  1. Just an idea that might help a lot of businesses.
    We generate a lot of invoices over the span of one month, the feature of bank rules are amazing, but ineffective if the payment is a overpayment.

    I would like to have a way for Xero to have a Global setting to auto allocate overpayments to the oldest invoice for customers.

    Currently overpayments will go to the customer account and just lay there until manually allocated to an invoice.

  2. Create timesheet availability to Contractors set up in Xero payroll as Non employee.
    Currently this is only available to employees.

    Require the ability to process timesheets to pay Subcontractors for hours worked on site so Super is taken into account but PAYG is not applicable.
    Currently not available to STP2 category Contractor 'Non Employees'

  3. In the Business Snapshot all of the comparatives are to previous year. In a startup this isn't meaningful as prior year balances are nil, but month-to-month or quarter-to-quarter comparatives would be super useful. In established businesses also, monthly and quarterly comparatives can be very useful.

  4. It would be great if we could have an option to use find & recode to change to several accounts at the same time (similar to cash coding), rather than having to use the function over again each time. For example, if a client codes many transactions to general expenses, it would be useful to have a single screen where you can change the coding, with a column for "Current Account" and a second column for "New Account".

  6. Consolidate Depreciation posted to GL per asset category - currently my deprecation is reflecting per asset in the GL expense account. The Asset Register and Depreciation Schedule already serve the purpose of the per line item amount and basis for a reconciliation. Duplicating the detail adds a large amount of data into my GL ,especially when the asset base starts to grow. Please can it rather be consolidated in the GL per asset category per month ?

  8. Payroll Bill
    When submitting VAT Xero now allows you to create a bill that sits on the AP pending payment. Is it possible to have a bill create for Payroll taxes linked to payroll accounts and sits on AP pending payment? This will keep the debt much more visible for companies and make reconciling much cleaner.

  9. Currently you can add a bill / invoice without adding a invoice number or just typing a word or anything - example our debtors lady invoiced (Receivable invoice) a client and overwrited the invoice number (reference) to "Diesel R/Bay" so the invoice had no invoice number

  11. I would like to be able to have a remapping feature (similar to find and recode) but on a bulk stage. It is common that a business operation changes and the previous COA is no longer fit for purpose and updates are needed.

    This can be done by having a feature that presents the COA with a current a proposed column. The proposed is automatically mapped to the current if no answer is added. In the proposed there is a drop down item that allows you to remap all historical transactions to a different account or remap.

  12. Customers receive an email with "Pay Now" option to pay online with Stripe.
    Customers will, instead of clicking Pay Now, just call up with CC and ask to pay invoice.
    Having the Pay Now button in the invoice screen would make this so much easier to process.

    Just let me pay an invoice using credit card from within the invoice screen

  13. At a quick count there at least three different date selectors used in Xero. This makes it clunky for users and some date selectors are functionally outdated. Examples, the date selector used in Invoices (best) vs the one used in Reports (worst) vs the one used in Leave.

    Use the same date selector(s) across the entire product. One that allows for:
    - Keyboard entry of date(s), multiple formats eg 23/08/23 as well as 23 Aug 2023 (Invoices does this)
    - Shortcuts like 'This financial year' etc - where applicable

  14. When you look at an inventory item, it shows that you have that item on order, but it doesn't show you in the history and notes, what PO that the item is ordered on. All it shows in the history is the Bill's and the invoices.

    IT needs to show in the history the PO that the goods on order are ordered on.

  15. On the Bills page, the New Bill button has been moved top right. More distance to travel = more time wasted. Need to look harder to find it too because it isn't where it was and the New invoice button still is. No - the new colour doesn't help that much as I am colour blind. Could you please move the New bill button back to top left of the screen like the New invoice button ?

  16. We need the ability to see how many miles an employee has travelled within the tax year. This is so that we can follow HMRC guidelines in respect of the pence per mile that is paid to the employee. Currently the rules state that up to 10,00 miles can be reimbursed at 45p per mile and thereafter this rate is reduced to 25p per mile.

  17. Xero Me app no longer allows entry of allowances. Previously employees have had ability to enter their hours and any allowances attached on their templates but apparently since the change to STP2 they have stopped this ability which is crazy. Seems to be no point in using Xerome.

    Seeing we have just spent hours ensuring our clients have mapped the allowances correctly to STP2 categories not sure why this has been removed. Pls vote to have returned.

  19. Being able to filter on the Short-Term Cash flow would be very helpful. For example, if I create an invoice but haven't sent it yet, it's included in the projected income, but if I can tell the report to only show invoices that have been "Sent" it would only include invoices that have actually been sent to the client.

  20. Xero needs to include the field indicators on their printed cheques like all the other Canadian compliant software companies.

    Right now Xero directs Canadians to have their printer include the field indicators on the preprinted stock, but this makes alignment very difficult and most printers won’t. Even the companies that they suggest to provide the stock do not include it.
