  2. I had a situation recently where we increased an employees salary but they wanted to reduce their working hours by 80%. The salary is based on 1 FTE. There is no way to actually do this in Xero Payroll. If I put the FTE salary in (to recognise the actual approved salary increase) and set working hours to 8 hours a day 4 days per week the 1 FTE salary is paid out in full over the year. But it should only be 80% of that. So I had to enter 80% of FTE and reduce the actual work hours…

    Hi everyone, an update to my earlier message:


    This change was specific to users of the Australian payroll.


    Apologies, and we'll shift this idea back to 'Submitted' so we can continue to track and share if there are developments in New Zealand Payroll.


    However, at the moment this is not in the team's plans.

  4. I would like Xero to automatically lock the ABN on a client's file after the first STP event has been lodged. This will prevent clients changing the ABN when they change the entity's structure and reporting STP incorrectly across two ABNs. Undoing this mess is a nightmare.

  6. Xero feature to add pay items by default to payslips even after timesheets are approved.

    The issue we face now is that once a timesheet has been approved , if we go back into the payslip, those defaults item disappears and we need to manually pick those from the drop down list.

    It would be great to have that feature where earnings rate items are saved even after the timesheets are approved.This will also save us time in choosing, extra pay items such as commission, vehicle claims, bonus etc. from the list.

  7. Termination reason.
    Can we please have the termination reason to show in the payslip in the pay run so it can be reviewed without having to post the pay run and go in to the employees settings to check.

  8. Have a paid parental leave pay item so that a balance can be input and 'drawn down' on. The employee and the employer have clear visibility on how much time has been taken and how much is left.

    Since STP PH2 compliance has come in, paid parental leave has just become an earnings pay item and not a leave pay item.

    The workaround of running the Payroll Activity Summary or Transaction Listing Summary report to keep track of the earnings processed for the employee, is onerous and not available to the employee.

  9. For employees who use Xero My Payroll, if you are a Payroll Admin user, you can grant employees authority to approve leave. The option for Timesheet approval should also be there, it is available in other countries but not NZ.

  11. I'm an experienced chartered accountant relatively new Xero user. I'm flummoxed by the inclusion of payroll transactions in the "bills to pay" section. While the detail is hidden from some users, some personal payroll transactions (related to overpayment) have become viewable by users without payroll access. Even summary transactions should not be viewable by people without payroll access.

    All payroll transactions should be in a separate section to avoid confusion and any breach of privacy.

    I cannot, for the life of me, see the rationale for including payroll transactions in this area in the first place.

  14. My team member complained about the privacy of Xero me Overview page.

    The page lists the payslip information on default. It is considered a risk of privacy exposure when people open Xero Me in the office area.

    Maybe it would be good to add a funtion in Xero Me overview page to Hide the payslip information.

    You might've noticed that we've recently added a new button to the Payroll menu - Payroll History.

    This report keeps track of all the changes recorded in your Payroll History tabs and can be filtered by employee. You can then search 'Notes' to view all of an employee's notes in full on one page.

    Whilst this page can't be exported, you can print the resulting page, or copy the values to a blank excel sheet.

  17. Hi, requesting an improved memo setting within payroll. Can we have more setting for memo? for an example a font, format (bold, italic, strike and understrike) and repeating memo.
    Example, a quite unique bonus system for a certain employee and we would like to show her the description for the bonus. we would like to put it on a smaller font size with italic format.

  18. I would like to have the ability to reflect a new increase from the agreed-upon date. Often, salary reviews occur after the financial year-end and need to be backdated. However, Xero does not allow for backdating when other payroll systems do. You have to make a note of the actual start date, which isn't reflected in any reporting, making it not very useful.

    Additionally, there should be the ability for an advanced support person to modify information, enabling them to roll back a change. I recently encountered an issue where third-party software changed the review date of a salary to…

  19. Can you please create the functionality to send the payslips to both the employees and the employers.

    Currently payslips can only be sent to one email address when being sent by Xero. A second email address can't be added to an employee's record for payslips to be sent to.

    It would be beneficial to be able to send them via Xero to both the employee and employer.

  20. Link the data already on file in the Pay Templates directly to the Employees Time sheet. Or at least remove the ability for Employees to view ALL pay items on their time sheet. This creates friction among Employees and angst re different levels that they may not be on. Despite the fact they can't see a dollar amount. Even if I need to create a new Time Sheet Template as long as ALL pay item are hidden on the time sheet from the Employee point of view. Seems an easy fix. get it done please.
