  1. Hi,
    I have seen several posts about the Account Number not being searchable/usable within the system or via exports. Contacts' names can vary easily from the different systems used by a company and even between departments: ABCco , ABC Company Ltd, ABC Ltd... - the account number can solve these format issues.
    In my case i need to export invoices in csv to be then imported in another system, also the invoice standard template has this field (to be ticked or not) it does not get exported which is rather peculiar; that obliges our finance to maintain a mapping file…

    If I understand correctly, you're asking to export the contact account number when exporting invoices from your organisation, Christophe? 

    If so we don't have any direct plans for developing this at this stage. I'll change the title of your idea here slightly and we can get a sense of the interest from the community of this, here. 

  2. If I need to make changes to the invoice settings from within the invoice page, there's no way to access the settings. In fact, it was pretty hard to find the invoice settings at all! Please put a direct link from the Invoice summary page to the Invoice Settings. (I agree with another suggestion that access to Invoice Settings should be controlled by role type).

    Good to hear you've an existing idea you'd like to support too around access to settings, Natalie. Currently only the Standard or Advisor roles will have access to Invoice Settings - more on this here

    When it comes to accessing Invoice Settings from sales, while it's not available from the list view of invoices, you'll find if you have the right role you can jump across from an individual invoice by clicking the 3 dots in the top right of the page - see my pic below. 

    Does this accomplish what you're after here? 

  3. We need a tick box in the ALL tab section for Purchase Overview Bills - We should be able to from the ALL tab select Draft, Awaiting approval, Awaiting payment, Repeating. You constantly have to go from tab to tab when searching in ALL

    We are a liquid manufacturer and require the use of proformas to send to the client to pay before the goods are shipped then for this to be invoiced once the goods are shipped

    I have checked some articles but the way to do this is to create a template to which we name is pro forma, and code this to a separate code in the balance sheet (name it Pro forma deposits or something similar). Once we have confirmation the goods have been shipped, we have to manually put on a credit to go against the same…

  6. When a shopping cart item is purchased via Stripe (as opposed to via an invoice from Xero), the transaction goes to the bank and then is imported into Xero via the bank feed. Because of this, none of my transaction totals or associated fees come through, forcing me to manually adjust every single transaction to properly account for the fees in my bookkeeping. This is unsustainable and ridiculous. When I used PayPal, I was able to set up PayPal as an account and therefore properly reconcile everything coming in through that portal and then associating the transfers with the amounts…

  7. It would be really helpful to be able to group bank accounts in a similar way to grouping Contacts. We have multiple currency accounts and base currency accounts as well as credit cards and to be able to group them in different ways would make checking them much easier. Eg group into GBP Current Accounts, Currency Accounts, Cash Currency Accounts, All Cards etc

  8. When draft invoice/s are created via eInvoicing (Peppol network) will xero introduce the ability to call in/ match the invoice against a PO in xero (& subsequently mark the PO as billed)?
    Many of us are required to raise PO's for our purchases - so this would be a handy feature!

  9. Currently, the accounts you choose for fixed asset additions and accumulated depreciation are also used for disposal and depreciation on disposal. It would be helpful to be able to choose different accounts for the disposal transactions from those used for additions.

    For example, fixed asset additions would go to an 'additions' account, depreciation in the year goes to a 'depreciation charge' account. Disposals go to 'cost of disposals' and 'depreciation on disposals accounts'. This keeps everything separate and mirrors the corresponding figures required for Ltd Company statutory accounts in the UK.

    Being able to choose different accounts makes it easier…

  10. Search Job name when searching for invoices
    The search function should be consistent across all search. If you can search for job name or part of job name in Search, you should be able to search for job name in Business/Invoices. This brings consistency to the search function.

  11. There are numerous discussion posts about Xero's lack of "Email to Expenses" functionality which is yet to be resolved, but there appears to be another gap in Expenses which makes producing many of the Bills/Expenses reports (including the TAPR) inaccurate.

    This happens because whilst the Expenses entry screen allows "Assign to Client" using Xero Contacts lookup, the Payee themselves cannot be connected this way. This means that if an employee expenses a payment, it never appears in any "By Contact" reporting, and cannot be included in the automated TAPR.

  13. Report to display how one (of several) bank accounts was reconciled by another user. Items to include Who (Contact) What (Account Selected and Description) Division and Tax Rate.

    This is to ensure the items were reconciled correctly, particularly overseas payments where NO GST must be selected. To check work of admin.

  14. Populate Contact Purchase Defaults when Bills arrive as e-invoice or from 3rd party app.

    As a bookkeeper I was so looking forward to promoting and using e-invoicing, but unfortunately it's not going to work for me (and many of my clients). This is because we often have invoices with A LOT of line items which are brought into Xero just as a total with one line only.     Thanks for your support here, everyone. Appreciate there is some interest in this from people emailing bills to their organisation, or importing via a 3rd party application. 

    We wanted to share a recent change we've made for those using eInvoicing - invoices received via Xero's eInvoicing will apply Contact defaults (such as a set default 'Purchase account) when creating the invoice in Xero. 😁

  15. I request xero development team to edit the billable expense feature or create a new feature. Currently for billable expense to be invoiced to customer, first we need to enter the billable expense and than later invoice to customer. However, in our case, we first send the customer a tax invoice to collect advance from customer and than make spending for the expenses on behalf of customer.   16. Purchase orders should not be able to be edited after they have been billed (even part billed). It defeats the purpose of a purchase order.
    We want staff to be able to issue purchase orders. Invoices are approved on those matching purchase orders. The same staff shouldn't be able to edit the original PO if it has been billed as then it doesn't match the invoice that's been paid/being paid.

It would be useful if Bank uncoded statement line report could also show outstanding payments & receipts. 9 times out of 10 an 'orange' transaction is a client error, duplicate transaction etc. Effectively this would be a complete list of bank items to be reconciled / fixed ( Ideally with the last month, quarter, financial year filter)

In timesheets, when you enter a new entry by hitting the + be good is the start of time could auto default to the end of time for the last timesheet entry you made, but you could still over type this if you wanted. Currently you have to keep looking and there is danger you could over lap or miss some time and it is time consuming.
