User Role | Permissions - Allow Invoice Only users to connect apps
Change the permissions required to connect apps, most importantly the Pipedrive app. Since currently Pipedrive users (sales people) are required to have full access to Xero in order to connect and use the integration. We can't give our sales team full access to our accounts due to sensitive transaction details and salaries contained in Xero as you would expect.

Lock Dates - Add a Dashboard link for Advisor users
Lock dates should be on main dashboard for Advisors. The setting is buried three layers deep when it needs to be preferable on the main dashboard taskbar. It is very annoying when there you have a client with Advisor privileges who also likes to make backdated changes. Either the lock date option should on main dashboard or allow journals to be outside of the lock.

AU Payroll - Calculate a fixed net salary
When negotiating salaries It can be beneficial to express an amount net of tax and super. Xero does not calculate this other than imputing different amounts of gross wages to achieve a net figure close to required net amount.
Maybe something you could add to future upgrades.6 votes -
Bank Account - Add "Difference" field to show the actual amount of the difference between statement balance and balance in Xero
On bank header screen where it shows "Statement Balance" and "Balance in Xero" could we have a simple "Difference" calculation to show the actual amount of the difference.
6 votesHi Valerie, while not shown in the Bank header, you can run the Bank Reconciliation report which will show you the balance out by figure. If the Imported statement balance hasn't imported or doesn't match your actual bank statement ending balance, you can enter this yourself at the top of the report and update so Xero will show a calculated balance out by amount.

NZ Payroll - Time sheet job tracking
Job tracking in time sheets
8 votesThanks for coming back to me on this, Josh. Appreciate the added insight and I've made sure to share this back with our team.
While it doesn't resolve the needs here right now, I wanted to share this idea that you may also like to join and stay updated in case there is any progress directly within Project reports.
For the time being, there's no direct plans made for this on the payroll side but I'll continue to keep you updated if anything changes. Thanks

Bank Reconciliation Summary - Filter by source
Filter Bank Feed By Source
When looking for bank errors because a bank balance is incorrect, it would make things quicker to filter by bank transaction source
Many errors are caused by the source being imported manually but the transaction has already been imported by bank feed
to filter these ones out would make things quicker3 votes -

Find and Recode: Filter by currency
I find the 'Find & recode' tool very useful, but it would be really helpful if the condition 'Currency' could be added, so that we can choose to see only transactions in a certain currency.
Since MTD for VAT, more and more clients are using digital links as software that automatically extract the VAT amounts from receipts (e.g. Dext), including receipts from other countries. They publish them to Xero and are not aware that they are overclaiming VAT. To make corrections and change these transactions to 'Zero Rated Expenses' we use 'Find & recode'. It would be much easier if we can select the currency of the country they have recently travelled to.

Bank reconciliation report - Show bank account number
In addition to the bank account name showing on the bank reconciliation report, it would be good to also show the account number. This would make it easier to match the bank statement with the bank account in Xero.
For example, my client may have it as Business Account 1, Business Account 2 in Xero but the actual account name is ANZ Transaction Account, NAB Cheque account - so easily being able to match the account number when checking period end balances would make it much quicker and easier.4 votes -

Sales Overview - Make Tickboxes available in the All tab
Add the tick box in Sales Overview > Invoices > ALL tab
We want to bulk upload all invoices for the week in 1 file regardless of the status (paid/unpaid). We couldn't at the moment because of the absence of the tick boxes in the ALL tab.
6 votesRounding back on your idea here, Abigail - It'd be good to get more understanding of your business flow and why you'd be wanting to create invoices of another status. For example is here a specific reason you'd like to import invoices that have already been paid for? Could these potentially be entered as Receive monies or is there a reason they need to be raised in Xero once they've already been paid? TIA

Payable Invoice Detail report - Total invoices payable per contact
Enable the Payable Invoice Detail report to total the invoices for each contact. At present the report totals the GST component of each contact's invoices, which I find not at all useful. It would be possible to export the report to Excel, and calculate the totals in that format, but this would be time-consuming.
I use the payable invoice detail report to get approvals for payment. It would be useful for the person doing the approving to see how much each contact's invoices add up to.
5 votesHi team, returning to the idea here I wanted to check if this is still an issue? With the Payable Invoice Details report you'll find you can 'Group by' Contact and there are options to include Balance, Gross Tax and Net columns within the report so you can get a full break down and totals for each.

Customer Statements - Ability to choose invoices
Send Statements, Outstanding, Select Date.
We want to send statements to our clients for invoices that are 30 days overdue - so if I put in the 28th February 2022, Xero brings up a list of all overdue invoices as at that date however some of those invoices have been paid so if I send out the 'Activity Statement' its not a true record of the invoices outstanding.
I would like Xero to change this so that you can either click on each invoice you want to send out ie the ones that haven't been paid or Xero only shows the unpaid statements as at that date (remembering that 'Outstanding' has been selected.

Files - Ability to send documents to cloud storage from Xero Files
Ability to push files that’s uploaded in Xero Files to cloud storage (e.g. Google Drive, Dropbox, and Sharepoint).
Purpose: Users can easily store/keep their files that they’ve uploaded in Xero into their own cloud storage. Especially when they have many documents that exceed the limit of Xero Files.
11 votesHi team, though we appreciate the use you'd find in being able to connect or send Xero Files to your cloud storage we want to be open that this isn't in our short terms plans.
We're keen to keep getting an understanding of interest in the capability, and will share if there are any updates or progress of this, here.

NZ Payroll - Flag leave submitted retrospectively
It would be great if Xero could send an alert if a leave request has been submitted for a payroll period that has already been processed?
This would apply in the situation that payroll was run early and then an employee took a day off in the period that was included in the payrun.3 votes -
Organisation settings - Ability to select landing page after login
Ability to select your own landing page after login.
Am I the only person who finds it annoying to have to navigate from the dashboard, to business, invoices, then to the awaiting payments tab every time I log in?
I would love to able to choose which page I see when logging in.

Invoice - Contact bank account details field on invoice
The contacts screen has the financial details Bank account i.e Bank account name, BSB code e.g. 123-456, Bank account number e.g. 1234567890.
However these are not fields on the invoice.
Xero help out and create these fields on the invoice.

Bank feeds: Yodlee feeds - Allow other users to refresh bank feeds
Allow other users other than the person that sets up a feed ability to refresh the feed.
Purpose: Save time and increase efficiency of being able to perform bank reconciliation
33 votesHi everyone, we understand that it's not ideal when the one person who set up a bank feed is away, causing delays to your reconciliation.
This is a tricky one, and the limitation you're experiencing is due to how certain bank feeds work, when supplied via our third party provider, Yodlee. These feeds are tied to an individual's online banking login credentials. When a bank requires multi-factor authentication (MFA) – like security questions or a one-time code – only the user who originally set up the feed can provide those details to refresh it. This is a security measure required by the bank, not by Xero, and you can read more about this here.
As noted by others here, one option is to have another user deactivate and then reactivate the feed with their own login details. A different approach could be for the bank account holder to arrange a separate online banking login for their accountant or bookkeeper, who can then set up and manage the feed.
Because this functionality is determined by the bank's security requirements for these types of feeds, it isn't something we can change in Xero.
However, we are constantly working to improve our bank connections. We're excited to announce a new partnership with Plaid, which'll bring more reliable, direct API feeds to many of our US customers starting from October 2025. These new feeds will resolve this refresh issue for the banks involved. You can find out more on the Xero blog: Plaid joins forces with Xero for enhanced US bank feeds.
The best long-term solution is for more banks to build direct feeds with Xero. You can play a big part in this! We’ve found the best way forward is for customers like you to contact your bank directly and let them know you’d like them to integrate with Xero. They can then register their interest with our team here.
Thanks again for the valuable discussion on this!
