Turn off JAX and remove prompts
I would like to know how to turn off JAX prompts and remove the icon from the middle of my screen when I am trying to send an email to a client. The comments are closed on the other post regarding this, however the question has not been answered. Please directly address how to remove this now that it no longer in beta.
Thanks for reaching out about this. While your post sits in the Feedback category for the ideas forum, I can definitely help clarify how JAX can be disabled based on what’s currently available:
Opting out of JAX
If you’re the Xero subscriber for the organisation, you can usually opt out of JAX at any time:
- Click the JAX icon (often shown as a chat or AI symbol).
- Select Settings or More features.
- Choose the Opt out option.
About the JAX icon
Even after opting out, the icon may still appear in some areas—such as the email compose window. Xero has indicated that while the functionality can be disabled, the icon itself may still remain as part of the product interface.
Your post is treated as Feedback because it’s about adjusting an existing feature rather than requesting something new. This helps ensure the Product team understands your experience—especially that the visibility of the JAX icon in places like the email editor can interrupt your workflow.
If you have any more questions or want to expand on how this affects you, feel free to share!

Updating my comment, because I am now being inundated with popups about Jax AI when logging in to the app, and am only being given an option to "snooze" these popups. This forcing of AI on a workflow I have no problem doing myself is insulting, and I'd like to know what's being done to allow removal of this "feature" for those who do not want it as part of our workflow process.

I would also appreciate the ability to remove the "Auto reconcile" prompt from the bank reconciliation screen and do not want this to appear for clients

I would also like to know how to turn JAX off permantly in a file. As part of this, the removal of the "turn auto-reconcile on" option every time I go in to reconcile an account. I do not authorise XERO to use any of our information to train their AI bots and want it nowhere near our data.
All these changes to Xero are just making XERO run so much slower. The lag in page refreshes is getting to the excruciatingly painful stage.

Yes, the ability to remove any mention of AI would be good. Not interested.

Yes, I too would like to completely remove JAX AI. Rather than look into it, please just give us an option to remove this intrusion nobody asked for.
