    Hi Robert, coming back across your idea here I want to be open that we don't have any plans for this. The Item field is driven by your inventory products and services, which is why it auto description and other fields with the contents saved for that item. If you have pre-filled the description column and need to change the item we'd recommend copying this so once you update the items you can paste your text back in the description column.

  2. When looking at the Pay Run / Pay Run History page, please add number of employees in each pay run to the overview. We report on this each pay period and would make more sense to be shown here then having to click into the pay run or

    Nice to hear your interest in this, Sarah. While we don't have immediate plans for sending invoice receipts to customers via SMS, as you may have heard we've made steps in this space with sending of invoices via SMS now available to AU customers, and in the works for the US - See my update on this idea.

    We're continuing to expand on this feature for the time being but we'll continue to track interest in your idea here and share if there's any plans made. 🙂

  5. Add a 'Projects' column to Bills rather than having to click 'Assign expenses to customer or project'.

    As a company who have many projects that are a similar (or the same) name as a customer's company name, the current process results in expenses being assigned to a customer and not the project!

    A 'Project' column has been added in the new invoice template so PLEASE add one to the Bills as well!!

    Thanks for the feedback here, team. While we have made some improvements to the Bills list screen we don't currently have plans for adding Projects as it's own column here.

    However, you may have seen you can now quick view bills from the eye icon and edit from the list meaning you can check a bills assignments, edit if you need and then move onto the next without having to move away from the list.

  6. We have to use find and recode each month for adjusting certain batches of transactions. These are the same combination of searches used monthly to find and recode.

    It would be useful to be able to name and save or favourite search criteria for quick recall each month. (Looking back at previous searches is ok, but not obvious which is which until you click into them).

  7. I have a long list of draft invoices, however in the app, I don't know what each one is unless I click on it? Why is the reference not in the heading? This would save a LOT of time for such a small feature.

  8. Would it be possible to have the option of jumping to the page a transaction is on, when searching through unreconciled transactions on the bank feed?
    For example, you find the transaction inthe search bar, but then you need to flip through (sometimes dozens) of pages on the bank reconciliation screen to find it, to reconcile it. Would be amazing if we could have a 'jump to this transaction page' option.

  9. Under the 'New Invoice' creation page, it would be great to add a contact's VAT number as you are creating the contact, on the invoice page.

    Just add one line under the address.

    Then one would not have to navigate to the Contacts page to add the VAT number

  11. It would be good for the lower scroll bar to display when a screen is minimised (in contacts). Currently, if you minimise the screen (as I do when I am comparing entries in another external on-line tab, for example, with my HMRC account, or my on-line bank account) you can only see the left of the minimised screen. The information does not compact into a full but smaller screen, neither is there a scroll button to scroll the information to the right.   15. Say I go to a supplier and make a cash purchase. I use my debit card and then walk out with goods and a receipt. Scanning the receipt to Xero and coding the purchase if easy but I am pretty slack and normally lose the receipt before I get to scan it. What say, the vendor scans a QR code that I carry containing my email/Xero info and this allows the vendor's system to email me the purchase document. No paper and I can code the purchase when I am at my PC later in the day. Also means I…

I own several different businesses that are set up as separate organizations within xero, but they are all in the same industry and there is quite a bit of crossover of contacts between the businesses. As I understand it currently, each business will have its own unique address book, so if I update John Smith's phone number in Company A, it will not update in Company B. This makes no sense to me. There should be a universal contact book where we can select whether or not we want a company to use that universal set of contacts.

  18. Currently Xero is set up to nil off both the Employer NI Expense GL and Liability GL as soon as payroll is run because employers NI contribution is always setoff against HMRC allowances.

    However, it is important to have employers NI contribution cleared only when remittances are made to HMRC and when HMRC send allowances (which is always a month accrued). The allowances are setoff against the employers NI expense GL.

    This treatment will allow the accountant to respond to remittances made to HMRC in terms of employers NI and allowances received from HMRC accordingly.

  20. Including the AUTO lookup feature for sales tax in the Mobile App would make the product usability much better in states such as Colorado. To create invoices at "pop-up" events in various tax jurisdictions is crucial so you don't have to remember to continuously load new rates for complex destination /home-room rule situations. The "usability" of the app would be increased rather than being tethered to a computer to manage.
