Billable expense - Automatically autofill account and project code in invoices
Currently after we assigned billable expenses to a customer and subsequently when we create a new invoice with the billable expenses, noted that the tracking category named Projects as well as account code are not auto-fill. We need to fill in manually which is time-consuming, imagine there are 100 items in the invoice.
It will be very helpful and save time if the account and project code will be auto-fill in the invoice. We really appreciate your support and looking forward this can be implemented. Thank you!

Invoices - Add placeholders to invoices
It would be great if you could use placeholders in item and in the general text of an invoice. I know this feature is available in recurring invoices but would be great if we could add to all invoices.

Financial statement translation - show currency on an average rate
Please include the function to translate financial statement from the local/base currency to reporting currency.
Currently, the PL is converted at month end rate rather than the average rate. This is incorrect.

Chart of accounts - Add support for subaccounts
Xero should have the ability (similar to QuickBooks) to have sub accounts in Chart of Accounts.

Bank Feed | Warning to check statement line imports when renewing feed
There is no warning that states that transaction can be missed when the bank feed is being renewed.
There should be a warning stating that during the time of renewal of bank feeds you will need to check in ensure all transaction/ stateliness have imported as some could be missed.

Invoice Template - Option to remove VAT/Tax heading from all templates
An option on the templates to remove the VAT/Tax heading. For non-VAT registered companies this heading isn't relevant, therefore, should have the option to completely remove it.

Account Transaction Report - Related account drill down for invoices/bills
When filtered for the bank accounts in the account transaction report, the related account column often shows AR/AP for bills and invoices. This loses the visibility for us. It would be great to see further drill down of related account of each line item instead of just AR/AP.

Invoice payments - Pay now Paypal branding for debit card option
Square & Paypal payment texts.
Currently if I add square and paypal payment options to my invoice the Pay Now pop up at the customer end is confusing. The 3rd option which is a Paypal guest passthrough for credit/ debit cards does not have paypal branding. So customers might be confused by options 1 and 3 and I might have to pay more for paypal fees when not needed.

Bank Reconciliation - Overpayments should appear in the Find & Match
Overpayments should appear in the Find & Match for Customers.
If a customer pays their correct amount owing, but an overpayment on their account hasn't been allocated against an invoice, it is impossible to reconcile.
Users have to go into Contacts, check if there is an overpayment, allocate the overpayment against an invoice then go back into the Bank Reconciliation page.
Users should be able to tick the invoices being paid and the overpayment that was used to reconcile in Find & Match.14 votes -

Fixed assets - Add mid year
Fixed asset register - We used to be able to add fixed assets in the middle of a financial year and enter an accum dep to date value within the entry of the draft assets themselves. Now we are restricted to the beginning of a financial year. This is a backward step. Why has the extra functionality been removed?
1 voteHi Catherine, something doesn't sound quite right there. Is it possible there is a lock date set up in the org ? I'd recommend raising a case with our specialists to get a closer look into your org and the asset you're trying to create and help determine what's preventing you from adding the asset on the date you'd like.

Under Advanced, History and Notes; add a option to view who deleted statement lines.

Tracking categories by month
I think it would be useful to update the 'Tracking Summary report' and make it possible to open it by month
1 voteHi Melanie, would be good to slightly understand your idea here better - when you say you'd like to update the Tracking Summary report by month, would this be to add comparative columns or just run the report for a month date range?
The Blank report might also be useful here where you can add Tracking columns with the Layout editor and set up the report in the style you're after. Once all set up you could then save the report as Custom to easily access this when you like.

Reports - GST late filing adjustments
would be so much easier if the only amounts that show on the GST late file reports are amounts where the GST treatment has ACTUALLY changed. doing something as simple as changing a code in a filed period can create hundreds of pages of "late claim" adjustments but they are just in and out entries..... this also makes it harder to determine which entries have actually changed.

VAT Report - Separate late claims by tracking category
VAT - late claims. As i use tracking categories - everything runs back through the late claims part of the VAT report but, this means there a mass of data to check through for the actual late claims that i do want in there. Very time consuming to check through all this. It would be great if you could separate out - say that the things come through from the bills from the tracking categories.

Bank Account Changes Report Showing Contact's Name - Downloadable as a PDF
Would like a report showing a list of bank account number changes. This would show original bank account number, new bank account number, contact's name, date the bank account number was amended and who amended the bank account number and to be able to print this as a pdf. This would be of great benefit because of fraud and also our Auditor has asked if we can produce a list of bank account number changes for a selected period.
176 votesHi everyone, while we don't have a direct report for this, some changes we've made to History & Notes in Xero will help in achieving what you're in need of here.
You can run the History & Notes, filtering by Type = Contact and typing 'Bank account number' in the Search to just view results for this action.
If needed you'll be able to export your results to PDF or Excel.
Though the contact name doesn't show on screen, you can right click on the Contact in the report to open the contact's record in a new browser tab, that allows you to inspect details without navigating away from your History & Notes results.

Reports - display currency symbol
Why doesn't Xero display the currency symbol (like a $) in any of the financial reports like Balance Sheet, Income Statement, etc.? We get only the plain numbers without knowing they are in U.S. dollars (in my case) and make these basic financial reports harder than necessary to read.

Reporting - Report on supplier invoices without valid input VAT tax invoices
By law one cannot claim input VAT on a supplier bill without the valid Tax invoice to hand. I wish to draw a report to indicate supplier bills that don't have valid input VAT tax invoices. This way I can adjust the VAT schedule to reduce the input VAT claim and don't have to manage this on a manual basis.
