    I wanted to take a moment to share a suggestion that I believe could significantly simplify our payroll process. It involves the implementation of a bulk upload feature, which would allow us to handle payroll data in a more efficient manner. We will need a template that contains essential details for each employee. These details may include the employee's name, rate of salary, and various pay items relevant to their compensation. This would reduce the time and effort invested in processing payroll.

  3. Statement by Contact - as same contact a bill payment and a customer.
    Statement needed for 'Contact"
    We really need to have statements for Contacts with a running balance. We use the same Contacts for bill payments and also for invoicing, and want to be able to send them a statement.
    We use Xero for several entities and all 3 have this issue.
    Please put this as a priority as it does not look professional sending the contact an account transaction listing - instead of an activity statement by Contact.

  4. I am on a customer page and it shows that they currently owe for two open invoices. I would like to be able to click on the button Open Invoices and have the option to receive payment for those open invoices without having to leave the customer page. Currently I have to go to 1. Business 2. invoices 3. Awaiting Payment 4. Scroll through ALL open invoices (no filter even?), 5. Select the invoices I want to receive payment on 6. Select Deposit. Why not just go straight to the customer's open invoices and receive payment?

  5. It'd be nice for there to be a 'Summary' view in Xero where the client can go to see and address all transactions with 'Discuss' comments.

    It'd be nice to send the client a link directly to this view, or to be able to send a notification (with automated reminders) directly from Xero prompting the client to address these comments, WITH a link that takes them right to this view.

    In this view, it'd be nice to...
    (1) see which user posted each comment,
    (2) be able to upload support directly into each transaction (which then stays with the transaction…

  6. Could there be an option to link an address for a contact group to members of that group?

    We have many NHS customers who order under individual staff names but are linked to NHS Trusts. So for instance, John Smith, David Brown, Elle Davis may all work for Clydeside NHS.

    We'd like to have them all grouped under "Clydeside NHS" (can do that) and be able to flag that they all share the same Billing Address which is an attribute of that Contact Group.

    At present we have to maintain each separately and this doesn't help with spotting that they…

  8. When reviewing the 'Account Transactions' report in Xero there is an ability to filter by 'Source' type. However, only the 'Select all' option includes Payroll Expense Journals.

    Considering I can filter around every other transaction type, I don't see why Payroll Expense Journals can't be added as a source option?

    I know exporting to Excel works as a workaround - but considering every other source type is available adding one more shouldn't be difficult?

    Hi team, appreciate recent feedback when we recently merged this idea to this one. Understand that there's a bit of a difference in what's being asked between the two ideas, and we've unmerged to continue to track these ideas separately. 

    Being open there are no current plans to add a filter for Payroll expense journal to Source, however we will continue to get a sense of the interest in this and let you know if any progress is made, here. 

  9. I would like to see a report that listed all the bank accounts, their balance at the report date and the date of the last imported bank statement line. For a company with more than a handful of accounts it would make it much easier to see which accounts needed to be brought up to date for accounts prep.

  10. It would be an idea to be able to add to a purchase order by simply ticking the item from the stock list while you are checking stock levels. This would save time typing in every item after you have checked it.

  11. When importing bills from a csv file, Xero will currently treat all lines with the same invoice number as one transaction, even if the separate lines are from different suppliers. The system should ideally not ignore the fact that the supplier name is not the same. Would be good to assume that the bill is posted against the correct supplier, even if it happens to have the same invoice number as another supplier's invoice.

  12. Custom reports- why there such a large gap of blank wasted space between the account names and the first column!! We create month x month reports ie 12 months of columns wide, so it is very frustrating when you create a PDF with all those columns on it and there is that great wasted space before the first column!!!

  13. Currently you can add a bill / invoice without adding a invoice number or just typing a word or anything - example our debtors lady invoiced (Receivable invoice) a client and overwrited the invoice number (reference) to "Diesel R/Bay" so the invoice had no invoice number

  14. The ability to bulk update staff charge out rates in Project Tasks. Running many projects and therefore many many in progress tasks. Needing to duplicate a task and create a new charge rate is both tedious and cumbersome. Unless you export to excel and manually change data, you are unable to get an accurate snap shot of the financial status of the project as charge out rates are outdated. Currently when exporting invoices, I am needing to individually update staff rates to reflect the current times.

  15. We only want to pay the supplier/freelancer once our customer has paid for the service.
    Some form of link between a purchase invoice and the associated sales invoice to flag that the supplier can now be paid as the corresponding sales invoice was settled.
    Trigger something in the Due Date or even set up a payment so that it is easier to make sure we only pay once we have been paid

    Hi Neil, just rounding back on your idea here again. We have a separate request for the ability to be notified when an invoice has been paid. Being good to track each part of the idea separately I'll slightly adjust the title of your idea for the first portion and you're welcome to join this other one for any updates around notification of paid invoices. 🙂

    1. I need to be able to get a total on all the quantities on an invoice. If there are say 5 entries I would like to be able to get a total of all the quantities entered .
    2. One is able to move a line in an invoice from one place to another. But I would like to be able to move more than one entry around at once. So if I am able to select 2 or more entries and move them to another place in the invoice it would be great.

  17. Currently, I can export manual journals from a Xero organization for record saving. However, I cannot use the exported manual journals in Excel format to be imported to another organization directly. Because the exported manual journals show the GST amount in a separate line (GST account). Can you please add a new function to export manual journals for Xero importation? It means I can directly import the exported manual journals from one organization to another without editing.

Previously in the old format Aged Payable Summary and Detail reports you could run the report at the end of the month and change the Ageing by option to be by Due date and the report would then exclude any invoices with a due date later than the month end it was being run by. However when doing the same in the new format report this does not work and the Current column shows invoices for the month as being due even if they have a due date of later than the month end date being selected i.e. the report…

  19. Could we implement an option to pay an invoice via bank transfer when a customer clicks on the 'pay now' link on an invoice?

    At the moment, most of the connected services are done via card and may have fees included on top of what the customer already has to pay.
