    Thanks for the confirmation, Sally. We have some current work underway with the email send modal in invoices, however I want to be open that at the time the team are not extending to add new placeholders that can be used. 

    For now, as you may have found you can edit the default email to add the Contact Account Number before sending the invoice. Appreciate wanting something more automated and we'll continue to track the interest of this idea and share if there's any development. 

  5. I want to be able to add notes to rules I setup, but I don't want to use the description field as that shows on the books. I like to know why I chose not to set a tax rate on a rule, or if the business owner has told me something specific about a re-occurring transactions that they may not always provide a receipt for. I would like to have something to look back at so that I understand why I set it up as I did. Hopefully that makes sense?

    Hi Charlotte, sorry we haven't responded to your idea sooner. Appreciate your screenshot and raising this with us. I'd recommend this is something our Xero Support team take a deeper look into with you. If you can raise a case with them through Xero Central they have tools to be able to escalate this with our product team if not working as it should.

  7. Please add Recap Transaction found in MYOB.
    The feature allows you to see which accounts will be affected (debited or credited) by a transaction you're about to enter. Seeing what effect a particular transaction will have on the accounts allows one to know the outcome of transactions with accuracy. This is a powerful feature that can prevent incorrect entry of all kinds of transactions. See attached screenshot from MYOB

    Appreciate not the exact feature you're looking for here and will be good to get a sense of the interest of this here. In the meantime, I wanted to make sure you can find this information once reconciled. Those with the Standard or Adviser roles can run the Journal report to view recent impacts to accounts and the user that made each change. 

  8. Automated File attachments for repeating invoices.

    Is it possible to add a feature where attachment placeholders can be saved with a repeating invoice.? So that attachments can be bulk uploaded at some future time and they are included in the draft invoice using file name matching. "[contactname][year][month].csv" for example. Even better if this could done with all the attachments extracted from a single uploaded monthly zip file. The zip file could also perhaps contain a txt file with a simple filename to invoice matching array for a more flexible approach. I know that adding attachments is easy via…

  9. Number of fields for projects is really poor, I need a tracking category added to projects so for example we can have four different types of projects which I want to categorise in the initial project set up. When costs and revenue are then allocated to this project it's also automatically allocated to the tracking category associated. At the moment I'm having to manually allocate to every transaction. Would be made easier if like sage they had a copy above function but we don't even have that either, so clicky!

  10. VAT In the VAT boxes you have to "adjust" the figure rather than entering the relevant amount. Why can't you just enter the figure and move on. It would be much easier. Also you can't delete what you've done in a box or re-start the entire return. In my view it makes Xero a sub-standard product.

    HI team, appreciate not directly within the Customer statement at present and being open we don't have immediate change planned for adding this to the customer statement. However, for the time being you could look to run the Customer Invoice Activity report which has a few more options for the columns and detail shown. 

    Once you've set up as you like you could save as Custom to make this readily available in your org and export to share externally with a customer/client.

  13. Would like to be able to find and recode transactions in bulk or have a report somehwere, where we can search the "include Adjustment to Tax" amount on any transactions. There is currently no way to find transactions that have this and to correct we have to find the batch payment, undo, edit the invoice, approve and re-batch. Not ideal.

  14. For Purchase Orders:

    1) Able to assign departmental head for approval ( email goes to manager for approval and they can click and approve ) . Can create a approval level all from Xero to email.

    2) Able to see budget against PO , once budget uploaded approver or procurer can see department or nominal account budget before approval.

  16. When a bank feed form is uploaded, you can see the status of this - currently if one person has uploaded bank feed form, no one else can tell. Would be great if it just showed "bank feed form uploaded and being processed" or something

  17. Xero app - Adding a Receipt - check if image/s are fully uploaded before the Save button is enabled/allowed or run a check when the Save button is selected and if image/s are not fully uploaded alert user to wait.

    The Xero app is incredibly slow when uploading images eg; receipt scans. These are not expenses, the expense app works differently and is much faster but I can't use it for business receipts as they are not 'claims'. It has become slower each time I've upgraded…

  18. Given there is an option to 'Export Accounting Data' in 'General Ledger format', why is there no corresponding facility to Import in 'General Ledger Format '? I have a client with many problem transactions locked by accountants. The solution is to start again with a copy of the accounts, which involves splitting the exported data into several different import templates.

  19. We're currently using xero projects a lot and something that happens fairly regularly is staff posting time entries into finalised periods. I.e. we have run reports and finalised an accounting period and then there have been later changes in those periods in xero projects. It would be good to be able to lock periods in xero projects as we do with financial informtation in xero.

  20. I'm setting up a budget in Budget manager. Is it possible to budget that one expense line is a percent of another - eg Superannuation is 11.5% of wages payable?
