AU Payroll - Create a report that shows when a salary change was actioned
Hi Guys, I'm not sure if this has been raised previously, but would like a payroll report that will detail employee salary changes and the date they changed.

AU Payroll - Allocate annual leave, sick leave and superannuation to a Project/Job
Currently Xero does not assign annual leave and public holiday to a project/job as timesheet doesn't have this function.
Superannuation generates from payroll (pay run) , however, there is no place to allocate superannuation to different projects/jobs as well.2 votes -
Timesheets AU - Allow employee's to add notes in 'Total hours worked' earning rate
Inside Xero Me, when you set your Timesheet type to "Start and end times" you can add notes for working days.
It would be great if we could add notes when we have our Timesheet type set to "Total hours worked".
As an employee, not being able to add a note & select an earning type is inconvenient and can cause confusion which leads to slower timesheet approvals

AU Payroll - Enter kilometres into timesheet
The ability for an employee to be able to enter the number of kilometres travelled each day. This number being able to filter through to the pay run so the employer can pay an allowance of cents per kilometre.

Leave policy
I want to be able to create a new leave policy but there is currently no functionality for this. The existing leave policies are limited and do not allow for leave to be loaded from a specific date, only the start anniversary or 1st Jan, or to be accrued gradually. I have some clients who set their leave from the first date of their financial year eg. 1st May each year. It would be useful to either have this leave policy loaded by Xero for provide the ability to create new leave policies.

NZ Payroll - Sick leave schedule of accrual

If you're just getting started with Xero (from 5 August 2024) you can now set up the Sick leave entitlement date for an employee.
We know people in the idea here are existing payroll users and we can assure you we're working to also develop this for existing customers. There are a few more intricacies to work through from what already exists to the new. I'll be back to share when there's more news on this and when you can get access to this too. Thanks

AU Payroll - Timesheet approvers
I have different managers responsible for different employee timesheets so therefore I would really like the ability to authorise specific managers to employees. Am still using mostly paper timesheets because of the massive deficiencies in the XeroMe ones (think is one of the many reasons).
I don't think its appropriate that anyone authorised can access all timesheets as it does nothing but create confusion and the potential to authorise the wrong ones. Also unnecessarily time consuming.
Is it possible to please add some tickboxes/controls to remove this hurdle?11 votes -
AU Payroll - Keep a record of date/time timesheet was entered
Add an automated time record of the time that the timesheet entry was recorded. We can then ensure that our team are entering their timesheets throughout the day as they work on files.

AU Payroll - Update historic tracking when Employee Group is changed
It would be a great addition to be able to allocate employees to a particular employee group and from this run historical employee summary reports by employee.
At present when setting up tracking categories the tracking in employee reports will only track payruns once the employee groups are setup. Any historical payruns are not included. This makes it difficult to compare periods or look at employee group reports for the year to date.
There should be an ability to apply the employee grouping tracking to all or some of the historical payruns.

NZ Payroll - Ability to display annual earnings on payslips
Apparently this functionality is enabled on the AU payroll system, but not NZ!
Essentially, it would be great if an employee's annual salary figure could be displayed on their payslips. Given that this is already an option within Xero Payroll for Australia, surely this is an easy addition for Xero Payroll for New Zealand.

UK Payroll - Option to backdate SMP after a pay increase
Allow users to change weekly SMP amount after a payrise to allow simple updates to extra SMP owing without having to delete all previous payruns back to the maternity leave start date.

AU Payroll - Ability to calculate Super accruals for U18s working less than 30hrs/wk
Currently, Xero lists a super accrual for employees under the age of 18 when they earn over $450/mth. However, it doesn't take into account how many hours that employee works per week. Under 18s are not eligible to be paid super unless they work over 30 hours per week (even if they earn over $450/mth), but Xero doesn't recognise this. Unfortunately this shows up a s liability for the employer, even though a liability doesn't exist. I know that it can be worked around in the pay run, but it just means extra work for the payroll admin - particularly…

NZ Payroll - Payslip notes
Could we have the ability to add the amount paid to a Deduction.
(A staff member messaged me the other day asking if the $450 showing on his pay slip was the amount he had left to pay for tools deductions or the amount he had paid. After checking I saw it was the amount he had paid and he has $468.93 left to pay.)
Q: Is there any way to add the amount he has left to pay for tools to the pay slip.

Payroll - Hide Leave Balances on payslip for selected employees
It would be good if you could hide leave balances on individual employee payslips. The hide/show leave balances on payslips is a global setting applying to all employees. We have a scenario where the employ moved from part time to casual. They had leave balances as a part time employee, but don't have them as a casual but the zero leave balances still appear on their payslip.

AU Payroll - Add expire date for Time Off in Lieu
According to different awards Time off in Lieu is suppose to expire in 6 months time if not used. Currently you can only bank and take Time off in Lieu. It would be great if Xero could automatically expire hours not used as this is a common practice in many employee Awards.

UK Payroll - Change payroll journal date
The Payroll Journal dates are currently fixed to be the Pay Date, which is incorrect for any business that has hourly paid employees which must pay after end of month, when all hours are calculated.
Every month all of our P&L figures are wrong because of this. Nobody wants to have to waste time doing loads of manual journals every month, which have the potential for mistakes, when Xero has created a system which is supposed to automate this process.

AU Payroll - More user-friendly Timesheet filters
The current screen and filters for Xero timesheet is not user-friendly. In particular, firstly, it would be great if the Employee Name filter allowed you to type and search. Secondly, if the Employee Name filter could include multiple names that would be useful.
Lastly, not in the filters, but the tick boxes for each timesheet - if the tick box was bigger and next to the line, instead of in the timesheet line this would help. The way it is at the moment, it is too easy to accidentally go into a timesheet instead of ticking it to select for…2 votes
