New Invoicing - Invoice Contact Groups
Update new Invoicing to allow sending invoices to contact groups as you can in the classic invoicing. It's ridiculous that something so useful has been left behind in the switch to the new style. I need to be able to amend the invoices I send out based on the individual needs of the group. It saves so much time to be able to create a default set of drafts that I can amend rather than having to go to each individual and create an individual invoice within that group. Please guys, piull this across!
Thanks for getting involved and sharing your interest for contact group invoicing, everyone. Our latest updated for new invoicing means you can now create a new invoice for a contact group! 😊
If you've still be using classic invoicing, switch to the new version first through the banner at the top, or link at the bottom of any invoice.
Next time, you create an invoice for a Contact group you'll be taken to enter the details for your group invoice, in new invoicing. We appreciate all your input and feedback through the idea here.

Any current functionality with classic invoicing should be carried across to new invoicing. It's ridiculous that we should have to request this.

Can you guys please make improves on your API please? This is why everybody is moving away from Xero to other platforms. Not being able to save CC info and zero API improves is bugging your customers. Nobody excepts you guys that their able to create every program or modify the interface to suit all customers but at-least provide a good enough API for customers todo anything they imagine.

@ Kelly - just to be clear what I mean see attached, seems the other comments relate to what I have previously said about generating one draft for a particular group of contacts which then generates the same invoice for all those in that particular group and then saves them as drafts to be checked and approved.

POTENTIAL WORKAROUND
I got round this by using the sales invoice import function (CSV upload) in Business/ Invoices/ Import. I loaded a CSV with the information from our membership database. Or, if you maintain your contacts in Xero and have them grouped already, you can export just that Group's information (names, emails, etc.) into a CSV by going to Contacts/ select the Group in question/ then click on the three dots in the top right-hand corner/ Export in the dropdown menu. You'll have to copy and paste the billing information you need into that sales invoice CSV for import, and check you your invoice references are sequential!

This is the main reason we joined Xero. I send out the same invoice to every contact, 250 of them, once a year. If I have to copy and paste that will be way too time consuming. If this is not available by the end of August I will have to find another supplier. I cannot believe a company like Xero would not have this facility available.

I have a client that invoices their member base of 300+ once a year. If this feature is not in the new invoicing, this will greating disadvantage them. Hope to see this actioned soon.

Update please? I have a QB's client who wants to switch to Xero primarily for this feature. Can I assure them this will be up and working in new invoicing???

Yes, can we get an update, please? Less than 3 months to go and I need to raise 171 identical invoices this week - this is the difference between 2 mins and 2 days work!

the fact that an existing feature is removed with the "new and improved" system is quite frankly ridiculous. if you want to add new features then go crazy, but removing such an easy and basic part of invoicing just to make it prettier is just incomprehensible.
it may not be a feature used by 100% of people, but for the people who do need&use it its clearly a huge time saver. having to raise 30+ similar invoices with the grouping is time consuming enough. if you remove this feature it will just become beyond tedious.
if this is not implemented before the forced switch then it will be me who's switching. (accounting software)

I'd also like to know the status; The contact group invoicing is a very useful tool usually in situations where there is a high volume of repetive billing. I have an immediate client prospect that wants to switch to Xero because QB's does not have this feature, and it will save them at least 2 hours every month. I don't want to promise unless I'm absolutely sure this feature will be retained and work properly at switch off date.
This feature is also great when Xero changes price in the middle of the month and you need to do a master proration billing. -

Where are we with this? If the clsasic is being switched off in September, will this be ready in time. It's going to be a huge inconvenience, not to mention the fact that it'll increase the invoicing workload immensely! We really need this option installed as soon as humanly possible.
There must be a way to see how many people use this feature on the classic invoicing, as I have a feeling many people haven't realised that it's not currently available and you're going to have a lot of very upset users once they realised that this isn't in the new invoicing structure.

I use this feature all the time to create invoices for groups from 10 to 60 people attending an event. It beggars belief that Xero would withdraw it. Like several other pieces of basic functionality that are either absent or being withdrawn though, customer protest will make no difference: Xero continues to focus its resources on new, chargeable stuff at the expense of the base product.

I agree that the group invoicing is an essential part of Xero's appeal and echo the suggestion that you DON'T retire the 'classic' invoicing until Xero have figured out a fix for the new invoicing process. -

Why don't you have a timeframe for this right now!? There are seemingly enough people who want this feature and are willing to go elsewhere if it's not implemented! It's a great feature that saves me a load of time when raising invoices for my music school. I don't want to lose that functionality!

I echo everyone else's sentiments. It's absolutely essential to our business that we have this feature up and running before you retire the classic version. Without it, it renders Xero virtually useless to us, as we do all our invoicing this way. It's utterly ridiculous that it hasn't already been resolved in the new version. Can you please give us some kind of timeframe and reassurance that you will resolve it well before you retire the classic version in September

I wanted to add my concern that this feature to invoice a contact group wasn’t included in the new invoicing. Without this feature we shall have to look for an alternative software. Please please update again with a timeframe of this being available or at least some reassurance that you will not make us lose the classic invoicing.
