  2. When downloading the individual payslip it would be nice if the PDF would say the persons name rather than the default filename of Payslip (1) etc
    Other payroll software such as Shape does this. Shame that Xero doesn't

  3. Remove the automatic bank holidays been added, If you could add the days worked then it would work but it is adding bank holiday payments even if someone has left a week before.

    If the employee has a leave date prior to the bank holiday it will not be added automatically. Also you have the option to include or exclude the relevant bank holiday's for the employee in their employee file.

  4. It would be good if payroll reports could be customised, i.e. after making a change to an existing report, such as Gross To Net report, the new template could be saved as a Custom Report.

    At the moment, it isn't possible to save the updated format, so I have to make the same changes to the standard report every month.

    Hey all 😊 You can find a breakdown of NIC thresholds in the P11 report.

    This report shows the pay period YTD per employee as well a breakdown of the different NIC thresholds.

  6. We are long term users of Xero and find many aspects of its functionality make our accounting functions easy! This is not the case in terms of Payroll entry….The Xero Me App does not come close to meeting the needs of a small business like ours….and I am sure we are not entirely unique!

    Our business is predominantly made up of casual employees who work different hours from day to day/week to week. Many of our employees also drive vehicles and require kilometre reimbursement.

    The biggest challenge we have is the accurate recording of employee hours…unfortunately, we have issues…

    Appreciate your input here, everyone. We don’t have any plans in the near term to add passwords to payslips, but did you know you can invite employees to the employee portal Xero Me? Employees can securely view payslips, submit timesheets as well as request leave.

  8. A number of my client are service businesses and as such all of the payroll costs should be posted either to a Cost of Sale account for Operational staff or Overhead for support staff. I can achieve this for all costs except for Employer NIC cost, which has to be manually moved. It would be beneficial if the NIC could go to an NIC GL dependent upon the type of basic pay chosen.

  9. Please can you send the name of the 'leave approver' to Finlerts LeaveCal integrated app. We get leave approval email notifications via their Xero add on and it would be really helpful to know the name of the person that approved a staff members leave application.
    There has been cases of team leaders with leave approval permissions authorising their own leave so this would help us monitor these situations.

  10. I cannot be the only Global Platform user that has now been waiting for basic payroll feature improvements in the Global version for over 4 years now.

    Critical features that are not available include:
    - Ability to add logo and YTD balances on pay slips
    - Template payroll emails when sending pay slips (have to type it every time now)
    - Timesheet option that syncs / built into payroll. Or at minimum an import option.
    - Holiday / sick pay / leave tracking
    - Basic employee portal for them to view pay slips and leave balances, and basic core…

    To be open and upfront we don't have direct plans for making changes within the Pay Run feature in the foreseeable future.

    You may like to look into connected apps for a payroll solution that could suit your business.

    We'll be sure to let you know if there's any change around this.

  12. When adding a new employee record, allow me to 'create new superannuation' during the process of creating their new record. Currently when adding a new employee record, I need to navigate away from the employee record to 'Settings > Payroll Settings > Superannuation' to add a new superannuation relationship. On the new employee record, when the pop up appears for superannuation, if you could add a spot to say 'Create New relationship' or something under the employee record - I'll buy you a beer.

  13. Currently Xero is set up to nil off both the Employer NI Expense GL and Liability GL as soon as payroll is run because employers NI contribution is always setoff against HMRC allowances.

    However, it is important to have employers NI contribution cleared only when remittances are made to HMRC and when HMRC send allowances (which is always a month accrued). The allowances are setoff against the employers NI expense GL.

    This treatment will allow the accountant to respond to remittances made to HMRC in terms of employers NI and allowances received from HMRC accordingly.

  14. When a client fails to pay Superannuation Guarantee levy on time the employer should lodge a Super Guarantee charge form. Is it possible to develop a form where the affected employees can be printed & exported to excel to enable a simple "cut & paste"? If the ATO have started an investigation this can save many hours of work especially if the period covered is several years.

  15. I have clients whose bookkeeper does the payroll and also processes accounts payable/receivable invoices. Currently we can't have submit/draft only invoice access AND payroll access. This means that if they want to do payroll, they also get access to approval of invoices. Can we please create a user role where draft/payroll access is combined?

    Hiya community, thanks for your support in this. Totally get why you may want to set the default view to sort by surname in Payroll. Being open, with many of the teams resource working hard to fine tune payroll for STP phase 2 there are no direct plans for developing the option to set a default for sorting of employees atm.

    To confirm, right now from your list of employees you can click on the column header to sort ascending or descending alphabetically - So, once on the screen you can click Last name to sort your employees by this column.

    We'll update again if there's any change planned.

  17. Before the update there were two greyed out boxes, when hovered over revealed the employee full salary and earnings to date - this was very handy when the salaries are based on an hourly rate. Where has this function gone? and can we have it back please.

  18. Have an option in settings to only allow employees to access their payslip and not create. Our employees enter their timesheets into a job management system which is synced to xero for actual payroll and timesheets however on occasion they accidentally create a payslip in xero me and it creates a heap of issues down stream

  19. Old payslips should retain the correct postal address for the employee for that time period. Don't update the previous payslips, just move forward with the new address for new payslips. People use their payslips for various different reasons, and tracking/validating their address history etc can be one of them!

  20. I would like long service leave to accrue and update the balance each payrun like annual leave does, i.e. leave available to take in advance. rather than waiting for the accrued LSL to be applied on the anniversary date.
