  1. I recently commented about the new invoicing not showing credit notes available, what I didn't realise that this was only for Repeating Invoices, not standard generated invoices which do infact show the credit available.

Some of our regular clients like to prepay so there are often credits to use. Upon approving a repeating invoice, the classic used to say there was a credit available on that contact, click here to use it. There is no such feature on the new repeating invoicing to indicate there is a credit available you have to go and manually check. As well as not…

Hi Claire, I've tried replicating your scenario here using both a newly created and an existing repeating template.

In both cases when I open an invoice that has been generated from the template and credit is available I can see an option on the invoice to Apply credit (as shown in my image)

Could you please raise a case on this with our Xero support team on Xero Central. They have tools to be able to look into this deeper and confirm what's going on and why credit is not appearing for application in your invoices.

  2. When filling the GST to ATO through Xero and selecting to Lodge and save bill as draft, I can't find any billing information in the draft bill (nor approved bill) .I don't know where to pay this bill, I need the billing details which have not transferred with the bill.
I have to do this manually, save the pdf to desktop then attach to draft bill (do it the old way like 20 years ago)???
This should not be a new idea. It should be a minimum to have a draft bill with the related bill attachment.
    Can you…

Hi there, when lodging directly through Xero, payment details are displayed at the top of the statement page once it's been lodged, including various payment options such as Bpay, credit card, and others.

Please note that these payment details are only available when you are connected to the ATO in Xero and lodging directly through the platform. This is because the payment details are provided directly by the ATO and are specific to your entity.

  3. WorkflowMax has no understanding of foreign currencies. We now have WFM clients that are being invoiced in either Australian or US dollars as opposed to the standard NZ dollars.

Before sending the invoice from WFM, we set up the contact in Xero to have the following information:
Under Financial Details: Currency = US Dollar
Under Sales Defaults: Sales GST = Zero Rated and Branding Theme - US Invoice
Please see two attachments showing the settings.

When we send the invoice (Approved) from WFM to Xero, the GST and Branding Theme are correctly picked up but the Currency setting…

  4. Our work is often quoted at the project level, with invoices being issued monthly for the duration of the project until the quoted amount has been paid and the project completed.

Currently, we create the quote, and then subsequently create invoices - manually keeping track until the quoted amount has been invoiced, at which point we mark the quote as invoiced.

    It would be helpful if;
    - We could split the quote into N invoices automatically with the total invoiced amount over N invoices equalling the amount in the selected quote.

    • When a quote is marked as accepted but…

  5. Hi Xero team,

I’m reaching out from a regional local government in Western Australia. We want to use Xero and appreciate its simplicity and usability. However, we’ve found that Xero’s current design is limiting for local government requirements — particularly in terms of transaction volume, internal controls, audit reporting, governance, and integrated project accounting.

I believe there’s a compelling opportunity for Xero to consider developing a dedicated “Local Government” edition or expansion, especially tailored for smaller regional councils. There are over 500 local governments in Australia, many of which are seeking modern, cloud-based, ERP solutions that balance simplicity with the…

Purpose: To make sure authorisation code is sent for an approval, in case the code hasn't been received.

  7. When syncing invoices from Joblogic to Xero, they post straight to approved status - can a feature be added so they can be posted to 'awaiting approval' to avoid dating errors on the invoices?

    Thank you

Hi Parris, many of our applications have designed and built their integration with Xero themselves. They are best placed to engage with on any changes you feel could enhance your experience when integrating data from their application to Xero.

  8. Automation of remittance advices being sent once payment batch is approved with Xero pay. Currently they are sent individually once the batch is approved and shows up on the bank account transactions list. It would be great to be able to send them out as a batch once the batch payment is approved. Also would be good if you could deselect any that you don't need to send out should that be the case.

Hi Guramit 👋 The new New Zealand GST experience is now available to everyone. As noted previously, the Transactions tab now shows the number of transactions in each section displayed on screen. 😁

Thanks for sharing where you'd like to see change in Xero.

Hi Alex, you'll find this is now possible. The different VAT rates used in the invoice will be shown as subtotals beneath the total invoice amount. With the updates that our team have made to the send experience your customers will also be able to see a quick view breakdown of this in the email they receive 🙂

  12. I need to run a report in Xero that sees the variance in purchaser cost price on a month by month basis for a product group not based on sales/bills
Otherwise the only way is by an Excel spreadsheet

  13. Having an option to customize the details on the main "Expense Claims - To Review" screen (Business > Expense Claims) would be very helpful. A “detailed view” option, allowing key information to be seen at a glance, would streamline the approval process by reducing the need to open each individual claim. Specifically, seeing if an attachment has been added, with the ability to hover to expand it directly from the main screen, would significantly speed up reviews and approvals.

  14. When an expense is raised, supplier gst tax rate should override the expense item tax rate. If the supplier coded gst free purchases, then expense items should default to gst free, not the default gst tax code of the expense ite.

  16. For the payroll drop tap it would be good if we could have notification numbers next to say leave request and timesheets. Like the notifications of expenses.
This helps to keep track on all leave submissions and what's approved.

  20. Please allow the function to split the linked accounts for GST Collected on Sales/Income and GST Paid on Purchases/Expenses. It's extremely frustrating to have them all lumped into the one account and makes year end reconciling much more time consuming and difficult. Needless to say, it makes it a lot harder to do year end adjustments correctly.

Hi Jodie, the single GST account in Xero is designed to calculate and create the org's Business Activity Statement based on the accounting method selected in the org's settings. I want to be open that we don't have plans to change this.

However, you could use custom tax rates to separate different rates within the GST account.
