  1. Termination reason.
    Can we please have the termination reason to show in the payslip in the pay run so it can be reviewed without having to post the pay run and go in to the employees settings to check.

  2. In order to track and approve "Working from Home" requests it would be useful if Xero would enable pay item ("Working from Home") to be created that would function in the same manner as a leave category but was not leave (i.e. would not be reported to the Tax Office as a type of leave).
    That way employees could apply to work from home, as they do annual leave, and approved working from home hours would automatically appear on the leave calendar.

  4. Currently payroll is only able to child support as a deduction.

    In Australia, there is a protected amount that employee needs to earn before the deduction is taken out of their pay. There isn't a function that will allow this currently.

    Payroll officers manually have to keep track of this and remove the deduction if protected amount is not reached. Small businesses with a few employees would be able to keep track but for the likes of a bigger business with more than 20+ employees, this would be a nightmare.

  6. It would be great if we could pay our employees similar to how we can process a batch payment in XERO for bills. At the moment I am having to go into the bank account at the end and pay each employee individually.

    Is there another way to do this ? I may be missing something.

  7. I'm an experienced chartered accountant relatively new Xero user. I'm flummoxed by the inclusion of payroll transactions in the "bills to pay" section. While the detail is hidden from some users, some personal payroll transactions (related to overpayment) have become viewable by users without payroll access. Even summary transactions should not be viewable by people without payroll access.

    All payroll transactions should be in a separate section to avoid confusion and any breach of privacy.

    I cannot, for the life of me, see the rationale for including payroll transactions in this area in the first place.

    Appears that you're based in Cayman Islands, Steve. When setting up your Xero org this will have set the region as Global, which doesn’t have Payroll.

    Our Global edition of Xero has the pay run feature, which is a simple payrolling tool.

    As this is a more simple payroll feature, when a pay run is processed it posts a transaction to be paid into the 'bills to pay' screen, like you described.

    If you'd like to have the UK regional payroll product and submit to the HMRC, you'll need to set up a new organisation as paying taxes in the UK.

  8. Suggestion? Please fix the Salary Sacrifice % of Earnings to include all gross earnings, not just payroll items selected for SGC.

    Currently Xero will only apply a Salary Sacrifice % amount to any payroll item that is selected for SGC. If an employee chooses to Salary Sacrifice a % of their gross earrings that may include overtime worked, a manual calculation work around is required.

  10. My team member complained about the privacy of Xero me Overview page.

    The page lists the payslip information on default. It is considered a risk of privacy exposure when people open Xero Me in the office area.

    Maybe it would be good to add a funtion in Xero Me overview page to Hide the payslip information.

    You might've noticed that we've recently added a new button to the Payroll menu - Payroll History.

    This report keeps track of all the changes recorded in your Payroll History tabs and can be filtered by employee. You can then search 'Notes' to view all of an employee's notes in full on one page.

    Whilst this page can't be exported, you can print the resulting page, or copy the values to a blank excel sheet.

  14. I would like to have the ability to reflect a new increase from the agreed-upon date. Often, salary reviews occur after the financial year-end and need to be backdated. However, Xero does not allow for backdating when other payroll systems do. You have to make a note of the actual start date, which isn't reflected in any reporting, making it not very useful.

    Additionally, there should be the ability for an advanced support person to modify information, enabling them to roll back a change. I recently encountered an issue where third-party software changed the review date of a salary to…

  15. We need to pay two different groups of employees from two different bank accounts. Having to change the payroll settings each time I do a pay run (to change the bank account) leaves far too much room for error. Can there be an option to select which bank account you want to use for each pay group PLEASE!!?

  16. Can you please create the functionality to send the payslips to both the employees and the employers.

    Currently payslips can only be sent to one email address when being sent by Xero. A second email address can't be added to an employee's record for payslips to be sent to.

    It would be beneficial to be able to send them via Xero to both the employee and employer.

  17. Link the data already on file in the Pay Templates directly to the Employees Time sheet. Or at least remove the ability for Employees to view ALL pay items on their time sheet. This creates friction among Employees and angst re different levels that they may not be on. Despite the fact they can't see a dollar amount. Even if I need to create a new Time Sheet Template as long as ALL pay item are hidden on the time sheet from the Employee point of view. Seems an easy fix. get it done please.

    Thanks for your support here, everyone. We appreciate all the valuable feedback regarding logos on payslips when using Pay Run. 

    To be open and upfront we don't have direct plans for making this change any time in the near term.

    Right now, you could consider printing payslips on a company letterhead with the logo already pre-printed.

  19. It would be beneficial for an employee to record all hours worked in the timesheet including hours to be allocated as TOIL Accrual
    i.e. employee works 35 hours, 30 hours ordinary and 5 hours to TOIL accrual?
    Then when the employees wishes to take the TOIL, they submit a Leave Request as per existing functionality.

    Currently the employee needs to separately notify payroll regarding hours worked to be allocated to TOIL Accrual. And this doesn't go through the Supervisor Timesheet Approval process.
