Expenses | To review - ability to see VAT rate
Having this feature would alleviate the need to click into each expense claim to check the VAT is correct, as it will be included in the expense information along with the spend date and nominal code.

Contacts - Option to put a Stop/Credit Hold on customer accounts
I Also, when will we get the stop function in Xero? I've been asking Xero for 6 years. I know you can restrict invoices by credit limit but, customers could be well under their limit but overdue in paying. A stop function is critical to any accounting system.

Inventory - Show invoices and contacts the item was sold to
When looking up product history Xero lists what invoices product was sold on. It would also be nice to be able to see the customer's name. This would make things much easier when trying to look up pricing assigned to specific customers.

Quotes - Tax status & Delivery Address when invoice is created from quote
It would be nice if when converting a quote to an invoice that Xero would be able to recognize tax status of customer, and would automatically bring up delivery address.

Analytics Plus | Short term cashflow - Filter predictions by bank account
Analytics Plus - Predictions do not filter based on bank account selection
When you have multiple bank accounts but only need one selected for cash flow purposes, the monthly predictions that xero has created do not filter out based on the bank account they were predicted from.
In my example I now have petty cash predictions and interest income from a savings account showing when only the main current account is selected, this messes with the predicted end balance making the cash totally useless

Reinstate NZ Annual Report template avaiability to non-partner users
Reinstate access to NZ Annual Report template for non-partner small business users. The NZ Annual Report template has been available to non-partner users for at least the last six years but has now been removed from the reporting templates available to non-partner users. For small businesses that prepare their own accounts the Annual Report template was very useful and time saving. Making it unavailable only has the effect of making us spend a heap of time re-building it outside of Xero or forcing us to waste money paying an accountant to do something Xero has previously enabled us to easily do ourselves. Effectively double paying Xero through forcing us to use a xero partner...

3 votesAppreciate the use you found in the older Annual report pack, Antony. We want to be upfront that we don't have any plans in the near term for developing this same pack in the newer reports. However, right now you'll find you can use the Management report pack, where you'll be able to add reports as you need into this, alternatively you could create your own report pack from scratch(this is available from the Search in the reports centre).
Understand not everyone feels the need to have an advisor but for others coming across that would like a bit more help with this sort of reports preparation you can find an advisor through the Xero advisor directory.

GST Audit Report - files icon
GST Audit Report - show if the files icon & no of files (e.g. like Account Transaction list does). This would be helpful when ensuring all GST invoice requirements are met.

Reporting - Add 'Add Page Break' on 'Insert Content' drop down
Please add the ability to be able to add a page break from the 'insert content' drop down in draft reports, rather than having to go into 'edit layout to do this.
Currently the only option on this 'insert content' drop down is to 'add text block'
1 voteAppreciate you raising this with us, Natascha. Being completely open, having checked in with our product team while it might be something we revisit further down the track, we don't have any plans for enabling adding of page breaks from the Insert Content drop down in the near term. We'll shift the status to Not planned so others seeing can also understand.

UK VAT - VAT calculations to 3 decimal points.
Xero calculates VAT on a line by line basis and rounds up at every instance. This leads to the VAT amount sometimes being more than a few pennies over the top of what it should be.
I propose that Xero calculates VAT to 3 decimal places, which will mostly eliminate this over payment to the VAT man and overcharging our customers. Or it only calculates VAT at the end of the invoice.

AU Payroll - Submit child support deductions through STP
Could Xero please introduce the ability to report child support deductions and garnishees via STP reporting to the ATO.
Xero currently does not support reporting of child support deductions through STP Phase 2 with Xero Payroll.

Reporting - Monthly and Annually Recurring Payments to Suppliers
Please explore the possibility of generating a report that efficiently and clearly captures Recurring Payments made to any contact or supplier with either monthly or yearly frequency?
Currently, this is not achievable without significant manual effort to extract data from various reports in Xero. While I’m aware that the "Repeating Bill Payment" feature setup can also aid with producing a report of this nature, most clients do not use this setup, and the information isn't sufficient.
Payments have been processed in Xero through various methods, including bills, direct debits, and spend money transactions. The desired report should be able to extract all of this information, showing the contact, recurrence (within a specified date range), the amounts, and the payment method. Ideally, the report should also compare periods—separating data across multiple accounting periods if the date range spans more than one year.
I look forward to your response, Xero!

Customer Statements - Include prepayments
Customer Statements - Would be good if customer statements could include a prepayment balance somewhere on the statement. My client receives a lot of prepayments and would like customers to be able to see at a glance their remaining credit.
12 votesHi team, wanting to jump in to provide a little clarity as there are 2 different points arising through this idea.
Currently, customer prepayments will only be shown on a customer's Activity statement, not Outstanding statements.
The way prepayments work in Xero, these only impact the Accounts receivable once it's applied to an invoice, therefore they don't impact the total of the statement balance.
If you want to impact the total balance, you may want to consider entering these sort of payments as Overpayments in your account. You can read more on how this works in our Xero central article.
To be open here, we don't have any short term plans for changing how these transaction types are treated in statements.

Bills - Ability to Assign Project or Customer when importing
I have to create a biill with about 60 line items which contain a mix of duplicate and variable information. As there's no way to duplicate line items in bills, I employed a workaround by exporting Xero's inbuilt bills template file 'BillTemplate.csv'. In Excel I was then able to quickly and easily create 60 copies of the same line item, make the changes necessary and import the csv file into Xero which successfully created the bill containing the 60 line items - thus saving me hours of wasted time.
The only issue is that no provision has been made in the csv template file for assigning line items to a customer or project.
My request is for either:
a) ability to duplicate lines in bills (and invoices too would be beneficial) rather than just add empty lines.
and/or
b) ability to assign a line item to a customer or project in Xero's bill template csv file.

Reporting - Distinguish between 0.00 and nil balance accounts
On balance sheets or profit and loss reports. It would be amazing if there was a distinction between accounts that have nothing in them (e.g. -) and accounts that have a nil balance (e.g. 0). They currently have the same icon (-). Having different icons would make it easier to distinguish without having to click into the account.

AU Payroll - Employee Summary Report for dates worked
Payroll Employee Summary Report
Is there a way to have this report show the actual period the wages are for? Currently the report shows "for the period 17 April 2024 to 17 April 2024, which is the date the payroll is paid. BUT the period is actually for 10 April 2024 to 16 April 2024.

UK Payroll - Activity Details and Summary report format
The new Payroll Activity and Summary Report is not as user friendly as the old one. It was much easier to read and find your employee name and net amount due on the older version. I also don't like how half an employees details can be on one page and the rest on the next page. I would like to revert to the old style, if possible?

Account transactions - Common date for 'last week'
An option to set the date range to "last week" from the date range pull down options in account transactions reports.
Being able to create custom account transactions reports set to "last week" would be invaluable for our weekly reporting, avoiding fiddly changes to the date range each week when pulling a number of reports, and preventing any dating errors.
It would be a great advantage.
Should be an easy to add that option to Xero, I would have thought.
And it is a common option (e.g. GoCardless has it.)
