AU Payroll - Set up birthday and apprenticeship anniversaries reminders in Xero Payroll
It would be very helpful if there were the ability to set up Reminders in Xero Payroll for certain dates such as birthdays and apprenticeship anniversaries so that you would know to change the employee's Pay Rate accordingly.

UK Payroll - Pension file to display gross earnings
PAPDIS file download to include total Gross Salary and not just the Salary with the £520 not pensionable deducted and the pension provider we use (Creative) expects this in their upload. EVery month I have to edit Gross Pensionable Pay for all employees to add the £520 on the PAPDIS CSV I download.

Payroll UK - See hourly rate for overtime pay items when employee is on an annual salary
We would definately want to see the hourly rate and hours for overtime for staff on annual salaries.
At the moment the overtime hours are printed but not the rate of pay for the overtime.7 votes -
UK Payroll: Report that shows all employee's current Hourly Rates
In Sage, we used to be able to run a report that allowed us to export all our employees hourly rates, so yearly pay rises were easy to plan from.
There isn't a way to do this in Xero - so my suggestion is to have a payroll report, similar to the employee details report, that allows you to see all employees hourly rates.9 votes -

NZ Timesheets - Set default pay calendar for timesheet review
When go in to view/approve timesheets have the ability to set a default pay calendar to use (currently all pay calendars including archived pay calendars come up). And the pay calendar for last week (defaults to the current week which means need to scroll down and repeat each time you view/check a new employee). Not very time efficient

UK Payroll: Pay apprenticeship levy through Xero
I have a client that needs to apply the Apprenticeship levy and this is not available on Xero Payroll as this is normally a function for large companies and not small companies that Xero are focusing on. This is a small company, but do form part of a large UK group therefore are sucked into reporting this to HMRC. Can this function be integrated into Xero payroll to be switched on when needed? When an employee is off sick you should be able to open and input the start date and then save, to input the end date when the employee returns to work.

AU Payroll - Include Salary Sacrifice amounts when calculating HECS/STSL deductions
When a staff member has a HECS debt or other Student Loan selected AND is salary sacrificing - the Student loan amount is only calculated on the GROSS amount AFTER the salary sacrifice however when the staff member has gone to do their tax return, they have a tax bill because the ATO looks at the taxable income as an amount INCLUDING the salary sacrifice so via Xero not enough PAYGW has been withheld - can this be amended?

More than four bank accounts for employees: It would be helpful if we could have more than four bank accounts for employee wages to be split into. A minimum of 6 would be good as a few employees have asked for money to be split into more than four accounts.

We get funding to pay for staffing overtime. Would be great if we could create a specific overtime to come out of this funding pot. Then we'd be able to see how the funding has been spent and provide evidence that we've used the money for extra staffing.

Please add an opening balance for the Working Holiday Maker tax rate
When a Working Holiday Maker (WHM) reaches the earning threshold of $45000 they must be taxed 32.5% (instead of 15% prior to $45K per financial year). When an employee is set up in Xero as a WHM this tax calculation is automatic as along as the full $45K was earned with the current employer. If the employee has earned $45K prior to starting with a new employer Xero will calculate the WHM tax as 15% instead of 32.5% and there is no option to set an opening balance.…

UK Payroll: Time Off - Add 'Days' view to holiday allowance (Instead of just 'Hours')
Offering a simple update to the Xero system which would dramatically improve one grey area:
I had a discussion with my team and it's a common topic that keeps coming up - we find it very awkward having the 'Time Off' allowance displayed in 'Hours'.
Just like some other tracking systems, they allow you to see your 'Time Off' as 'Days' which is much easier to glance at - instead of having to continuously calculate hours, which takes time and can cause confusion on some occasions.
We would all very much appreciate it if you at least give the option…

UK Payroll: Run reports on draft pay runs
To allow the payroll team to run reports to runs checks on the payroll before submitting the payroll. This would avoid sending numerous automatic FPS reports to HMRC.

NZ Payroll - Customise the Annual Earnings Certificate
Need the option to customise the tax years for the entities who don't have March 20XX balance date e.g. December balance date in financial settings.
This still shows the annual certificate as at 31st March.

Timesheets: Daily approvals
Weekly Payroll calendars and get paid monthly.
It would be advantageous if timesheets can be submitted daily and approved daily.
Reason: approved cannot remember hours staff worked last 30 days. approver has to make a note of hours and then refer to notes when approving timesheets submitted.31 votes
