Bank account - Drag & drop option to change order of bank accounts
It would save so much time if there was the ability to drag and drop the bank account order in the bank accounts screen (so it changes the order in the drop down menus). It is very cumbersome clicking the bank accounts up one step at a time especially when you have over 30 bank accounts!

AU Payroll - Submit Casual Rate timesheets during the week and also the weekend
As you’ve found, right now it’s not possible to submit timesheets using the casual rate during the weekday and then also to be able to submit timesheets for the casual rate that applies on the weekend.
2 votesFrom your idea it sounds as if you'd like employees to be able to submit timesheets with start & end times and different earnings rates, Nathan? This isn't possible atm.
However, an option here where you're dealing with multiple earnings rates for an employee is to get them to submit timesheets using the 'Total hours worked'. This'll let them;
- record the number of hours worked per day, including partial hours
- record time spent at different earnings rates and tracking categories if used.
Your employees may need to edit the timesheet setting, by opening Xero Me, going to Timesheets > Settings and selecting 'Total hours worked'.

Invoicing - Follow up email after payment
It would be useful to be able to send an email to a customer xx days after an invoice is paid.
This could be used for all sorts of things from offering discounts on new orders to reminding them to leave a review for your service. A bit more of a CRM style feature but would help with business workflow and keeping actions in one place.

AU Payroll - Pay run history to show number of employees in each pay run
When looking at the Pay Run / Pay Run History page, please add number of employees in each pay run to the overview. We report on this each pay period and would make more sense to be shown here then having to click into the pay run or

Contacts - Form to request & capture details of a new customer or supplier
I have a client who is wanting to set up a vendor and queried about the ability to send a form to the potential vendor with information required directly from Xero
Unfortunately this is not an option at this time but I am wondering if this is something other businesses would use and how helpful this would be27 votes -
AU Payroll - Shearers tax scale
Currently you are able to select the tax scale Horticultural/Shearers but there is no default tax rate attached. Apparently if employee falls under this scale you need to select for reporting to ATO which means you have to then manually calculate tax when you do the pays which is not possible if you have multiple employees knowing which employee wants what rate as they all do not use the default. This also leads to errors if not picked up it doesnt calculate automatically. May I suggest that we urgently attention to have the default ATO tax scale rate included with the option of selecting withholding variation (yes/no) allowing the ability to enter a varied rate which is then picked up for each individual employee and calculcated correctly. The need for answering tax free threshold is then redundant also in this case and should be greyed out. This is a critical upgrade needed now. otherwise we have no option than to revert to just using withholding variation instead of marking employee as shearer.

UK Payroll - Report that shows all employee's current Hourly Rates
In Sage, we used to be able to run a report that allowed us to export all our employees hourly rates, so yearly pay rises were easy to plan from.
There isn't a way to do this in Xero - so my suggestion is to have a payroll report, similar to the employee details report, that allows you to see all employees hourly rates.10 votes -
UK Payroll - Automatically assign employee number when bulk importing new employees
There is a new feature on Xero Payroll that creates employee numbers automatically on employee creation. A great new feature, it gets my vote. It would be good if this worked for bulk import, e.g. by setting the employee number field in the import as blank. (When I tried this it didn't work).

Management report - Full Year forecast Report
In the old Xero reports as part of the management report, it was possible to run a report that showed month by month actuals for the FY to date then the budget month by the month for the rest of the financial year to give a full year forecast.
However, in the new Xero reports, this functionality has gone. Try and write my own report but the dates don't update automatically regardless of the reporting date you select (as confirmed by a Xero specialist)
So I can write a report that shows 4 columns - Jan - Apr actuals, then May - December budget and a total. BUT this can be run each month unless I re-write the report.
This is a fundamental report for businesses looking ahead and needs to be replicated in the new reports.

Contacts - Add 'invoice description' to Supplier & Customer activity feed
I would like to ask if there is a possibility of having on suppliers' and customers' activity bar (please see attached screenshot, what I mean) and one more column - bill/invoice description? I used to work with QuickBooks, and they had this feature, which was very helpful.

Cash Coding - Include columns for all statement line information
Can we please view more than the current bank statement lines in cash coding?
At the moment you can only view 4 bank statement lines in the cash coding tab. Date, Payee, Reference & Description.
We have found that sometimes we have clients using the Analysis Code, particulars or Code to reference details for the bank payment so when these come through to cash coding the view only items are all blank.4 votes -
Xero files - QR code to allow vendor to email cash purchase receipts to Xero
Say I go to a supplier and make a cash purchase. I use my debit card and then walk out with goods and a receipt. Scanning the receipt to Xero and coding the purchase if easy but I am pretty slack and normally lose the receipt before I get to scan it. What say, the vendor scans a QR code that I carry containing my email/Xero info and this allows the vendor's system to email me the purchase document. No paper and I can code the purchase when I am at my PC later in the day. Also means I am more likely to remember to charge the client if it is an item for a specific job. There will be other ways to do this without the need for a paper receipt from a cash purchase, this is just how I imagine it working.

AU Payroll - Add birthday notifications for staff
Could we include a notification when a staff member has a birthday? This has multiple benefits including allowing us to check if their award salary or benefits need to change and also be able to congratulate them on their birthday. Surely it wouldn't be a huge change to make but would be a unique and helpful change for many SME as I currently need to create a new Google calendar for staff birthdays, creating additional work especially when we have 50+ staff and low retention in hospitality. Thank you.
96 votesHi everyone, thanks for your feedback and votes on adding birthday notifications to Australian payroll - we understand how this could help with team celebrations and managing age-based award rate compliance.
After reviewing with our product team, this feature isn't currently on our roadmap, and we'll update the status to 'Not in Pipeline'. Right now, setting up an external calendar could help you track these important dates.
We appreciate you all taking the time to share your feedback with us, and will continue to watch the traction this idea receives through Votes. If there is any change, we will share an update here.

Transactions report - all info in one line per transaction (not a second PST line)
Report for "Account Transactions" should only produce one line per transaction.
Currently, the report splits off a separate line for the PST component of each transaction, adding "- PST" in the description and to the contact name, and pulls the PST amount out of "Gross".
I need an account transaction report that includes GST, PST and the unit price in "gross" on a single line per transaction. These gross values will match the bank statement, and have the description/reference/contact and the account(s) the transaction was coded to.
The easiest approach is to have additional columns to select from, and (critically) only one line per transaction. Columns could be: "Gross", "PST", "GST", "Net" ... so if a purchase was made on $100 with 5% GST and 7% PST, the line would look like:
Date / Purchased Item / $112 Gross / $7 PST / $5 GST / $100 Net / Description / Contact / etc.
Currently, to get that kind of report, I need to export a CSV and use spreadsheet magic to isolate out the PST lines, and then add the PST back into the "gross"!

Email to Bills - Ability to email CSV files as well as PDF
Presently, to create a draft bill in Xero from a bill that has been received in the csv format, the csv bill has to be imported manually. It would be easier to be able to email the csv bill to the unique bills email address and have a draft bill created in Xero.
4 votesHi team, as noted in my last update we have introduced a new feature to upload bills to your organisation - However to confirm this only supports JPG, PNG, or PDF file types.
Currently email to bills supports quite a few different file types however as noted here CSV is not one of them. We want to be upfront that at this point we don't have any plans for extending this feature to support CSV formatted files.

UK Payroll - Option to select when Employers NI is cleared against allowances
Currently Xero is set up to nil off both the Employer NI Expense GL and Liability GL as soon as payroll is run because employers NI contribution is always setoff against HMRC allowances.
However, it is important to have employers NI contribution cleared only when remittances are made to HMRC and when HMRC send allowances (which is always a month accrued). The allowances are setoff against the employers NI expense GL.
This treatment will allow the accountant to respond to remittances made to HMRC in terms of employers NI and allowances received from HMRC accordingly.
It will also allow the firm to know the total employers NI contributed or total allowances from HMRC so far in the year without going through the payroll report. And provides adequate reconciliations of HMRC allowances.
It is recommended that the current employers pension setup in Xero payroll where both the liability and expense are provided for should be adopted for employers NI setup.
