New invoicing - Display the item code
Display the item PRODUCT CODE (similar to the old invoicing) - we have a lot of similarly named products, so need to see the product code to differentiate.
Quick turn around on this one, team. Today we've released a change, and you'll now find item code is shown when viewing an invoice with new invoicing. Thank you for your feedback and voting on this idea.

This function should never have been removed from Invoicing. It is a basic stock function which is critical for us to be able to us the new invoicing. If this is not available, then we cannot use the new invoicing & will need continued access to the classic invoicing (which seems to be much better & have more useful features than the new invoicing). Don't "fix" what isn't broken!
Also, please add the ability to not see the GST content column on invoices. It is a value that is not necessary for us to see, line by line. the GST total at the bottom is all we need to see. Thanks. -

I'm not using new invoicing until I can see the item code and both tracking codes.
Xero needs to provide the same functionality in new invoicing as in classic invoicing before forcing us to use it

I do not understand how an inventory led part of the Xero process doesn't include the unique identifier of an inventory item...blinkered development.

We must have item codes viewable once invoice approved.
viewable to us only, we don not want these to show on customer invoices -
Jason Wood commented
I always use the classic view as the new invoicing does not have nearly enough features

I also have had to revert to classic invoicing as the product code is essential for us - not quite sure who would have thought it wouldn't be needed... design over function perhaps? Anyway, I'll be back to new invoicing when the basic functionality is ready!

Product Codes are the backbone for inventory. Hiding it from view is not very smart when easy daily access is required. Not sure who is the GUI expert in xero, but this new invoice interface needs some work ... one of the reasons I always go back to classic.

This is absolutely imperative to our business. We sell the same product from different suppliers and we need the code to do warranty/returns claims. Without this, we could not continue using Xero.
Surely it can't be that hard to reinstate - we have to enter the product code to create the invoice in the first place.
This should not be a Product Idea and should never have been removed. This is an essential invoicing function. I cannot believe someone thought removing product codes would be a good idea and it obviously wasn't run pass the correct audience of users.

This is very important for us.

Hi Kelly Munro, unfortunately shifting this to Review does not help us one bit, we absolutely need to have this functionality for our invoicing.

Agree - we simply cannot use New Invoicing without the item code, account code & vat clearly visible on the main screen (ie. with no clicks to see it). This MUST be fixed before the switch. New invoicing is NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE without this.

Hi there, same here, I'm keep using the old invoicing as the new one does not display the item code. In IT business SKU numbers are very important.

Great until this is in place we cannot switch to New Invoicing as it is a major issue for us.

Karen Leteno commented
Thank you glad to hear that you will be doing this as we cannot use the new invoicing until this has been done.

This is critical for us as we have many product descriptions similar but we operate solely on product codes.
When we open an invoice we now cannot determine which product code we have actually invoiced. -

Being able to see the product code is critical to us. I use it as a QC check to ensure the correct items are being invoiced. It also adds a layer of accountability as it allows my customer to compare their initial quote with their final invoice. Please, please, please do not force the use of New Invoicing until this is resolved.

I also need the account code and vat info for every line visible too!
Classic invoicing has this, why has new invoicing removed it?!?!?

Hazel Lucas commented
I want to see the account code details and vat info etc as on classic invoicing. My FD is not switching at the moment because of this

Nadine Hyslop commented
To add to this, ive always gone back to classic invoicing because the display of these columns - tracking, discounts, accounts is hiding under the description lines instead of having its own column once saved. We make some big invoices with little info per line, multiple lines, so this is going to get very messy and difficult to read and recode things when needed. Please fix this Xero!

Product item code must show please. Some descriptions are similar. Item code essential. This is basic accounting functionality.
New invoicing is removing functionality that was already in place. It seems clumsy.
