  1. Sales Overview Improvement Request: Add "Send Date"

    To enhance our efficiency and reduce time spent looking up invoice details, it would be beneficial to add the "Send Date" to the Sales Overview page.

    Reason for the Request:

    Clients sometimes claim they have not received an invoice and ask when it was sent. Currently, to answer this, we must navigate into each individual invoice and check the history, which is time-consuming.
    Our team members occasionally inquire about the send date of invoices as well, and without this information readily visible, they too have to go into the invoice history.

    Thanks for sharing the details that’d help you when chasing payments and invoicing in Xero. We don’t have direct plans for developing this atm, however as we continue to plan further developments within invoicing, our product teams would like to get your input, so they can get a deepened sense of our invoicing users for future improvements.   2. I would like Xero to create as sales invoice worded in English and then be able to click a button and Xero then translates all details (including hard coded items) into the language selected and visa versa.

  3. When you import a tax invoice file you get to select when the invoice amount are either Tax Exclusive or Tax Inclusive.
    The default radio button option is always set as Tax Exclusive.

    It would be nice to be able to change this default setting so that the default option can be set to tax inclusive. I know it's a minor thing and while it might not save a lot of time, if all of your tax imports are GST inclusive, having the option to have this set as default so you don't have to remember to change it would…

  4. In due date fields (and why not other fields), allow Excel formulae with invoice fields as variables into the formula to drive the default value. The existing constant value is a valid excel formula so would be backward compatible.

  5. There is system wide error in the back-end template that you use to generate invoice emails. Please refer screen captures attached. You will see that I have two lines in my Invoice 005614 that are text descriptions of services only so are effectively subheadings and have no account code and no "value". They appear correctly in the PDF invoice with a blank in the "Amount NZD" column but they appear incorrectly with a value of "0.00" on the email the customer receives.   6. Via the XeroAPI, assign a project to a line item on an invoice.

    Looking in both the invoices, and projects APIs I can not see how to do the assigning.

    Also, If i assign the project from with in the Xero website, and GET either the invoice or the project, neither response seems to have the assignment.

  7. When Posting a customer invoice it would be very useful to be able to see customer address and ROI vat number so I can apply the correct vat code. ATM I have to go to contact details for that information then back into invoice posting

    Hi Gillian, understand it doesn't accomplish all of your idea here. However you can view a contacts address from the invoice. If you click on the 'To' field once you've added the contact you'll be able to view their email, postal and delivery addresses and telephone.

  9. On projects under "quotes & invoices" it would be great if it showed the remaining balance of the invoice. I send 4-5 invoices per project and sometimes clients pay a random lump sum and i write it off against the invoices but that can lead to an invoice being part paid and being able to see which invoices have been paid or have a remaining balance under that view would be beneficial instead of having to get out of projects and searching the invoice under the invoice tab.

  11. Improve Text Formatting - Invoicing

    • Ability to change all text to caps, lowercase or sentence case (like Microsoft word feature) to enable more consistent, professional invoicing in less time. For example when adding multiple billable expense lines.

    • Ability to sort invoice lines by the headers, i.e. description (alphabetically), by price or amount high-low etc.

  12. Under the 'New Invoice' creation page, it would be great to add a contact's VAT number as you are creating the contact, on the invoice page.

    Just add one line under the address.

    Then one would not have to navigate to the Contacts page to add the VAT number

When showing a list of statements to send (from Business - Invoices - Send Statements) from Send Statements, can the invoice number be shown on the screen so sorting can be done on invoice number. Also the date of the invoice would be handy as well to give an idea of when first looking at the front screen as to how old they are. It would make choosing and sending quicker and more efficient.

  18. In New Invoicing, I need the ability to view the files in the file library prior to attaching them to an invoice, as I can do in Classic Invoicing. This is because when received into the file library, the files aren't always in the same order as they were scanned. I tried attaching a file using New Invoicing and it wasn't the right file and, because I couldn't return the file to the file library, I had to rescan the document back into the file library. Without the ability to view files prior to attaching them to the invoice

  19. Currently it is not possible for a user with the Invoice Only access to view paid invoices under the contacts tab. It doesn't make a lot of sense that they can view all of the invoices however when in contacts can only view invoices that are unpaid.

    Sorry for not updating you sooner here, team.  We've just released an update for Invoice Only roles in Contacts. What you can see will now be dependent on the level of access the user has.  

    • Invoice Only Draft will no longer see the I Owe and They Owe columns, 
    • Invoice Only (Sales) will only see They Owe, and 
    • Invoice Only (Purchases) will only see You Owe. 

    This change applies to sorting on the page as well.

  20. Why does the Supplier ABN not appear on the online invoice view? We now have to download the invoice as a PDF to see the ABN. This was not an issue with the Classic view.
