  1. When syncing invoices from Joblogic to Xero, they post straight to approved status - can a feature be added so they can be posted to 'awaiting approval' to avoid dating errors on the invoices?

  2. We need to give a user the 'Invoice only (sales)' permissions but do not want them to view invoices created by other users or ANY sales figures such as 'total awaiting payment' or 'total overdue'.

    It would be incredibly useful to have tick box options for main permissions when setting up a new Invoice Only user. These permissions should include:
    - View sales totals
    - Approve invoices
    - View invoices created by other users
    - View Invoices awaiting payment tab

  3. There are new options now under 'Approve' on the new Sales Invoice. The majority of my invoices are created post-purchase, so I create the invoice, approve the invoice, then usually need to go back to the Invoices overview. I want to see added 'Approve and return' or 'Approve and close'. Currently it takes me three clicks to get back to the invoices, because I need to click on Approve, then 'Invoices' from the breadcrumb, then to 'All' since it defaults back to Awaiting Payment. (Why doesn't clicking 'Invoices' from the breadcrumb take you back to the All tab?? Surely that…

    Hi Trudi, while the Business menu option I mentioned in my last update remains the best flow for what you're after here currently.

    I thought it may be useful to share that we've recently released some keyboard shortcuts for common actions in new invoicing that may help improve your efficiency when invoicing. Our product team have added small prompts to highlight these in the product while our customers familiarise, and if you’d like to view the full list of options you can see them all on Xero Central

    We'll continue to track the interest in an approve & close option here, and share if there are any changes planned that may impact this.

  4. Please can the hyperlinks to Credit Notes appear on the statements of customer accounts? We have so many queries to send credit notes after statements are sent out because there is no hyperlink to it on the statement, time consuming and unnecessary.

  5. What I want to show in the batch payment summary is the transaction date.
    For example, I used my personal money to buy sth on 1st June & 10th June. Then I submit "expense claims" on these two days. And when accountant batch the payment for my claims, I want to show the transaction date (1st June & 10th June) on the batch PDF, just as shown in my attached image.

  6. Include the unique transaction ID (from the Journal Report) on other reports including Account Transactions / General Ledger reports / Project reports / Inventory Item Details report.

    Purpose: So we can easily see which transactions have gone through since the last month end / close, as the transaction ID's are unique and incremental. We cannot rely on the dates of transactions as invoices will come in with old dates which will appear like they were posted in a previous month, but are a new transaction.     Thank you all for your support and feedback to the idea here. We now have the new General Ledger Detail report that includes the option to add Journal ID as a column in the report live to you all! 

    Within the report itself you'll be able to rearrange columns to drag and drop this where you'd like it to sit in your report, and once you have set up how you like save as a Custom report to access this format whenever you need. 😁

    Hi team, this is available through the Payable Invoice Detail or Summary reports at present which can be filtered for a specific supplier. Alternatively, you could run the Supplier Invoice Bills Activity report (found in the Contact Transactions Summary)

The need to have an occassional tax point date that is different from that of the invoice date has arisen, usually found in the retail sector, and there is not currently an ability to add the field to the sales invoice form. Can there be the ability to have this feature added, albeit a hidden one? Currently the work around is to create an invoice outside of Xero and send that version to the client, causing additional workload. We have been seeing this from vendors for years but the workaround there is entering in the tax point as the invoice …

I would like to be able to edit an entered transaction, i.e., transfer, payment, etc. When I am reconciling, some transactions are posted on the following month, but they were entered at the end of the prior month this creates a problem when reconciling. All I need to do is edit the date and change it, but I have to remove and redo the transaction. This is extremely time-consuming.

    Also, could we change the bank account when we enter the transaction in the wrong registry instead of removing and redoing it?

  11. "Days paid" on timesheet defaults to number of days loaded in "Salary & Wages".
    It needs to be overridden to actual days worked for the week when a timesheet is approved. Many staff work more or less days than the average and changing each one manually is incredibly cumbersome and has a huge margin for error

  12. I'd like the Reconcile pages to allow me to select some all of my bank accounts to display. This would aggregate the unreconciled statement lines and display them all in date order to be reconciled all the same time.

    Reason 1: Convenience. I use several bank accounts and would prefer to reconcile all of the transactions in one go.

    Reason 2: Error reduction. The most common error I see relating my clients' bank balances is their misuse of Transfer (setting the wrong account, using it for accounts that aren't linked etc.). If they could see both accounts and therefore both…

  13. When processing backpay for employees where they have a Termination Date currently involves either an Unscheduled Pay run for a period the employee was employed or undo the Termination date, and run a payrun, then Terminate again.
    Both of these are very time consuming, particularly when there are some 40 employees over an 18 month period that need to be included who have a Termination date.
    It would be useful to have a function in a payrun to "include terminated employees" which keeps all the previous data, but includes them for the backpay without having to manual up…

  14. Exchange rate on bank reconciliation report
    For foreign currency bank accounts, the old bank reconciliation report used to include a note stating that the exchange rate per xe.com that was used to translate the bank balance to the home currency at the report date. This was very useful information to include, as it confirmed the rate and the source of where that rate was obtained. This is not included on the new format bank reconciliation report pack. Please could this note be brought back on the new format reports?

  15. We have monthly invoices and we have multiple lines, sometimes 100+. With the new invoicing, the approve button is at the top of the screen and I have to scroll to the top every time I got to check the total prior to approving. Can you please make the 'approve' ribbon fixed at the top of the screen when you scroll down?

    You may find using the 'Home' button on your keyboard helps to quickly navigate back to the top of page for now.

  16. Hi, I will be looking after the credit control activity of the organisation I recently joined. After looking at the portal, I think it would be useful to be able to create alerts for specific schools, for specific dates, reminding me I need to contact them on those days and be able to switch reminders, on or off, with the opportunity to select the dates (ex if invoice not paid by ... the reminders will switch back on automatically on on the date I set up).     Thanks for the suggestion, Samantha. There are a lot of different types of alerts and notifications that our customers would like to see Xero develop. 

    When you mention credit control I wanted to highlight Credit limits that can be set for a contact and may be of some use to you here. 

    There is also the ability to set Invoice Reminders for when invoices are overdue and you may want to set up for contacts. 

    We don't have other alerts or warnings planned at this stage but will begin to get a sense of the interest for your idea here. 

  17. Hiding Voided Pay Run from showing on the Main Pay Run Page.

    It will be great to have a functionality that allows you hide payruns that have been voided from showing on the main payrun list.

    When approved payruns cannot be edited, the only option is to void and create a new one. If a functionality can allow editing approved pay run, then there will be no need. But now, we need to have a function to hide the voided payruns.

  18. It would be beneficial for an employee to record all hours worked in the timesheet including hours to be allocated as TOIL Accrual
    i.e. employee works 35 hours, 30 hours ordinary and 5 hours to TOIL accrual?
    Then when the employees wishes to take the TOIL, they submit a Leave Request as per existing functionality.

    Currently the employee needs to separately notify payroll regarding hours worked to be allocated to TOIL Accrual. And this doesn't go through the Supervisor Timesheet Approval process.

Would it be possible to up date the CIS feature to have the reports that are filed through Xero to HMRC be automatically saved into the filed with HMRC section so that you can see the original return that was submitted if you have had to update it. Returns are not saved on HMRC if they are submitted through Xero.

  20. Batch change exchange rate
    Currently, once a receipt has been entered the only way to change the exchange rate is to go into each individual transaction and edit transaction->change the exchange rate. I have a situation where i have hundreds of transactions that have been allocated the XE.com rate, but i would like those transaction to have the user defined rate. Also in receipts entered using the iOS app will use the XE.com rate even if there is a user defined rate set in settings.
