  1. There is no reason to have a limit of 15 Custom DOCX Branding Themes (when those are needed to be used as RCTI). Organisations that issue RCTI do so for many clients so why limit it.

  2. Ability to have more flexible permission in Xero Payroll, especially for read only Payroll reports and to give other users permission to approve/decline leave requests.

    Hi community, we understand user roles and the permissions a user has across an organisation is important to many businesses. Right now, as some may have seen across other ideas I've updated - we have some research underway to help us better understand where and how we might best tackle the most predominant needs in roles.

  3. It should be possible to suspend users without deleting them. This should cut off all accesses but should preserve the account /username itself. This is a basic functionality of user access control which is surprisingly absent from Xero. This preserves the user ID incase someone suddenly leaves the company or is suspended from duties for whichever reason.

  4. Our administrator generates our invoices and has Invoice Only Access, we need her to be able to change whether an invoice is paid by GoCardless or not, one of our company owners has to do this at the moment which is an inconvenience, please change so users with Invoice Only Access have the ability to change online payments.

  5. Is it possible to permanently remove the help banners that continually appear at the top of screens in Xero?

    Ideally, it would be nice to use these (if needed) and then close them off permanently, so they don't reappear every time you work in the file.

    They take a significant amount of space at the top of the screen so you actually have to X them out.

  6. Introduce the ability on the Xero Mobile app to switch between "organisations" in the context menu of the operating system.

    I have 4 different Xero entities that I need to upload receipts to, and to have to go into the app each time change the organisation before I can upload is time consuming.

  7. We have a UK based client who have a presentational and functional currency in USD. There is no possibility of setting up this company correctly on Xero, as Xero only lets UK organisations use the base currency on GBP to link easily to taxonomy.

    It would be very helpful if this could be set up.

    Hi Jonathan, when you say presentational and functional currency is USD - does the organisation pay taxes in the US? If so it would be recommended that you pick US when setting up the org. 

    Alternatively, if US is one of the currencies that the org regularly deals and transacts in but pays taxes in the UK it would be recommended that you select UK and the client is on an org that includes multi-currency in it's plan. 

    We appreciate customers would like to see more capability with currency in Xero - most recently we have added the ability to run the newer Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Budget Variance reports in other currencies an org uses.  

  8. Currently, when you invite a brand new user to Xero who has never used Xero before:
    1) on first log in you need to register for Xero & set password
    2) on second log in, it asks you to set up multi-factor authentication (MFA)

    It would be great if MFA could all be set up in the first log in as it creates confusion for the new user on the second log in. Its also easier for accountants when helping clients to set up new log ins if it could all be done at once, rather than Register > log…

It would be useful to be able to remove employees who are no longer working for the company from the Xero Expenses app. It's annoying having their names pop up under the "Nothing to review" section as it's easy to continue to file expenses under their name even though they no longer work for the company.

    Hi everyone, thanks for all your support and feedback of how changes in navigation could help your use of Xero. While not across all areas of the product there are some updates in Bills that we wanted to share and may help the needs of some in the idea here.

    We've launched Bills quick view where there's now an eye icon within the line of the bills list. From here you'll find more ease in viewing, and more recently being able to edit bills from this view without having to leave the list, meaning you can simply make adjustments and move from one bill to the next.

    We'll continue to explore and develop solutions like this to help our customers get more out of Xero on the go. I'll keep you informed of other updates that could enhance your experience, here.

Currently, due to the lack of an approval option for a quote (which is a different product idea), I will need to provide the quote creator the right to send quotes directly to customer without reviewing (to avoid having another user to have to login, after being notified per email/whatsapp about the draft created, to review the drafted quote and send to client - very inefficient process). Once I provide an user the right to send quotes, they also have the immediate right to send sale invoices although the approval for a invoice is a non-negotiable. It creates the risk…

  14. Please enable the Microsoft Word function SKIPIF for use in docx invoice templates. Currently, we can use the "IF" function in customized invoices to skip item records according to its ItemCode, but as noted by another user in the Microsoft Office discussion, a blank row will still appear for records that meet the filter test. I would like to recommend that standard access users be able to access a very handy "uncoded statement transaction report" that at this point is only available to the advisers role (usually accountants). I am told for advisers it appears on the front page of bank reconciliation. If it wasn't for chatting to an accountant one day about typing out lists to my clients I wouldn't know about it.   18. I have clients whose bookkeeper does the payroll and also processes accounts payable/receivable invoices. Currently we can't have submit/draft only invoice access AND payroll access. This means that if they want to do payroll, they also get access to approval of invoices. Can we please create a user role where draft/payroll access is combined?

  19. It is far more common place and practical to set a give day of the week to send payment batches. I would assume that most businesses are not firing off payments every day of the week for every individual invoice (ie based on x number of days after invoice/bill date).

    That being said, I also believe it is far less common to be offering or to be offered payment terms of old (ie x days after EOM).

    It is and has been common place in our industry for more than 20 years, that suppliers provide payments terms of x days…

  20. As a firm of around 25 accountants, we all may need access to a particular client at any point in time. Currently however, the client is aware of each individual user (i.e. 25 users) rather than an as a practice.

    It would be therefore be good if Xero operated like Sage or QBs whereby the client only sees the practice as having access to their data.
