User logins - Client to see a login by the practice, rather than individual users
As a firm of around 25 accountants, we all may need access to a particular client at any point in time. Currently however, the client is aware of each individual user (i.e. 25 users) rather than an as a practice.
It would be therefore be good if Xero operated like Sage or QBs whereby the client only sees the practice as having access to their data.

Statements - Attach outstanding invoices
It would be a time saver if copies of outstanding invoices were attached when emailing customer statements
42 votesHI team, while it's not possible to include links to all outstanding invoices when sending a statement I did want to make sure you're aware of the option to include a link to Outstanding bills when emailing an invoice to customer.
From this link your customer will be able to see a total and the individual invoices they have outstanding to pay with you - more on this here

Xero Accounting app - Reference in invoice heading
I have a long list of draft invoices, however in the app, I don't know what each one is unless I click on it? Why is the reference not in the heading? This would save a LOT of time for such a small feature.

Files - Add to new 'Credit Note'
I cannot attach a credit note file to a new credit note directly from Xero Files which is frustrating, it would be really helpful to have this as an option.

Cash Coding - 'Find and match' function on cash coding
I quite often take on Xero 'tidy up' jobs, there are sometimes hundreds of transactions unreconciled, meaning lots of pages to click through. Working through my different checks I find bills/invoices that have in fact been paid, and then have to click through numerous pages of unreconciled transactions to find the one I want to match. It would be super useful if you could implement the find and match function on the cash coding tab. Its so much easier to find the bank transaction from the cash coding list, by sorting it, so to be able to finish the matching process in this tab would be awesome.
Thank you

Branding - Ability to customise bill template
Invoice templates are editable, but bill templates are not.
Would like to be able to add searchable fields to a bill without removing those that are already there.35 votes -
Bank Reconciliation - Jump to transaction page
Would it be possible to have the option of jumping to the page a transaction is on, when searching through unreconciled transactions on the bank feed?
For example, you find the transaction inthe search bar, but then you need to flip through (sometimes dozens) of pages on the bank reconciliation screen to find it, to reconcile it. Would be amazing if we could have a 'jump to this transaction page' option.1 vote -
AU Payroll - Tracking Categories for Annual & Sick Leave reporting
In order to monitor expenses by venue, tracking categories in Payroll - giving staff the ability to log their time worked by venue - makes total sense. However, when staff take A/L or S/L, there is no ability to use a tracking category, so all these transactions go to the default 'unassigned'. The time involved in searching what makes up this 'unassigned' amount in a payroll of 35+ employees across 9 venues is astonishingly time-consuming, yet vital to the overall expense reports. Would love to have some time and effort put into this issue please Xero.

Manual Journals - Adjustments option for a selected customer
Add a section to manual journals so that you can make adjustments for a specific vendor (customer).
For example, our customer signed a contract for subscription for 12 months. I show deffered revenue and then every month I transfer part of this deferred revenue to revenue. It is very difficult to track whether all deferred revenue has been converted into revenue if it is not possible to keep records of revenue by counterparties, especially if multi-currency accounting.3 votes -

Xero Interface - Select/Highlight details on page without automatically following link
Select/Highlight Xero web page details without automatically following link
Most web links allow for text and links to be selected/highlighted by clicking, holding and dragging for additional options when the selection is right clicked (copy, print etc.)
It seems unintuitive when attempting to select/highlight (clicking and dragging over text) items in Xero, such as invoice numbers, that the page immediately follows the link as though clicked.
It is often useful to select text for simple copying, or highlight specific sections for printing on web pages, but this behavior prevents that basic utility.3 votes -
GL Payrun - Bulk upload payroll details
Hello,
I wanted to take a moment to share a suggestion that I believe could significantly simplify our payroll process. It involves the implementation of a bulk upload feature, which would allow us to handle payroll data in a more efficient manner. We will need a template that contains essential details for each employee. These details may include the employee's name, rate of salary, and various pay items relevant to their compensation. This would reduce the time and effort invested in processing payroll.
Thank you,Best regards,
4 votesThank you for sharing and engaging with us about this on Product Ideas, team. While we understand wanting to see developments, as you may have recently read - We’ve been offering Pay Run to our Global Edition customers since 2011 to provide basic payroll functionality. However, over the years, we’ve focused our efforts on making solutions available which offer enhanced features and a deeper integration with the Xero platform, such as Xero payroll in AU, NZ and UK, we've also seen newer payroll solutions in regions available through the Xero App Store (such as Gusto in US).
With this focus, we’re making some changes to Global Pay Run to help you manage your payroll more effectively;
- From 23 July 2025 Global Pay Run will become read-only. You'll still be able to see all your past payroll information, however you will not be able to process any new pay runs after this date.
- Global Pay run will be retired after April 2026, at which point you'll no longer be able to access pay run.
Bearing this change in mind, we do not have any further updates for Global Pay Run planned, and will shift this idea to Not planned.
For AU, NZ or UK customers there is Xero payroll that's specifically tailored to your regions unique requirements. You can see more information of the plans this is available through our website, and reach out to our Xero Support team if you need any help transitioning. We also have multiple payroll app partners that integrate with Xero and you can review through our Xero app store.

Reports - View history of changes to published reports
Currently, Xero offers an excellent feature enabling us to view notes and actions related to invoices and transactions. However, I think it would be highly beneficial if we could also access a detailed history of changes made to reports, such as budget manager reports and GST. Recently, I've encountered instances where my final GST reports were inexplicably reverted back to draft status. This unexpected behavior has resulted in confusion and inefficiencies within our financial management process. Regrettably, I have been unable to identify the responsible party behind these changes, leaving me puzzled and concerned about the security of our data.
In all honesty, such occurrences should not be happening, and it has led me to question whether these actions are the result of system glitches. I genuinely value the reliability of Xero, and I believe there could be a better way to address these incidents effectively.
If Xero could provide a comprehensive reporting history, detailing every action taken on GST reports, including revisions to draft and final versions, it would greatly assist users like me in understanding any modifications made to our financial records. This function would not only eliminate the mystery surrounding unexpected changes but also empower us to manage our finances more confidently and efficiently.

Sales Invoice - Auto allocate Overpayments based on Invoice date
Just an idea that might help a lot of businesses.
We generate a lot of invoices over the span of one month, the feature of bank rules are amazing, but ineffective if the payment is a overpayment.I would like to have a way for Xero to have a Global setting to auto allocate overpayments to the oldest invoice for customers.
Currently overpayments will go to the customer account and just lay there until manually allocated to an invoice.
With bank rules it will automate the process by adding payments as overpayments to the customer account and then auto allocating overpayments to customers oldest invoice.

Exchange rates - More than 6 decimal places
Exchange Rate - Allow more than 6 decimal places.
For conversions from smaller currencies (e.g. 1 KRW = 0.00071 USD), users need the ability to place more than 6 decimal places in order to get the exact currency conversion for the transaction. QuickBooks allows this so I don't see why Xero can't implement it as well.
Xero Central suggested that I make adjustment entries in my Realised Currency Gains account and I find it ridiculous to have to do it than just being allowed to input exact numbers in my original transactions.

New General Ledger Summary report - Reorder columns (Account Code before Account Name)
New General Ledger - It would be good if you can have the option to have the code number first before the account name
This will make looking for items easier
7 votesAppreciate the feedback for the General Ledger Summary report, Kala.
I wanted to confirm it is possible to reorder columns within the General Ledger Details report (like my image below). Is there a specific reason you'd like this in the summary too, or does this possibly meet the needs you're after?
