  1. We have two accounts (bank & credit card) from the same institution. For bank feeds, please allow multiple logins from the same institution.

    Once we login for a bank feed on one of the accounts, we can't set up the bank feed for the other account. It just asks us to choose the already logged in account.

    Hi team, thanks for sharing this idea and for the detailed explanation of how this affects your workflow. We understand that it's common for a business to hold multiple accounts with different login credentials at the same bank.

    Currently, Xero's architecture is built to link one set of banking credentials per user in an organisation. While we'll keep this idea open to monitor interest from the community, we want to be transparent that we don't have any immediate plans to make changes in this area.

    The recommended solution is to have another user in your Xero organisation connect the bank feed using the alternative credentials.

    If you would prefer not to have another person involved, you can add yourself as a user with an alternative email address and connect the second feed that way. It is free to add extra users to a Xero organisation, so this will not affect…

  2. Kelly Munro shut down discussion on an idea I suggested, because she was under the mistaken impression that she had resolved the issue, which she had not. I suggested that it would be useful to be able to allocate payment of purchase invoice against overpayments and credits.     With your added detail we're happy to have the idea in the forums here that we can get a feel for the appetite on - You're always welcome to reply to an update I've shared on an idea too and we can review this.

  3. Some xero reports can be run by last month, last quarter, last financial year etc. The above report can only be run by entering specific dates. Could this report have the same pre set date options added? This would be useful for client query lists for monthly/ quarterly BAS Returns, annual accounts/ tax returns etc

  4. When adding a bank rule is it possable to change
    No 5 Add rule details to deault to "all accounts" rather than the account you are currently in
    A rule set up for fuel will be the same allocation no matter what bank account you are in
    Where do you chande the system defaults?

    Hi Greg, while there's no way to set your own defaults for Bank Rules in Xero. 

    The existing default will differ depending on where you start the Create rule flow. 

    • If you're in the process of reconciling your account (via the Reconcile screen or Cash coding) the default for '5. Add rule details > Run this rule on' is the bank account you were reconciling
    • On the other-hand if you Create rule from the Bank rules screen, this'll default to 'All bank accounts'

    While this isn't something we have plans for at present. Appreciate how you'd like to set up a default regardless of where you start this and have adjust the title of your idea, here and we'll keep an eye on the support for this. 

  5. It would be great once you have split a transaction that rather than just clicking on save and being returned to the Cash coding screen to click on reconcile, than you could have an option to click Save & Reconcile so that the transaction is coded and reconciled all in the one screen and then it returns you to your Cash coding screen

  6. I want our employees to receive an automatic email when their leave balance is above a certain level, separate to their payslip. The email will be a prompt advising them of their leave balance and our company policy regarding taking leave. I'd anticipate the email workflow would be triggered once each payroll period, when it is completed, based on a conditional logic such as 'if balance is greater than X, this email is generated for Employee A'.

  7. Please can we have the functionality to add more than one gocardless account to one organisation? We have a client account where funds are directed to a trust account under one account and then our normal gocardless account and would be great to be able to include both sets of transactions (at the moment we have one linked and the other is updated manually at the end of the month.)

  8. In addition to individual accounts, it would be great to select a group total from the Balance Sheet (or P & L) to put in the Account Watchlist, eg if you have a number of loans and you want to see what Total Loans are on the dashboard.

Rather than requesting or sharing the Xero Network key, if we receive an invoice from a supplier that is submitted through Xero .. we should have an option to add the supplier for eInvoicing with a clickable button "Add supplier for eInvoicing in future" .... this way, as a customer, I am in control and opt-in myself rather than administrative burden of requesting / sharing network keys

  10. Student Loan Tax Calculation
    Xero tax sets out the calculation of Income tax and NIC very well.

    Unfortunately, the system is obscure in relation to displaying the calculation for Student Loan Tax which is important for an increasing number of young people coming into financial maturity.

    We need to provide adequate assurance both to them and the increasingly aggressing Student Loan Company to avoid penalties and unexpected bills.

    I request that Xero includes a breakdown of the calculation on the Summary computation report.

  11. When I post an expense through to a project, for some reason it limits it to 100 characters, which pretty much makes it un-useable for me.
    This is annoying, as I was just thinking how handy the projects app is, but now all the "projects" I've set up are basically a waste of time as I need the extra detail on my invoices.
    Please can you change this?

  12. When items get posted into fixed asset module from bills, why isn't the asset type automatically fed from the account it was posted to? This just creates unnecessary work having to assign them manually!

    Hi John, to better understand how these custom fields would help - could you explain where you'd expect them to appear or how you might use them?


    For example, would you expect to be able to report on these? It sounds like you'd like them to be visible when entering an item such as posting a journal, or adding a line to an invoice however it'd be good to know how you expect these to differ to the fields that are available in those as well. 

    For example when adding an invoice you can enter an issue and due date, writes a text description and enter a price with 2d.p.

In Projects, when we add tasks to the project (pulled from Products and Services) and then Create Quote, the Product or Service name is what imports into the description line in the Quote and not the description from that Product or Service, as it does when creating a quote outside of Projects. Having this consistency makes sense (and is strange that it is not already the default) but it makes creating a quote from projects cumbersome, as the description needs to be added manually.

  16. Ability to enter total amount of Purchase Order and number of units, then the unit price will be automatically calculated. Have quotes given by suppliers that are a fixed amount that cannot be changed, and because of the Unit number the total has to round up, it doesn’t give the same total.

  17. Add Bank Rules as an option to Accounting/Advanced options.

    Much easier to navigate via Accounting dropdown menu than via Bank Accounts, eg when recoding transactions usually need to update a rule as well

  18. After adding a bill to pay, there is an option to add another bill. I suggest another option, "Add another bill from this vendor". I often process more than one bill from the same company.

  19. An Employee's payslip gives the current pay period earnings, deductions and net take home pay. It's missing YTD earnings and deductions information on a payslip. Please consider including the same in your future updates. Thanks, We are a Canadian based business.

    Hi community, we’re making some changes to Global Pay Run to help you manage your payroll more effectively;

    - From 23 July 2025 Global Pay Run will become read-only. You'll still be able to see all your past payroll information, however you will not be able to process any new pay runs after this date. 

    - Global Pay run will be retired after April 2026, at which point you'll no longer be able to access pay run. 

    We appreciate your input on how we can improve Xero for you, however with this change coming we don't have any plans to further develop Global Pay Run, and will move any ideas related to this on the site to Not planned. 

    If you're from a region where we offer dedicated payroll products (AU, NZ and UK) specifically designed for your regions unique requirements, you may want to explore transitioning to Xero

  20. In Xero HQ when we create a New Template for Reports and add reports according to our preference, We are unable to add reports like Top Suppliers and Top customers report in Xero HQ but those reports are available in individual client's organizations.

    It would be great if we can add these reports in Xero HQ so it would be easy to generate month end reports from Xero HQ for all the clients.
