  1. When you create a new transaction you have 2 fields which identify the nature of the transaction - "Description" and "Details".

    I find myself constantly copying one to the other. It would be really useful if Xero could auto-copy description across to details, and if you don't want it the same you can overtype the details.

    Having content in both fields helps identify the item, and usually the same content will do.

  2. Expenses search and sort.

    If you only have access as a user and not full access to the accounts, searching past expenses is a painful experience.

    What a painful thing searching for expenses in Xero is.

    Can't filter by date range, or search for a particular description, or search by account. And they're in some unfathomable order which you can't sort by date.

    Suggestions: Sort by date option to help answer questions like 'did I remember to file that expense 3 months ago'

    Filter on date range: 'Show only expenses between January and March last year'.

  3. Add in the facility to include "description" when using the expenses app.

    Its included in all other transactions, but when expenses imported via the app it loses this feature. Wouldn't be difficult to drag this line in surely?
    Purpose - would increase visibility/transparency when reviewing credit cards

  4. Profitability of projects not correct. We are setting up projects in Xero. We have found the profit figures are not accurate where there are a mixture of GBP and US$ bills. Could you please forward to your development team. It can't be that difficult for projects to pick up a translated figure surely??

  5. If I run the payroll on say the 22.07 and then a P6 arrives effective from say 25.07 it wouldn't be updated automatically. Surely it should be updated regardless of whether the date relates to a previous period or not? This frequently happens. I can't think of an example of when you wouldn't want the tax code to update automatically?

  6. When running the Payment Summary Details report for a previous financial year, the report does not show the dates of the financial year the data belongs to. The report is titled Payment Summary Details as at Today's Date. For example: it should show Payment Summary Details reporting period 1st July 2017 - 30th June 2018. For audit purposes, there is no way of determining the date range the reported data relates to.

  7. Can we please have flexible decimal points on allowances. So overnight stays - 3 - are appearing as 3.0000 and 200 kilometres is appearing as 200.0000 kilometres. I would like to remove those decimal points?

  8. Include a new filed in payroll employee data with employee number. Employees will have a unique indentifier in xero. When running a pay history report the customer number to appear on this report as well as any other payroll roll reports. Businesses are using automated payslip and messaging services for payroll and this info is required for these software's.

In Projects, when we add tasks to the project (pulled from Products and Services) and then Create Quote, the Product or Service name is what imports into the description line in the Quote and not the description from that Product or Service, as it does when creating a quote outside of Projects. Having this consistency makes sense (and is strange that it is not already the default) but it makes creating a quote from projects cumbersome, as the description needs to be added manually.

  10. Would like to see a next page arrow in the purchase orders like in files when you can move to the next file OR Purchase order really easy and see the whole thing without having to open new tabs the whole time to view the next one.

  11. It would be really useful that when you are selecting to add a new Group under Row's that it adds the new group option in the location you are currently at, rather than adding it in at the top of the report and having to move it down to where you want it to go.

    Also having the ability with the when adding a new formula to be able to select how you want the formula result to appear (ie %, $, rounded $ to the nearest $ etc).

  12. As a retail company with many hundreds of transactions each day it is a massive task to properly account for VAT. All our products are VATable inside the UK but we receive many orders from outside the UK which are non-VATable, or from other EU countries where we must charge a different VAT rate for our IOSS return.

    PayPal holds details of the VAT that was collected as part of the transaction, but as Xero imports all these hundreds of transactions from PayPal it currently does not import those VAT details. That means we have to look at our other…

  13. When sending tax payment letters out via email it would be great to get an email if the address used is invalid. Like a bounce-back when you send an email from your usual email program. At the moment you have no idea if the client received the tax payment letter at all.

  16. It would be great if the mobile app allowed me to take a new photo of a receipt into folders faster - maybe you could improve the "Work offline" functionality so that it does more in the background.

    I need to use this method, instead of emailing receipts, because we have various folders (1 for each debit & credit card) where we put the specific receipt photograph into

  18. Supplier and customer ledger - to be able to pull a supplier/ customer ledger, instead of pulling reports per contact. This would be ideal if it can be pulled for a certain period, to see all suppliers'/ customers' opening balances, movements and closing balances per supplier/ customer, all on one document.

  19. Currently bill costs are not posted to the accounts until it has been approved. It would be beneficial if once a bill was entered/submitted for approval in xero the costs were shown in the accounts. If the approver is not available to approve the bills it holds up finalising month end accounts.
