  1. We need to pay two different groups of employees from two different bank accounts. Having to change the payroll settings each time I do a pay run (to change the bank account) leaves far too much room for error. Can there be an option to select which bank account you want to use for each pay group PLEASE!!?

  2. Xero checks employees age against pay rate and that of the National Minumum Wage so it does not get missed. It's doesn't have to change it, just highlight thsat the employee's rate needs to ber changed

    Hi everyone, as part of the work we're doing here, we're looking to engage some small businesses as well as accountants and bookkeepers who use our Payroll functionality to try out our new prototypes and give us feedback.

  3. Have the option to accrue leave on other pay items. ie. Saturday rate has to be set up with its own rate per employee as each employee is on their own rate for Saturday and isn't a "mutplication of the ordinary rate". This also needs leave to accrue on it.
    Spoken to Xero adviser and they don't have a set up for this yet.

  5. I hope that there's separate columns for date and employee name as seen in the previous report as it's totally useful when summarising data for various period. For instance, when generating the old report, it's completely quicker to use the pivot table and other excel formulas to calculate the total hours work and the corresponding cost in a certain period and prepare a comparative report for various pay item/period and employee using the old payroll activity detailed report. It's a single payroll report where all the relevant information is included.

    Hiya team, thank you for sharing your feedback and letting us know the detail and why this is valuable to you. Based on feedback we received on the Employee name and Date columns the team have just released an update to the Payroll Activity Detailed report to include Employee name and Date as separate columns in the report and these will now show by default.

    This will help as noted when exporting and using the data for further analysis outside of Xero. 

  6. The problem is if you set a deduction item in payroll on Xero it doesn't give option to pick P&L nominal account, where reimbursements to employees should be coded. The only work around are journals, which is ineffective when you have clients posting payroll themselves and they need management reports each month, so you have to reanalyze and repost their payroll.

  7. We have requested Downloadable P11's to be made available so we can correct a mistake a previous Xero payroll provider made.
    This is not available in Xero which is causing considerable inconvenience and a lot more manual work.

    This would be a really good idea if this was brought into the payroll package.

  10. When using the Leave Paid out on Termination feature in xero, the paid out leave is recorded in the Holiday Leave Accrual category. This means we are unable to run a report showing the value of unused entitlements paid out on Termination. This is important information for Workcover Reconciliations etc. Please set up a report for Unused Leave Paid out on Termination.

  11. Average Employee Numbers in the Year

    As part of preparing accounts, the average employee number is often required. If this could be generated within Xero that would save time collating the number of employees per month and working out an average for the year. It could subsequently be used as working out the amount of revenue attributable to each staff member.

  12. Show pay items (hours) per day on pay slip. So the employee can check hours paid on given day in the pay period and are able to easily check their pay/hours against there records. In my case employees don't have access to timesheets in Xero but even if they did would make it easier to check in one place

  13. Add an additional pay frequency of 4-4-5 which is a very common pay frequency in the UK for service based businesses with hourly payrolls. Payroll is process in 4 week, 4 week and 5 week intervals over a year meaning essentially 4 x quarters of 13 weeks.

  15. It would be great if Xero Payroll could produce a Monthly P30 report which we can send to our clients with HMRC bank details and the Accounts reference, with the month reference on the end.
    Other payroll software do this and it is really helpful for our clients.

  16. Give the option of adding company sick pay entitlement, which counts towards sick leave, and then when company sick pay is exhausted, revert to SSP.

  17. Managers who have the ability to approve leave in Xero Me should be able to view historical leave requests they've approved so they can anticipate when staff are away. Currently, they cannot do this unless they have Payroll Admin access and a Xero account on a web browser. Not all managers are finance people and need to have this access.

  18. In service industries like hospitality salaried employees will work a different set of shifts each week across 7 days. Currently I have to set up a working pattern and if they phone in sick on a Saturday for example if that day isnt set as their working day (i.e we set them up as Mon-Fri for ease) we have to record the sick day on the Monday to ensure it is deducted. But in these industries the working days are different each week and they dont work on a set pattern. Need the ability to set that the employee works…

  19. When using Xero Payroll as an agent it would be better to be able to hide the agents Govt Gateway ID as well as the password. Could it be updated so that when you tick that you are submitting as an agent, both parts are hidden from the client?

  20. Has support considered the option to filter the leave balance report by employment status? When generating this report all employees are listed or only an individual employee. Why would we need the current balance of leave for terminated employees? I have some employees who have returned, so both are listed but I don't know which is active until I run the report on each.
