  1. Please fix the Schedule 5 PAYG calculation to include YTD commissions and bonuses as well as ordinary earnings. This is causing issues with tax not calculating automatically because the employee's only form of income is from commissions (real estate industry) and they are forced to report it under commissions for STP Phase 2 yet the calculation things they have $0 YTD earnings.

  2. Add a date to the end of the payslip PDF file name. eg payslip_20220519 That way easy to save and file each slip without having to rename

  4. UK Payroll - when an unscheduled pay run has been posted for a period it stops any updates to salaries even when a full payroll hasn't been posted. It makes sense that a full run would stop updates but only people included in an unscheduled pay run should be barred from having updates applied. For instance, with an unscheduled run posted I can't adjust starting dates or salaries for staff, and these may have changed after the unscheduled run was posted.

  5. Roster Board for Employee Shift Management.

    A scheduling /roster to show employee shifts. That then can be reconciled against the timesheets submitted. The ability to also send the weekly/fortnighly schedule roster to each employee - or have them be able to view it on the Xero Me app. Have a clock in clock out feature on the Xero Me App to record when a shift starts and ends.

  6. We must be give an option or some kind of template to upload hours in Xero if there are hourly employees and number is huge. Doing manually is quite a challenge and time wastage.
    So this option must be available even if not using time sheet.

  7. We need to be able to account for annual leave transactions in the general ledger but Xero does not currently facilitate this. Is there any chance that an update will be done which will allow this? I know that this has already been raised but it is baffling as to why a basic payroll/GL integration is lacking.

  8. Add an additional pay frequency of 4-4-5 which is a very common pay frequency in the UK for service based businesses with hourly payrolls. Payroll is process in 4 week, 4 week and 5 week intervals over a year meaning essentially 4 x quarters of 13 weeks.

  9. Not sure about other pensions, but when using NEST, Xero doesn't currently link up how you would like it to.
    Whether you pay staff monthly or weekly, you are bound to have a cut off date for calculating hours which is before the date you send payment to employees.
    The info that gets shared when filing the pension records is the "payment date". This physical date falls under the following pay period meaning when the info is transferred to NEST it comes up as the wrong period.
    For example:
    (monthly pay) 24th Aug - 23rd Sep, with pay on 30th…

  10. Currently when opening the TIMESHEETS page the order of the timesheets is very random (example attached).

    The most common reason for visiting this page is to view and approved/reject timesheets so It'd be very helpful for us when we do open this page that the most recent timesheets awaiting approval are at the top.
    Currently we have to click on the 'Last Edited' column header to get the most recent time sheets.
    Can we please have this page DEFAULT set up to accommodate most recent date at the top (example attached).

  11. Fixing issues with holidays and making pro-rata holiday calculations automatically
    Calculate starting holiday allowance from the starting date of the employee for new employees joining throughout the year.
    Calculate final holiday allowance based on the end of employment date when employees leave.
    Since Xero knows the holiday hours per year and the working patterns, it has everything it needs to calculate this.
    If an leaving employee has taken too many holidays before they leave, it is important to ensure the leave is negative.
    Furthermore, at the end of the year the employee should be given the option to carry over…

    Hi everyone, appreciate the feedback on the idea here. Being open we don't have any immediate work planned for this.

    However, I also wanted to highlight with differing needs and regulation our payroll products are developed separately for region specifically. We try to keep the ideas regionally separated in community here as it helps when feeding back to the team and also in keeping customers updated.

    That said we have a separate idea for this similar feature in AU Payroll and I've added any voters from AU to that idea to keep updated there.

  12. A detailed pay run journal report would be much more useful than the current summary version. It is especially unhelpful that selecting the entry in an expense account just takes you to the pay run - it doesn't show you what is coded to which expense account. With many employees this can take a long time to find errors or to manually journal multiple costings

  14. I have had a few scenarios where an employee requests leave and then I have gone into Xero and there are no requests. The employee has cancelled the request, but I have no visibility on this and so I have to reach out to the employee and check so could a notification be sent if an employee cancels a leave request before it is approved? Or if the leave request was left in Xero, but with a 'cancelled by employee' status or something? It is important to have visibility in some form.

  15. There is no reason to keep the previous bank holidays on every payslip.

    I can’t seem to get rid of previous bank holidays from showing on current/future payslips. Why are bank holidays from the Easter and the King's Coronation still appearing on payslips May 2023 onwards?? Doesn’t look very professional. This is all on the YTD earnings line. Why isn't there an option to remove it? Clients are not very happy.

    Hi everyone, returning now a few weeks on from our last update, we’re going to move this idea to ‘Delivered’ with the change the team made to Payslip PDFs. We have now combined all previous earnings as one YTD line so that your employees only see the most relevant information 🥳

  16. This is not an idea; it is a requirement, Xero.
    At present, all pay types classified as commissions are being taxed as follows: "The method for Schedule 5 in Xero, calculates the PAYG withholding amount by averaging all additional payments made in the current financial year, over the number of pay periods in a financial year, and applying that to the average total earnings to date".

    If commissions are paid every month, they should not be taxed in this manner, as per this ATO web page which says "Do not use this schedule for payments for a single pay period".

  17. It would be great if we could pay our employees similar to how we can process a batch payment in XERO for bills. At the moment I am having to go into the bank account at the end and pay each employee individually.

    Is there another way to do this ? I may be missing something.

    Thanks for your feedback and interest in the idea here. We appreciate the desire for being able to enable employees to make these changes themselves.

    While this is something the team will continually review as they keep developing Payroll for Australia, we want to be open that this is not in the direct plans atm.

    I know the second option is Payroll Activity Details report. However, when I download this report in excel, the Pay item type is under the employee column i.e not separated.
