Navigation - Update the user interface
Not a major one but I feel the whole online site needs a facelift.
Information is not given in an easy to process way and this can make navigating the program more complicated than it seems to be.I recently transferred over from MYOB and where I feel the general program of Xero is better for ease of reconciling etc. some tasks can feel super overcomplicated and difficult to carry out due to poor layout and outdated visuals. This is something MYOB seem to have done well, Xero seems clunky and outdated in comparison, whilst having all the programming and processes to back it up. Seems a let down.

Bills - Don't change the Description when editing the Item column on lines
When editing a bill, say the item column it removes the data that is on that line. Can this be avoided?
2 votesHi Robert, coming back across your idea here I want to be open that we don't have any plans for this. The Item field is driven by your inventory products and services, which is why it auto description and other fields with the contents saved for that item. If you have pre-filled the description column and need to change the item we'd recommend copying this so once you update the items you can paste your text back in the description column.

Sales Overview - Add column with invoice line details
add column in invoice overview. Hi, I was wondering if I can add a column in the program in invoices overview. When I used sage 50 account before, I could see a list of invoices and first few lines of what the include. Now when I go to a customer and would like to check how much I charged for particular job and I don't know when it was done, I need to open each individual invoice to see description. My invoices usually include one to three lines and would be very helpful to see in one of the column what is in each invoice.

Contacts - Add screen scroll bar to allow better view when minimised
It would be good for the lower scroll bar to display when a screen is minimised (in contacts). Currently, if you minimise the screen (as I do when I am comparing entries in another external on-line tab, for example, with my HMRC account, or my on-line bank account) you can only see the left of the minimised screen. The information does not compact into a full but smaller screen, neither is there a scroll button to scroll the information to the right. So if I want to look at the amounts of a customer etc, the screen has to be in full screen view, which then makes comparing with the other external open tab very difficult. On further investigation I had another look and it appears there is a 'scroll right' bar, but you have to scroll all the way down to the end of the screen to get to it, so when you then scroll across to read the information on the right, the information on the left is then hidden, so once you scroll back up to the top, the date or customer name is then hidden. So it is hard to compare information loaded onto xero with, for example, bank statements from my actual bank.

UK Payroll - Link payroll journal to pay run
I think it would be a good idea to facilitate the location of payroll reports. Please could you create a link to payroll journals within the payroll "journal reports".

Currently, Xero offers download options for various pension providers, but we've noticed that True Potential is not among them.
We propose the addition of a CSV download option specifically for the True Potential pension provider.
Given that Xero already possesses the necessary data, incorporating this feature would eliminate the need for manual data entry and formatting, reducing the risk of errors and saving valuable time.

Xero Subscriptions - Split PDF invoices by client (not subscription type)
It would be great if Xero can change the PDF format of partner monthly subscription invoices by customer rather than subscription type.
This way the PDF can be forwarded to our Xero Blue practice file as a draft bill and hopefully the AI will extract each customer subscription as a separate line item within the bill so we an easily assign each line as an expense to each individual client.
Then the billable expenses will come through correctly when we raise sales invoices in XPM that integrate with our Xero Blue practice file as a draft invoice.
Currently only the CSV file does this that can be downloaded from our partner subscription invoice each month and we are entering the details manually to split between each client and then assign expenses line by line to each customer. It's very time consuming however I don't know of any other way (and am open to suggestions).

UK Payroll: Run reports on draft pay runs
To allow the payroll team to run reports to runs checks on the payroll before submitting the payroll. This would avoid sending numerous automatic FPS reports to HMRC.

Link explain claim/user ID to a contact
Since we ultimately want to see how much each employee is spending and since employees must be set up as a contact - We should be able to link the employees User Id to their contact. This way all the expenses submitted will show up as spend money transactions under the contact for each employee.
Obviously right now the employee could choose themselves as the contact when they submit the expense report but more often than not, they will not.
Having the contact linked to the user id will be particularly helpful for reconciling credit cards since the contact info shows on the reconciling screen and the credit card report is by employee.

Contacts - Tab to view associated Projects
You are currently unable to see the projects within the contacts tab against a contact within Xero.
This would be really helpful as I have some customers that have several projects on the go at one time. This would make it easier to go from one project to another for one client. It would also be a quick reference location. The added quotes, invoices and credit notes added to the contact has been a great step in simplifying contact management - the project listing would complete the loop.7 votes -
AU Payroll - Allow allowances to contribute towards other leave rates
With separating the All purpose allowances. Is there going to be a selection for SICK LEAVE and RDO in the future? (Currently Contributes to Annual and Overtime) only. There is a lot of room for error when you have 50 employees and you have manually adjusted the rate for every single employee!! I'm sure we are not the only company that has RDO and Sick Leave where the all-purpose allowances need to be included in the base rate. Could you please Add this option to the allowances pay item. We are unable to continue with STIP Phase 2 unless this happens.

So we have set up and had a lot of success with email templates in Xero. it would be useful to have the ability to have a default option for each contact (or group of contacts) a specific template for a specific reason eg new invoice or AR. so that everytime we go to email an invoice for example it preloads on a certain template.
Eg we have a number of clients that only speak read German and/or french so it would be nice to be able to set these contacts to default to use our German and/or French templates and brands as this will save us having to click through our templates each time o change from our default GBP.

26 votesHi Rory, while it's not possible to set up a default email template for a contact at present you can set a default currency & branding theme.
