Expense Claims - More functionality
Xero expenses has been with us for 5 years. There have been no significant feature upgrades despite us all paying extra for the privilege.
Basic functionality like searchability, proper alignment with bill functionality to search suppliers and see total engagement with suppliers, ability to include attachments (e.g. bill documents from expenses) to pass through to customer invoices, ability to add a markup to expenses (e.g. for common cost plus models) etc. - NONE, not a little, nothing, zilch, nada of this has been actioned by Xero and nobody seems to be available or interested in discussing it. Sales Invoices - Allow to have column for backorders
To have a column of back orders/negative items within the Sales Invoices.
Purpose: Users can easily enter back ordered items rather than doing extra steps of adding 1 more item in their inventory.

Related to the idea here - Exploring the ability to record negative inventory, or back order of stock in Xero is in our product teams plans. Contacts - Set default address to a Contact Group
Could there be an option to link an address for a contact group to members of that group?
We have many NHS customers who order under individual staff names but are linked to NHS Trusts. So for instance, John Smith, David Brown, Elle Davis may all work for Clydeside NHS.
We'd like to have them all grouped under "Clydeside NHS" (can do that) and be able to flag that they all share the same Billing Address which is an attribute of that Contact Group.
At present we have to maintain each separately and this doesn't help with spotting that they…

Bank Reconciliation - Account Transaction / Bank Statements - Pagination at top of page
Instead of having to scroll through the account transactions / bank statements to get to the bottom in order to change the page number you are on. Either having this bar at the top as well or also having this bar move wiht you so you can always change the page as needed.

Batch Deposit - More than 50 transactions
We need to deposit > 50 transactions on a daily basis. We can't marry up our remittances to our deposits recorded in Xero when done in multiple parts. It's messy and not workable for large volume businesses.

Bulk upload of check data into registers for printing using excel or third party. Not the same as paying via check bill payment.

Aged reports - View Credit note allocations
Just looked at the new Aged Payable report > Aged Payables Detail - it doesn't show credit notes which been allocated to invoices. This is very confusing as we can't reconcile against the statement. Please review the report and add in credit notes, even if they have been allocated to the Invoices, or advise which report I need to use when reconciling the account.

User roles - Give users with Invoice Only Access option to change online payments
Our administrator generates our invoices and has Invoice Only Access, we need her to be able to change whether an invoice is paid by GoCardless or not, one of our company owners has to do this at the moment which is an inconvenience, please change so users with Invoice Only Access have the ability to change online payments.

Inventory - Field on invoices to identify and order items as a ERP system
We are a manufacturing company - can i suggest a separate field in your Invoice screen to identify production lines that products will run down, and then another screen that allows the items assigned to that line to be arranged in the required production order. This is basically using Xero as an ERP system - we currently already do this in Xero to a certain extent through the information posted in the 'reference' field, but the last aspect is tricky in that we cannot order the production process without exporting to excel...., hence the request for a screen that we…

Reporting - Filter Inventory reports by Tracking
Please add ability to filter inventory reports by tracking codes, so you can see quality purchased and sold by tracking code.
31 votesHi team, while not available in the Inventory reports directly you could run the Receivable or Payable Invoice Detail reports where you'll find your can group and filter by Item and Tracking which should help you get a picture of quantities purchased and sold by category 🙂

Contacts - Ability to bulk edit Archived contacts
We have 1,782 “Archived Contacts” from mergers with other data following adoption of Xero Practice Management. The vast majority of these archived clients have the reference field completed with a 6 digit reference that we would like to re-use for the current clients.
Unfortunately the reference field needs to be unique and so we cannot apply this reference to the current contact until it is changed or deleted in the archived client.
Please can we have a bulk delete of the reference field for all 1782 archived clients (or add an extra digit if you cannot simply delete the reference…

Email to Bills - Ability to email CSV files as well as PDF
Presently, to create a draft bill in Xero from a bill that has been received in the csv format, the csv bill has to be imported manually. It would be easier to be able to email the csv bill to the unique bills email address and have a draft bill created in Xero.

Sales Overview - Add column with invoice line details

When I used sage 50 account before, I could see a list of invoices and first few lines of what the include. Now when I go to a customer and would like to check how much I charged for particular job and I don't know when it was done, I need to open each individual invoice to see description. Invoices - Add customer's ageing summary under their latest invoice
Including an aging summary of the respective client in the latest invoice would provide valuable insight and enhance the document's effectiveness.
We can always refer to statements in case details are required.

Cash coding - Add Item tab to cash coding
I am unable to go through cash coding as I am often required to apply a transaction to a pre set item, as some clients like more of a break down of what a transaction relates to. It would be good if you had an Item tab on cash coding so you can apply those transactions to an item all at once instead of opening each individual transaction up and entering an item.

Account Transactions Report - Ability to filter Source as 'Payroll Expense Journal'
When reviewing the 'Account Transactions' report in Xero there is an ability to filter by 'Source' type. However, only the 'Select all' option includes Payroll Expense Journals.
Considering I can filter around every other transaction type, I don't see why Payroll Expense Journals can't be added as a source option?
I know exporting to Excel works as a workaround - but considering every other source type is available adding one more shouldn't be difficult?
4 votesHi team, appreciate recent feedback when we recently merged this idea to this one. Understand that there's a bit of a difference in what's being asked between the two ideas, and we've unmerged to continue to track these ideas separately.
Being open there are no current plans to add a filter for Payroll expense journal to Source, however we will continue to get a sense of the interest in this and let you know if any progress is made, here.
