Notifications - Ability to view all notifications received (especially tax code change notifications)
Currently you can only see new notifications when they pop up in the menu. As soon as you click x, they disappear and cannot be accessed any more. It is useful to be able to look at old notifications - particularly for tax codes so that changes to tax codes can be double checked
7 votesAppreciate you raising the idea here, Sally.
It'd be great to understand when you say "dismissing" notifications, would this be by clicking the "x" icon in the top right hand corner of the notifications pop-up, or within the notification feed? Thanks

AU Payroll - Prompt Payroll Admin to update leave accruals when changing pay calendars
When a company changes their payroll frequency to a new calendar there is no prompt to adjust the leave accrual.
For instance, I recently changed my client from Fortnightly to Monthly Calendar.
I adjusted each employee to the new calendar. On their Leave tab in the set-up of the leave accrual it asked the question:
Hours a full-time employee works in a Fortnightly pay period
When I changed the calendar to monthly this question changed to:
Hours a full-time employee works in a Monthly pay period
There was however no prompt to adjust the answer, the previous answer just transferred over, resulting in an incorrect accrual, which needed to later to fixed. When a company changes their payroll frequency to a new calendar there is no prompt to adjust the leave accrual.

AU Payroll - Add Parental leave pay item
Have a paid parental leave pay item so that a balance can be input and 'drawn down' on. The employee and the employer have clear visibility on how much time has been taken and how much is left.
Since STP PH2 compliance has come in, paid parental leave has just become an earnings pay item and not a leave pay item.
The workaround of running the Payroll Activity Summary or Transaction Listing Summary report to keep track of the earnings processed for the employee, is onerous and not available to the employee.

Dashboard - Show total of unsent invoices in 'Invoices owed to you' section.
The Dashboard panel "Invoices owed to you" shows the number and total of
* Draft Invoices
* Awaiting Payment
* OverdueHaving a fourth line showing Unsent invoices would quickly notify users of those approved invoices which haven't yet been sent, whether intentionally or in error.

Cash Coding - Ability to attach file
It would be nice to have the option to attach files when using cash coding on the bank. To attach a file, I have to go back to the bank recon tab, find the entry and then attach the file. This wastes a lot of time. A small attach file icon or the option to attach a file on the drop-down will save a lot of time.

Projects - Track labour costs without generating an invoice
I would like to track labour costs in project without invoicing them. The invoicing is done differently. It goes per bag packed, but I would like to know how much on labour it costs to pack the bags. Thank you.

Email to bills - Ability to add note that's included in History & Notes of the bill
We generally forward incoming bills for payment to Xero by emailing the bill to bills.b3xxxxxxxxxxxx@xerofiles.com) resulting in them getting queued in 'Draft' - which of course is a beautiful feature. At that point our finance manager will go through and process them to the point of Awaiting Payment (i.e. check them, allocate as appropriate, etc.).
On occasion there is additional information people in the business may wish to communicate to the finance manager about this (e.g. where it should be allocated to, or other descriptive information/special instructions).
Presently this requires a separate email to be sent to the finance manager, typically containing a copy of the invoice, explaining, etc. Then finance manager must remember this when processing that invoice. It would be nice to have the ability to incorporate free text in the email which would automatically appear in the History & Notes section, so it is attached to the bill all the way through. It could be just free text written in the body of the email with some sort of easy to type, unlikely to be found elsewhere, suffix (eg. '///')
To illustrate with an example:
I send a bill through from new vendor where allocation is ambiguous for anyone but myself, but I know it should be allocated to 'Marketing' .The bill is attached to a clean (no copy in the body) email ready to send to bills.b3xxxxxxxxxxxx@xerofiles.com
I go into the body of the email and type: '/// allocate to marketing please'
In the history and notes section for this bill there appears a time-stamped note showing the source and stating: 'allocate to marketing please'
Finance manager incorporates into her work process to check History & Notes prior to processing bills.
This would be amazing.

Sales invoice - Ability to combine or merge multiple invoices to one
Our new system separately invoices every job we complete. This gets loaded into xero invoices, ATM you can copy these individual jobs and they can be put on to one invoice, great.
However Xero wont let you add more jobs to this invoice by the same copy facility.
It only gives you the option of a customer name not an invoice number.
I would like to be able to add jobs daily to this invoice and send my customer one invoice at the end of the week/month.14 votes -

Invoicing - Print voided invoices
I mistakenly issued some invoices and had to void them. That made our invoice number sequence non-consecutive. This is a problem for my accountant here in Romania because we need to file the voided invoices as justification on using non-consecutive invoice numbers.
I want to be able to print them as PDFs and the documents to be marked as voided.9 votes -
Sales invoice - Include inventory item details in billable expense
When creating an invoice for a customer and applying the “items” that were assigned to the customer it would be very helpful for Xero to apply all of the relevant information that was entered for the item to the invoice. Such as sales price, revenue account etc. Currently the billable expense information that is applied is the “cost price” only, which is not relevant on a customer invoice, and you must set the revenue account for each line item. All of the information is already entered in the inventory for the item.

Hubdoc - Set rules when importing bills
The way that you can preset (and save) coding in spend money bank rules in Xero between "Fixed items" and "remainder items", it would be extremely useful to be able to do this with bills that are uploaded to Hubdoc.
You would then also be able to save the multiline configuration in Hubdoc so that when the bill autosyncs with Xero it has the desired split between fixed and remainder items.
Please see attached PDF. An example of this is where you have phone bill that has fixed business and personal items. The remainder of personal tolls, which differ in value each month can be coded to drawings.

Account Transactions - Tab through fields for data entry
Ease of entering - ability to tab into 'Description' field when in 'Amounts are' field.

Cash Flow Projection - Ability to edit or amend cash flow prediction analytics function
Ability to update and amend or assist as a user the cash flow prediction analytics function. Currently the cashflow analysis prediction function doesn't pick up a number of our regularly occurring expense invoices and sales invoices (also sometimes it has them coded as monthly rather than fortnightly etc). Result is that for us the cashflow analytics is very inaccurate and then not usable and as user we are unable to amend or update. But think it could be a good tool if we could work with it somehow to update the AI and predictions

However, reassessing current priorities as many here may also be interested in our team are currently in the depths of work for enabling the ability to view more statement lines and providing search on the Reconcile screen.
While this may be something we consider developing for later down the line, it's not something we have plans for atm and we'll shift back to Submitted to continue monitoring the interest here. Thanks

Projects | Tabs - Ability to filter by status
To add Sort and Filter into Quotes & Invoices and Task & expenses inside a Project, so we can filter by Price/Status/Draft/Awaiting payment/Paid or sort we we want it
6 votesHi Millena, is there a specific reason you'd like to do this in the Project tabs versus in a report?
We have similar ideas for the ability to filter by status in reports so trying to understand if there are extra needs here or if we should merge your idea in with that one. Thanks🙂

Contacts - Ability to set alerts and reminders for credit control
Hi, I will be looking after the credit control activity of the organisation I recently joined. After looking at the portal, I think it would be useful to be able to create alerts for specific schools, for specific dates, reminding me I need to contact them on those days and be able to switch reminders, on or off, with the opportunity to select the dates (ex if invoice not paid by ... the reminders will switch back on automatically on on the date I set up). Do you think this functions can be implemented presuming it would be useful to other users other than only just me? Thank you

6 votesThanks for the suggestion, Samantha. There are a lot of different types of alerts and notifications that our customers would like to see Xero develop.
When you mention credit control I wanted to highlight Credit limits that can be set for a contact and may be of some use to you here.
There is also the ability to set Invoice Reminders for when invoices are overdue and you may want to set up for contacts.
We don't have other alerts or warnings planned at this stage but will begin to get a sense of the interest for your idea here.

VAT - Ability to track late claims for Non-MTD filing orgs
Track late claims on VAT returns submitted in Xero but not filed direct to HMRC through MTD.
This is needed in order for VAT groups to be able to prepare returns in non-submitting companies which can then be consolidated.
The only alternative if the VAT group stays on Xero is to run journal reports and manually find late claims, in all non-submitting entities in a VAT group, which is a very manual process.
