New invoicing - Option to use Xero Network
xero to xero Invoicing
We use the Classic Invoicing version on Xero to send Invoices to our inter-companies and clients who are also registered with Xero.
On 02 Sept 2024 this version will retire and only New Invoicing will be available.
We are not able to select "send via Xero Network" from the New Invoicing option (using our Xero Network Key).
Are the technical teams still working on this to have the option available or will this option fall away?

As you’ve found, there’s no functionality in New Invoicing to use Xero to Xero invoicing, as this option is being retired.
However, you can raise a suggestion directly with our product team to suggest they implement this functionality in the New Invoicing functionalities, as they're still developing additions and improvements to New Invoicing.

Hi everyone, we thoroughly appreciate all the feedback we've heard from our customers on their use of the Xero network and the importance this is for helping you move efficiently when using new invoicing. Where possible we highly encourage setting up and using eInvoicing as a solution which is wider reaching than just those businesses on Xero, and has more functionality.
In it's current state you can continue to send invoices using the Xero Network from the Awaiting payments list. That said, we've been listening closely and our product team are now considering development to incorporate sending invoices from Xero to Xero within new invoicing, as well as developing on this feature to enable attachments to be included when sending. We'll shift the idea to Under review for now and I'll share as there is more progression of this to update you on.

If there is less functionality in the new invoicing, dont force users to transition to it. Changes needs to be better and beneficial to users especially with increased subscription prices, not adding to their inconvenience which is exactly what removing Xero to Xero is.

We use Xero for our accounting practice and invoice all of our clients using Xero.
It is terribly inconvenient to not have the 'Xero to Xero' functionality right on the 'Approve and Email' popup.
Now I will have to select Approve, then go to Invoices, Awaiting Payment, and finally select the unsent invoice to email the invoice with the Xero to Xero checkbox.
If I accidently select Approve and Email, I am screwed. Can't send via the Xero to Xero without resending the email which is obviously confusing to the client.I am unhappy that you are taking away time-saving functionality - adding to my workload.

Whilst we don't use Xero to Xero with all of our suppliers, we do use it for those suppliers who have Xero who invoice us daily-weekly. Please reinstate as it's going to add a lot of time weekly.
I'm surprised that there's been no mention about it when taking on the new invoicing method (which still have bugs when I'm trying to add cost centres) and generally is not an improvement.

What a joke, you want to increase fees all the time & supply less functionality, how much is being saved by not coding this in? pretty soon you wont have anything vs paper & pencil.

PLEASE PLEASE find a fix to do XERO to XERO its a wonderful feature and a must for me and my many clients. I'm gutted if you dont get this fixed. - I'm going back to old invoicing until you get a fix for as long as I can .
Also - why does it take so long for the address on an invoice to populate, when you open an already sent invoice - this is so annoying and a time waster. Please fix this one too

This is a joke. You are forcing us to move to a new invoicing mechanism by retiring the old one but that move removes functionality that some of your customers rely on. Either make the new invoicing feature equivalent of the old one or don't retire it!

HELP PRODUCT TEAM!!
We absolutely need Xero network invoicing, we are US clients and eInvoicing will do us no good. Please either leave old invoicing an option or add Xero network invoicing to the new view or we will leave Xero and move to QBO. We love Xero but come on, this seems like a no brainer! -

This is not good enough the xero to xero function is critical and needs to be available in the new invoicing - I will not move to new invoicing until all the classic invoicing options are also available in the new invoicing WHY are you putting the xero to xero functionality into the new invoicing. I have lived with the missing functionality with xero to xero for the past 6 years and have waited patiently for you to allow it to work if an invoice has a discount. What functionality are you going to use to replace this, I am thinking maybe einvoicing but the issue with that is not many people have registered to use einvoicing, I registered as soon it became available and it was pushed at last years xerocom but the only invoice that come through there is the XERO subscription invoice. Xero really need to look more at what their customers want

I used to use Xero-to-Xero to get inter-entity invoices from one entity I deal with to another, related entity. I now _have_ to use e-invoicing. Where Xero-to-Xero was close to instant, e-invoicing takes all night for the invoice to arrive as a bill in the entity being invoiced, and that is waaaaaaay too slow to make the same day bill payment run. I'd like to pay those inter-entity invoices using an .aba file to reduce the possibility of typos; I'm not willing to wait a week until I'm doing the accounts payable for the related entities again.

Would really like to see this function kept as it saves so much time. We are unable to use the e-invoicing as we have 1 ABN that runs 8 costs centres in seperate Xeros. The e-invoicing only allows to link one of the xero entities per ABN so this does not work for us.

Please add the Xero network invoicing functionality to new invoices or give people the option to keep classic invoicing. By removing it, you are just taking away a great feature that initially drew people to Xero and kept them there. Maybe it's time to explore QuickBooks online or move accounts to a cheaper plan since that was the feature that kept us paying for a more expensive plan.

We can't use this feature of einvoicing as we want to send an invoice from our Australian branch to our UK brand and we don't have an ABN for our UK branch so it wont let us do einvocing. Shame such a useful function has been taken away without an appropriate replacement

Please add the Xero network invoicing functionality to new invoices or keep classic invoicing. Every client I have spoken to says they prefer the classic invoicing, not one person I have spoken to prefers the new invoicing layout. Why change invoicing to a layout that no one likes and which has less features. It makes no sense!

This is a comparison with what the classic invoicing and the new invoicing features are and it is really NOT correct at all. There are many features in the classic invoicing that are not shown
XERO you need to ensure all features are in the new invoicng that are currently in the classic invoicing you are causing more issues for your user base by not allowing things to happen.
firstly e-invoicing - I ensured all my clients registered for this and checked the box to receive xero invoices via e-invoing, it has worked for the last couple of months and now has stopped working WHY - please DO NOT remove the xero to xero invocing and please put it into the new invocing system
