NZ Payroll - Separate "Post" and "Submit to IRD" actions
Currently, when you connect your Xero login to myIR, Xero automatically files the pay run with the IRD as soon as it is posted. Unfortunately, there is no option to opt out of this automatic filing without disconnecting from myIR entirely.
It would be much more flexible if posting and filing could be done as separate steps. While it's possible to have another user who isn't connected to myIR handle this, small businesses often rely on a single person to manage the entire payroll process.
We would prefer to post the pay run, send payslips, complete banking, and then submit…

Supplier Credit Notes - Search feature when applying credits
Being able to search for original bill to apply credit against rather than scroll through whole list of open bills. This will save a lot of time & errors.

AU Payroll - Paid break times
Ability to enter a PAID Break - This would be particularly helpful in Contruction industry, where most awards provide employees with a paid tea break on OT & Weekend work. This would mean employers will meet their obligations for Start/Finish Times as well as break times.

Navigation - One-click Copy for commonly copied text fields
I would love to be able to one-click copy text fields that are commonly manually copied, such as:
- Invoice/Bill total
- Invoice/Bill number
- Customer ABN
- Customer email
- Customer address
- Supplier BSB/account number
- Payment/batch total
This click would copy the unformatted number/text to allow pasting into another app, such as Internet Banking, Excel, Calculator, email etc.
When paying a bill via Internet Banking, I need to manually copy the total via Ctrl-C, then paste into Internet Banking and manually remove the comma.
When pasting into Windows Calculator (which also won't accept commas) I need to paste into Notepad first to edit the…2 votes -

Bank Reconciliation - Column to show which user reconciled transaction
Bank Reconciliation - Having a Reconciled By column.
It would be very helpful to have a column in the bank account transactions screen that shows who reconciled the transaction. I have a client who thinks they are helping by reconciling their own transactions only to get most of them wrong. If there was a column showing the reconciler then I would very quickly be able to ascertain the transactions i need to review by running a history and notes report for that period.2 votes -

GST Return- Ability to only show a single line per invoice on the Transactions report
When running the GST Transactions Report, each and every line from each invoice is reported separately, creating a ridiculously large report.
Perhaps there could be one single line per invoice, reporting the total GST for that invoice? Like it used to be?Thanks

Products and Services - Add "In committed quotes" and "Quantity on order" to the columns in the main page & reports
This will allow a more accurate look on the stocks pre-ordered as well as incoming stocks. Instead of having to click each item to see it.
Even in the reports, it's great to see it so we can just generate a quick report about it.

Invoice list view - Add View Option
View Invoices in the Invoices menu - Add View Option
2 votesHi community, thanks for your insights on how this feature would be useful to you within Sales invoices. Being open we don’t have direct development for this planned atm, however our product teams are doing some more discovery in this space and we’d like to invite you to feedback through our survey here. Your input would be really valuable to the team as they get a deepened sense of our users for future improvements.

On focus the code dropdown should clear
In the dcoding screen, if there's already a code selected then the user has to manually empty the existing code to be able to type another. This is just clunky - when the dropdown is enabled it should either clear the field or allow the user to start typing a new code.

New Invoicing - Keep Invoice Options to copy invoice and retain all the data
We create multiple invoices with deferred income. Currently I can approve the sales invoice then under "Invoice Options" copy to a new invoice and all the data is pulled over. I can then adjust the nominal ledger to the balance sheet and approve that, then again from the "Invoice Options" I can add a credit note to the P&L. I can then copy again to create a new sales invoice for the date when the income is due to the P&L and create that and once again add a credit note to credit the balance sheet. I realise this might…
2 votesThanks for sharing your feedback and the detail on how you use invoicing here. Just to make sure I understand fully and can share back with the team - when you say you want to retain all the data. It is currently possible to copy an invoice to a new draft invoice for the same contact, however is it that you are wanting the contacts defaults to be applied to the new invoice?

Find and Recode - Option to switch "Received as" to Prepayment, Overpayment, etc
Find and Recode payments from imported statements to change the "Received as" feature to Prepayment or Overpayment.
I have a lot of older statements to import (this particular payment provider does not offer a feed for importing automatically). These payments are nearly all prepayments, and now I have to manually reconcile them to Prepayments. Automation would be a real time saver!

New invoicing | Copy to draft - Approve and email prompt if credit or prepayment available
For invoicing - if you copy an existing invoice (copy to draft invoice) - once all information is completed - when you then click "approve and email" it does not offer any credits or prepayments before sending. After you send you return to the invoice - it then shows "apply credit" - but this is too late! If you only click on "approve" then it will show the prepayment to allocate. But I believe you need it on both - approve and email should be included.

The ability to show Sankey Diagrams
I would like to suggest adding the capability to generate Sankey diagrams within Xero. Sankey diagrams are highly effective in visualizing the flow of resources, such as money, energy, or data, through different stages or categories. They could be used to illustrate cash flow, revenue distribution, and expense breakdowns in a more intuitive and engaging way.
By adding Sankey diagrams, Xero could offer users a more dynamic and insightful view of their financial data, helping them better understand how money moves through their business, leading to improved decision-making and reporting.
