  2. We sometimes get Credit Notes which change the price of the items. We don't want to credit the whole item, simply want to adjust the price but Xero doesn't seem to have a straightforward option for this.

  3. There should be a way to input dates when we want to split the payment to multiple items (invoices/bills) when we reconcile (e.g. cash code or find and match).

    Right now, if I want to input multiple invoices/bills that is linked to a one payment, all invoices/bills will need to have same date as the payment date which is technically incorrect.

    Hi Rebecca, you can manually enter a payment amount and date of payment on an invoice or bill? - Meaning if you need the payment date to differ to the date of the statement line imported this could be manually entered on the invoice or bill pre-hand and matched to the one payment when reconciling. 


    Alternatively, when reconciling a transactions through find & match in Xero you have the option to 'split' where you can apply a set amount of the payment to the transaction rather than the full amount. 

  4. Our firm would like to utilize file storage within Xero for our clients, but we have a few suggestions based on how we use our current platform for files. We would like to see that the person uploading a document to the files can lock the document so that other users cannot delete it (i.e. minute book), that the documents stored in the files are live (i.e. live spreadsheets) so that items don't need to be constantly downloaded and uploaded and mass downloads for when a client is being offboarded.

    Purpose: To make Cheques look more professional, as Payee name only shows above the address field.

  7. Show the total amount of Domestic Reverse Charge VAT on an invoice, to make it clear to the customer what is due by them.

    It is not necessary to show the VAT amount on each line, when it is the same for the whole invoice.
    While Xero may be compliant with HMRC, it is not right for businesses who are being repeatedly asked for this information to be shown on invoices. It would be a simple fix for Xero as the functionality is already in place.

    This is on a discussion thread with plenty of users requesting the same thing.

  8. Font size of Depreciation Schedule

    The more assets the smaller the font gets, Some columns can be taken out,but we do not want that. There should be the flexibily to choose portrait & landscape and over how many pages the schedule will be generated.

  10. Most of our clients (and I imagine many small businesses in the U.S.) use a hybrid reporting basis. Basically, short term assets and liabilities are recorded using the cash basis while long term assets and liabilities are recorded using the accrual basis.
    Therefore, for example, this will result in sales being recorded when cash received but depreciation and amortization expense are recorded monthly. This method of reporting also results in the accounting basis being more similar to tax basis.

  12. Timesheet entry for hours in previous payrun. This allows employees who missed an timesheet entry to add their hours in . Quickbooks has this ability and it saves the employer from having to do a manual entry on the employees behalf.

  16. When creating a schedule in the Notes to the Financial Statement, at present you can't include an opening balance at the schedule level, only once you have created a group within the schedule. It would be useful, if this could be done. Other reports like the Statement of Changes in Equity do have this option, so it should not be difficult to include this.

  17. When I select a supplier or customer, the list of invoices start off with the date I started using xero 2013.
    Could we change this to make the most current at the top of view instead of scrolling to the bottom.
    The way I currently view is:
    Contacts, supplier, Name, view recent bills report.

Prior to the upgrade, if you were a labour hire firm and had contractors who were not a company but used their TFN, you could select the box to allow additional tax deductions for HELP / HECS debts. With the new Phase 2 STP, Xero have confirmed that if you have labour hire using TFN's and they have a hecs debt you cannot check the box and will need to manually calculate the hecs amount to deduct each payrun.   19. Currently, there is not a report which will show all companies in one report with their address, name and opening balances.

    It is frustrating having to individually display/export each contact and then add the balances to the exported document.

    It would be great if this feature could be made available as soon as possible.

    Hi MoGio, if this is for viewing your customers you might find Smart Lists allows you to accomplish what you need? 

    This list can then be exported from your org. 


    It would be good to get more detail on how this data in one view would help your business in it's day-to-days. 

  20. The 'new' format has made it exceptionally tedious to accept payments and send receipts. PLEASE streamline it

    • Put the send receipt link back on the payment confirmation page
    • Allow easy tab/character type to select things
    • Open PDFs in browser with the print feature triggered like every other commerce website does. LESS CLICKS!

    1) Approve the Invoice
    2) Click into payment section. Tab to select account (assuming current balance and date), tab to Reference to enter Check #, and click Add Payment
