Bills - One-click Copy for commonly copied text fields
I would love to be able to one-click copy text fields that are commonly manually copied, such as:
- Invoice/Bill total
- Invoice/Bill number
- Customer ABN
- Customer email
- Customer address
- Supplier BSB/account number
- Payment/batch total
This click would copy the unformatted number/text to allow pasting into another app, such as Internet Banking, Excel, Calculator, email etc.
When paying a bill via Internet Banking, I need to manually copy the total via Ctrl-C, then paste into Internet Banking and manually remove the comma.
When pasting into Windows Calculator (which also won't accept commas) I need to paste into Notepad first to edit the number before pasting into Calculator.
When pasting into email, any formatting (such as font and background colours) are automatically pasted. I am forced to right-click and select the "Keep Text Only" paste option.Other services such as Stripe and GitHub already do the one-click copy very well. Samples in attached image.

AU Payroll - Xero Me Payslip only access
Have an option in settings to only allow employees to access their payslip and not create. Our employees enter their timesheets into a job management system which is synced to xero for actual payroll and timesheets however on occasion they accidentally create a payslip in xero me and it creates a heap of issues down stream

Invoices - Ability to show recurring invoices within the Contacts page
Be able to see recurring invoices set up for a client on that client's page. So many times I think to myself "I'm pretty sure I set that up, but did I?" and then I have to go and search in the repeating invoice tab. It would be good to be able to see recurring invoices just on the client page.

The ability to bulk archive Contacts via exporting a CSV, deleting contacts and then re-importing those that should stay.

Chart of Accounts - Add visualisation when adding new account
It would be helpful when setting up new GL accounts in the COA if the screen would populate somewhere (even a drop down would be helpful) with the existing COA so you can see in same screen what’s already there and where your new account would fit logically

Create your own placeholders for email templates - For example, I want to create a new placeholder for the previous month.
14 votesHi Kirsty, having looped in with the team this placeholder is not something that has been developed in new invoicing and isn't on the immediate plans at present.
For the time being, you'll be able to use the shortcut shared in classic invoicing. We'll re-open the idea to continue building traction in this here and I'll update you if there is any progress surrounding placeholders that'd help here.

Invoice - Set defaults for adding Billable Expenses
When creating a new Invoice and you want to add some billable expenses that you have assigned to the contact in the Bills section, I want to be able to give my clients an itemized bill, the new invoicing option is defaulted to add all items as one line.
We default to all invoices as itemized, Yes I can select this as an option but would like the ability to select the other as the default option.

New invoicing | Send - Rich text editor format
Please change the editor in the email copy, when sending an email & creating an email template, to a rich text editor. It would be useful to be able to bold/highlight particular lines especially when invoices are late & reminders are being sent
20 votesHi everyone, while we appreciate and initially provided a solution for the idea here within the new invoicing email modal, we wanted to return as after further testing this feature has needed to be removed.
That said, we know being able to add basic formatting to your emails is important to some of our customers and while the tool bar has been removed you can still add basic html formatting to your emails to bold, add italics or underline text within the invoice emails you send to customers.
- Bold = <b> and </b>
- Italics = <i> and </i>
- Underline = <u> and </u>
We understand not all customers are familiar with these tags so I've added an example image that shows the different tags that can be added and how these will show instantly within the email preview so you can make sure you email looks as you expect.
If we make any further plans around adding a tool bar back into the email window we will be sure to keep you updated of this here.

Xero App store - Connected apps price and feature comparison
I am trying to find an app to help with cash flow forecasting. Xero could not have made it harder to compare. Why does the app overview page not say anything about the cost of the app? It only says free trial is available, however, I want to see what the ongoing cost is, before I even consider giving it a go. With Xero increasing costs so often and by an outrageous percentage, I find the lack of transparency of connected apps cost rather disingenuous. Xero needs to make it easier to not just search but also to compare features and benefits, and more importantly, costs. Also, the "connected apps" screen should not just give the option to disconnect but also to go to / open the app.

8 votesWe appreciate for many small businesses having more information about connected apps pricing is important when making and choosing solutions for your business.
While this isn't currently available, it's something our team are looking into surfacing through the Xero App store.
There's a bit of work to go into it, but we'll keep you updated of any progress for this here. 😊

New invoicing | Files - support .eml file type
The Classic Invoicing allows .eml (downloaded emails) to drag and drop into invoices from downloads. The new invoicing DOES NOT allow this. Please reinstate this function to the new invoicing as it is an essential part of loading invoices (uploading (drag & drop) downloaded emails providing instructions and authorization evidence for auditors). Kelly, please confirm that this function will be continued in the new invoicing. Thank you.

Bank Reconciliation - Column to show which user reconciled transaction
Bank Reconciliation - Having a Reconciled By column.
It would be very helpful to have a column in the bank account transactions screen that shows who reconciled the transaction. I have a client who thinks they are helping by reconciling their own transactions only to get most of them wrong. If there was a column showing the reconciler then I would very quickly be able to ascertain the transactions i need to review by running a history and notes report for that period.3 votes -
NZ GST Return- Ability to only show a single line per invoice on the Transactions report
When running the GST Transactions Report, each and every line from each invoice is reported separately, creating a ridiculously large report.
Perhaps there could be one single line per invoice, reporting the total GST for that invoice? Like it used to be?Thanks

Investing in AI
I think the time has come to invest in AI, as a accounting software leader (Xero). Many people invest their money in AI software, like accountants, to do better / more accurate and faster budgets, forecasting (cash/accrual) mixed with different scenario's, transaction reconciliations and presentations of data/information and graphs. This usually in excel; outside the accounting software, where mistakes are likely to happen. I am not in IT, or software development/integrations, so I do not have an idea what this type of investment would cost, but my gut feeling is it would be worth it.

Bank rule - Ability to set up overpayments to a supplier
We have standing orders set up for multiple properties for water rates, business rates, electricity and rent all of which are invoiced quarterly/six monthly/annually.
Can we have the ability to create bank rules for supplier overpayments to a contact??

Projects - Ability to assign to estimated expense category from the bills screen
When assigning a bill line to a project, it would be good to also be able to select the Estimated Expense category from this same screen rather than having to manually add from within the Project. Or at least be able to bulk assign from the Projects screen.

Invoice/Bills - Notification when draft invoice automatically created
Send an email when a draft invoice (or bill) is created automatically.
When a draft invoice is created automatically, I want to be notified. By definition/design, it needs human attention before getting approved and issued. So I would like a human to be told it has happened.5 votes -
UK Payroll - Unscheduled pay run in advance should only stop updates to staff included in the run.
UK Payroll - when an unscheduled pay run has been posted for a period it stops any updates to salaries even when a full payroll hasn't been posted. It makes sense that a full run would stop updates but only people included in an unscheduled pay run should be barred from having updates applied. For instance, with an unscheduled run posted I can't adjust starting dates or salaries for staff, and these may have changed after the unscheduled run was posted.
