  1. We need to have the ability to add an additional column to the Sales Invoice Template.
    When we are already utilising the Item and Description column, we for example need to add a Barcode field as well. I would presume that this is a frequent requirement for other businesses.
    In addition, there should be a specific PO field in addition to the Reference field.

  2. When entering a quote, we have to enter an account code for every line of a quote. If we type one in incorrectly (for example entering code 2000 instead of 200), then Xero opens a link to add account codes. The problem is that this does this in the same window. You cannot go back to your 38 line quote that you spent nearly a half hour creating because Xero didn't open a new window, no they put the link to new account codes in the same window as the quote.   3. When creating an invoice from a project-keep items in the same order as they appear in the project. It is very confusing when all the items are in different places than they were in the project and I have to reorder everything.

  4. At the moment Xero doesn't auto calculate the depreciation rate from the effective life. This means when we run the depreciation report the rate column shows up as blank if we've entered the effective life into the asset register rather than the rate. We should be able to enter the effective life and Xero auto calculates the depreciation rate for the depreciation report.

  5. When you try to add a new bank account to a contact, Xero only accepts numbers and hyphens in the field. Spaces are not accepted.

    All invoices issued by Xero have the issuer's bank account on the invoice formatted with separating spaces between the number blocks.

    So when entering a new contact, I can't just copy-paste the bank account number from the invoice that was created by Xero because the format of such number doesn't comply with the formatting in Xero contact section. Every time it has to be manually edited by all the thousands of Xero users.

    When I quickly want to take a photo of a receipt using mobile, I have to go through several clicks from the Dashboard: Purchases | Files Inbox | Take Photo. Which is frustrating. Can't you put a button on the dashboard [Take photo]?

  9. In most areas of xero you can enter dates in any format, however, in the 'new fixed assets' this errors unless its in the one format Xero accepts.

    Please make the date fields similar to the other fields in Xero, allowing any format e.g. 1/1/24, 1.1.24, 1-1-24, 1 1 24, etc

    Thanks for sharing how we can improve sending via SMS for your business use. This is something our team ave started exploring, so we'll keep you updated of any news of being able to send both SMS and email at once, here.

  11. Make the functionality of quotes similar to invoices, e.g. import quotes, bulk approve quotes, bulk send quotes. I recently had to send out 417 quotes for the same thing and they had to all be done individually which was extremely time consuming. If they had been invoices, I could've imported them on a spreadsheet, approved them all at once and sent them all at once. Instead each one had to be done individually.

    Appreciate your liking to invoices in Xero, Angela. Each functionality would need to be considered in isolation so I've changed the title of your idea here for bulk sending.

    We don't have any direct plans for this right now, but we'll begin to get a sense of the interest and keep you updated of any change, here.

    You'll find an existing idea for import/export of quotes that you may like to join as well. If there's any other feature like this that you'd like to see welcome to start another idea. 🙂

  12. The sum and subtract function in invoices is a great feature; it would be great to use it in expenses as well. I often have to itemise a gross expense total into separate items with different VAT treatments. It would be useful to subtract the itemised line amount from the gross total directly in Xero rather than using a calculator.

  13. We used to have the option to add/remove highlighting in a text box directly from the main page of draft reports, however this feature was removed and now we can only Bold/Italics/Underline/Bullet point, but no highlight.

    It would be great if we could add this function back in, so we didn't have to go to 'Edit Layout' to change add/remove highlighting anymore.

  14. Make it possible for imported invoices to be marked as sent when importing them.
    Perhaps an additional column in the template Mark as sent status "Y for sent N for not sent"
    If this is not possible the ability to bulk "mark as sent"
    this would eliminate the issue of individually opening each invoice to manually "mark as sent" to activate the auto invoice reminders

  15. Can we please have the ability to add effective start and end dates against pay items. For example, a deduction may only be for 10 weeks at a set amount. Rather than having to setup multiple notes offline to remind us of this, can't we have this function setup in the payroll system so it only deducts the amount over the set period specified?

  16. Often I will be selecting the checkbox on a number of bills, and I will misclick and click on the surrounding whitespace of the checkbox. This currently is acting as a link and opening the bill for edit; which means if I just spent my time selecting a number of bills (Usually checking them off one by one while I review some details on another screen) that now my previous selections have now been lost.

    Change the surrounding whitespace clickbox to select/unselect the checkbox rather than linking to the edit bill. At the very least, just make it not link…

  17. When using any report, when drilling down into more detail is great BUT there seems no way of then returning to the original report without re-running it after you have finished reading the drilled down info? Or have I missed something.

    Would be good to get an example of a specific report you're drilling into, Lyn. You should be able to click the back button on your browser to return to the previous page / report you're on.

    Alternatively, right click and opening the drill down figure in another tab may also be useful here 🙂

  18. Purchase Orders Send Email Features.
    This is to request the Product team to please also update the Send Email settings for the Purchase Order to make work efficient and clear to multiple recipients if they are only on CC.
    Attached the screenshot of the latest update Xero had made for Invoice Send Email in which the CC and BCC is in the sending option. It is very helpful for the multiple receiver where in the business communication, we need to CC multiple emails than putting every email in the sending to space.

  19. When processing a batch payment report on Xero and exporting to excel to upload to the bank, separate the Account number and sort code - it currently processing them as one number omitting any zero's and this creates an incorrect bank account number, so makes the report useless.
