  1. New Invoicing. I see we got the ability to mark as sent when printing, which is great and fixes one of many defects which made me go back to classic a year ago. But the prompt that appears is bizzare and confusing. Classic always had "mark as sent" or "leave as it is" ... however new has "mark as sent" or "Canel" - which implies cancel the print job - except it doesn't (the x does this)... So on one hand a user if confused by cancel if they want to print without marking as sent, and 2 if…

  2. I need to be able to approve super when I am travelling and do not have access to text messages. It is most inflexible that there is only one method for doing this! Can the Xero Verify App not be used for auto super approvals too? Then I only need wifi.

    Or, can text be received to whatsapp instead?

If Reimbursements are meant to be used for certain allowances then we need to be able to set up units and unit rates in the same way as we do for allowances, otherwise the calculation becomes a manual one and leaves room for human error. It also means reporting is not clear on how the amount was calculated as even though you can enter a description on the payslip i dont beleive there is a report that summarises this.
    ie for overtime meal allowances you should be able to show how many you have paid and at what rate…

  5. Client has just realised that they hadn't entered an IRD number into Xero Payroll details for one of their contractors on withholding tax. Xero Payroll allowed the submission of payday filing to go through without error or notifying the client of the missing information.

    6 months later, client is contacted by contractor to say IRD don't have any record of withholding income or tax withheld on behalf even though the details were submitted and tax paid on to IRD. Without the IRD number, IRD was unable to allocate it to the contractor's income records.

  6. When negotiating salaries It can be beneficial to express an amount net of tax and super. Xero does not calculate this other than imputing different amounts of gross wages to achieve a net figure close to required net amount.
    Maybe something you could add to future upgrades.

  7. Have tax rates added to Pay Items and or a way to add employee tax rate to unscheduled pay runs so you don't have to edit tax rate when processing.

    This will ensure correct tax rate is applied to all employees every time a pay is processed, whether is a normal pay run and or unscheduled pay (bonus etc)

  8. Xero Me app no longer allows entry of allowances. Previously employees have had ability to enter their hours and any allowances attached on their templates but apparently since the change to STP2 they have stopped this ability which is crazy. Seems to be no point in using Xerome.

    Seeing we have just spent hours ensuring our clients have mapped the allowances correctly to STP2 categories not sure why this has been removed. Pls vote to have returned.

  9. Work and Income deduction as a reducing balance under statutory deduction. Work and Income have provided a total amount and a weekly amount to be paid there needs to be a function added to provide the reducing balance, this function is available in other statutory deductions.

  10. When you invite an employee to xero me for the purpose of submitting their timesheet, there is a drop down menu for the payrate. In this drop down, it shows 'Self' payrate (the payrate of the person submitting the time sheet) and also 'Team' payrate, a list of all the different payrates of the company. Why would you want an employee to be able to see the different payrates of the team?

    This seems like a flaw in the system to me and an employee should only be able to see the payrate that applies to them.

  11. Can we please add a company logo on the payslip email?

    At the moment it just has the 'Xero me' background saying "your payslip is attached" ect. It would be nice to be able to swap that image with our company logo thanks.

  12. I would like to have my contractor be able to submit timesheets via XeroMe and have the timesheets linked to a "Withholding Income" pay item.

    It currently looks like timesheets require a Regular Earnings pay item to be selected before they can be submitted and then approved

  13. When running the Payment Summary Details report for a previous financial year, the report does not show the dates of the financial year the data belongs to. The report is titled Payment Summary Details as at Today's Date. For example: it should show Payment Summary Details reporting period 1st July 2017 - 30th June 2018. For audit purposes, there is no way of determining the date range the reported data relates to.

  15. We have had the unfortunate event of an employee pass away whilst still employed.

    I would like to suggest that Xero make it easier for companies to be able to process a death benefit payment (ETP - type D) within the system rather than having to process this manually and then having to do journal entries for the system to balance correctly. And to then have to process paper copies of PAYG payment summaries to report this to the ATO.

  16. HMRC's guidance on invoices in currencies other than GBP, found at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/foreign-currency-transactions-vat-and-tour-operators lists specific requirements that need to be met when creating an invoice in a currency other than GBP, namely:
    1. "the total net value of goods and services at each VAT rate" needs to be shown in GBP (as well as in the foreign currency)"
    2. "the amount of VAT, if any, at each rate" needs to be shown in GBP (as well as in the foreign currency)"
    3. the currency conversion for VAT purposes needs to be calculated in one of the following two ways:…

    Hi all, apologies we've not responded here before now. Checking in with our team on this our current invoice templates do accommodate what's needed here.

    With the standard invoice template you can select to 'Show currency conversion as' 'Net amounts with tax totals', which display a currency conversion table with the net amounts and tax grouped by tax rates or tax components. A base currency equivalent is also included. You can see more information on displaying currency conversion on Xero Central.

    We also provide a highly customisable DOCX invoice template that can be used to provide more detail if you choose.

  17. NZ Pay Day Filing Reminder

    To avoid missing the pay day filing requirement of two days within pay day, where an email reminder notification would be handy to pick up when a pay run has not been posted to the IRD, or if it were to be showing as an error, as the IRD penalty for missing this timing is steep.

  19. pay rates rounding by 4 decimal points causing an underpayment of wages. EG: Base rate is 25.65 x 1.5 = 38.475000 but the award rate is actually 38.48. Need a solution for this ASAP.

  20. Amend status of timesheet - I accidentally ran a Pay Run without having approved the timesheet. The status of the timesheet then was Approved, and didn't become 'Processed'. An 'Approved' staus meant I couldn't change the calendar setting s etc for the employee. It becasme a challenge to do what was necessary to get the status to 'Processed'.
