UK Payroll - Ability to process prior year employment allowance claims through Xero payroll
At the moment this isn't an available feature, and HMRCs basic PAYE tools need to be used. It would be good to see this as an option in Xero.
120 votesHi team, we have an exciting opportunity for a few customers to come meet some of our Xero team who are working hard to improve payroll for you
You'd get a chance to tell us your honest experience with using Xero for payroll, as well as get a tour of the Xero London office!
If this sounds like something you'd be interested in and are available on Monday Sept 30, 1:45 - 3:15pm and could come into our Xero London office, share your details in our form here.
We have a limited number of spots, so sign up as soon as you can.

Quotes - Ability to request signature
Instead of having the client simply click on "Accept" quote, they should be prompted to actually digitally sign the quote. If there is for example two people as the contact, then both of these owners need to sign the quote for it to be accepted.
21 votesThanks for the idea, Pilar. It'll be good to get sense of the appetite for this here.
While this isn't something we have planned at present, perhaps you could make use of an advanced branding template and specifying the need for a signature via the Quotes terms and conditions?
We have a discussion around customising with docx. templates where others in community often help one another - you're welcome to join

New invoicing - Ability to add Account Code within the invoice
It would be helpful and efficient to be able to make or add an account code straight from the "account code" dropdown in the bill/invoice/journal without needing to go to chart of accounts to make a new one. Currently, users still need to go to the chart and then go back to the bill/invoice/journal but since this refreshes the page, it erases all the data already filled up in the invoice.
21 votesHi team, as mentioned in our last update here our team were looking into improvements.
You may have already noticed but we made a change since this was initially raised so when you select '+ Create new account' at the top of the dropdown list in the Account field, the Chart of Accounts screen will open in a new tab. Fro here you can create the account, and when you return to the invoice, the new account is instantly available for selection.
We are still considering future improvements of enabling account creation directly within new invoicing, so I'll update if there's any news of this to share, here.

Contacts - Option to exclude contacts from marketing notification
it would be great if there was a tick box for being to select if a contact wants to be excluded from marketing contact. if there was a tick box, it would be handy to be able to generate a report showing those who you can contact and those who have opted out, and being able to export that data to excel. i know xero is a finance platform rather then a direct crm however it just seems that for small businesses especially this would be a great tool and as xero does generate reports and exports to excel anyway i feel this would be good way of tracking this detail.

Contacts - Generate Statements with different currencies
Right now it's not possible to run the statements for a contact having different currencies. The statements will show the outstanding amount owed according to the default financial setting currency of the contact. It would be nice if we invoice a customer in different currencies to be able to produce one statement showing the balance even if it convert the other currencies to the default currency. Or produce different statements selecting the different currencies each time without having to go change the default currency in the contact each time.

Contacts - Add notes/categories to contact email addresses
It would be really helpful to be able to add a note/comment next to contact email addresses. Such as "Use if sending a remittance", "Only use for purchase orders" or "Business owner - only email if urgent". These comments could sit under or beside the email address in the contact's edit section so that it doesn't crowd the side bar of information. That way we don't annoy the customer by sending some emails to the wrong account and we also don't need to keep sticky notes for such specific customer details for each of our many clients.

Bills - Automatically calculate Unit Price from a Quantity and Line Total
I have a bill to enter from a supplier with around 40 line items.
The supplier does not list unit prices on their invoice, so i do not have accurate unit prices to enter for each line item to match the line item total.
This means i have to calculate and enter each line item unit price individually in order to match each line item total.
If i could enter the line item total and qty, with xero automatically calculate/enter the unit price, this will make entry of these bills significantly quicker.4 votes -
AU Payroll - Set up birthday and apprenticeship anniversaries reminders in Xero Payroll
It would be very helpful if there were the ability to set up Reminders in Xero Payroll for certain dates such as birthdays and apprenticeship anniversaries so that you would know to change the employee's Pay Rate accordingly.

Batch Payment - Ability to 'Bundle' Source Documents with Batch Payment Summary Report
It would be great if there was an option to automatically attach the supplier source invoices to the batch payment summary report.
For example, where an SME has an in-house accounts person raise the batch payment for approval, you would have the option to not just download the batch summary report but include the attached files as well (i.e. the supplier invoices).
Currently you have to down load the batch payment summary and attach the invoices separately. Whilst accounting practices may have document manager packages that can do this for them, SME owners may not and this feature would be very handy.

Remittance - Select & send from Account Transactions screen
It would be great to have the ability to have a ‘send remittance advice’ button under the accounts transactions page of the bank accounts to easily tick the payments you want to send a remittance advice of to suppliers. Perhaps next to the ‘remove & redo’ button. This will save a lot of time having to go into a payment transaction. I know that the remittance advices can be send for bulk payments but this needs to be done before the payment is removed if various suppliers are paid in the same batch. The same option can perhaps be added for “send receipt” for customer payments received to enable the ability to choose various transactions and not have to go into each transaction.

Ability to print blank cheques
I would really like the ability to print blank cheques. Right now, when you preview the cheque there is not an option for it to be blank. If it was blank, I could have some cheques ready for those times we need one quick, and then I could enter it in Xero after. I am really hoping your team can add this feature, I can't be the only person that would benefit from this. I look forward to hearing from you.

Bank Rules - Set Payee when contact name shown within the description field
I want Xero to automatically set contact names when importing transactions from bank feeds, but this doesn't happen on of my several 'bank feeds' where the 'payee name' is blank and the actual payee data appears in the 'description' field instead.
This means that the option to set the contact name directly from the payee field (when using bank rules) doesn't work and I have to manually enter the contact name for every transaction when reconciling the account transactions. Extremely tedious and labour intensive!
When I edit section 2 of the bank rule the choices on the picklist are 1. "During bank reconciliation", 2. "To and existing or new contact", or 3. "From the payee" - none of which can auto-populate the contact name for me.
Can you please add "From the description" as a 4th option to the picklist please?
Kind regards,
Chris

UK Payroll - Add tracking categories to automatic statutory recovery journal
Xero have added an automatic journal which credits salaries with the amount recovered from the government. This is great except we use tracking categories for all transactions in the P&L and the automatic journal leaves it blank. We have to post a manual journal to correct the posting. It would be useful for the automatic journal to include tracking.
