Credit control- Add 'Days Overdue' to Contacts
Restore the ability to see the total number of days an invoice is overdue from the client contact page for credit control. It used to say 125 days overdue in red - that has gone so it is now not as easy to decide how firm to be when emailing a client to chase a late invoice. Those days overdue on an email heading get attention fast.

Invoicing - Show attachment option at the top of the page
The button to view attachments was at the top of the page in classic invoicing but is at the bottom in new invoicing. Our sales transactions are imported from our point of sales software via API. Every sales invoice has an attachment and we now have to pointlessly scroll down to the bottom of every invoice before we can view the underlying report. Please put the attachment button back in an accessible place!

AU Payroll - Option to set week ending date on Timesheet Detail report
The week ending period on the Timesheet Detail Report is Monday to Friday and cannot be adjusted.
Oaur pay week runs from Wednesday to Tuesday. We have to duplicate data on an Excel spreadsheet for reporting for management.
It would be very useful if the week ending period could be edited so we could use the reporting in Xero and save time processing payroll.

New invoicing - Retain formatting and special characters in Contact 'To' field
It's good to see you have extended the period before removing classic invoicing because I still need to revert to classic for certain features that are missing from the new system, namely:
- The ability to copy invoices to Bills and PO's - this is an important feature that I use regularly
- Send invoices via Xero network - again this is a feature that has been useful especially for invoicing between subsidiaries.
- Save and continue feature, I don't like the auto save feature because it continues to update the history and notes while I am still adding details to the invoice…
3 votesAppreciate your feedback here, Helen. We already have existing idea that we've added your vote to for the first 3 points you've shared. You'll receive any updates of progress for these separately. I'll just adjust the title for your idea here to reflect your last point around the formatting of a contact name. We'll let you know if there is any change planned for this, here.

New Invoicing - Copy invoice to keep existing email
Thank you for delivering to keep the existing contact when copying an invoice. Now when you email the invoice the email address is not populated from the contact file. You have to go and look it up to send the copied invoice.
Please refer to the contact details and pre-populate their contact email addresses.
Thanks
5 votesSorry Lynne, It's a bit hard to troubleshoot and get the detail to understand why your contacts details like email aren't coming through to your copied invoice. I've just tested this with Draft and approved invoices being copied and the email of the contact was bought through each time as expected. I'd recommend raising this with our specialist through the Contact Xero Support option in Xero Central for closer inspection.
Thanks for also checking on this, Olga - that message on defaults application is related to the Sales defaults saved against inventory items or the contacts record but doesn't apply to the contacts personal details. These should be applied when copying an invoice.
To explain a little more - The reason defaults aren't automatically applied is because the line item fields will be prefilled with the information from the existing invoice that the new one is copied from.
We understand…

New Invoicing - Files - 'View' and 'Delete' UI
There is a significant design flaw in the new Files UI:
1. The delete button will remove an attachment on a single click, rather than prompting a confirmation.
2. The 'View' file button is directly next to the delete button increasing the chance of accidentally clicking delete instead. Given the point above there's no way of recovering the attachment as clicking it will instantly remove that file.In the old invoicing you could simply click the file name to view rather than clicking a 'View' button. The delete button was under a cog and initiated a second click to confirm…

Expense claims - Choose which fields are optional
Adding a feature in Xero that allows finance admins to designate specific fields on expense claims as mandatory or optional would ensure consistent data entry, improve financial tracking, and streamline the approval process.
Key Benefits:
Enhanced Compliance: By making certain fields mandatory, such as business function or event tracking, admins can ensure that all necessary information is provided, reducing the risk of incomplete or incorrect submissions.
Improved Data Accuracy: Mandating specific fields ensures that critical data, like cost centers or project codes, are always captured, leading to more precise financial tracking and reporting.
Flexibility: Different organizations or departments may have…

Payroll reporting: Accrued Leave Balances
REPORTS:
Need "leave balances" + "leave transaction" report to include the "accrued balances" as a separate line also, so this can be reported on by employee on request.Company opted to unticked the option to included leave in advance to balance because this is causing issues for the business, so now only showing entitled leave balances (after anniversary) and not the accrued leave?

Xero Support - Support chat feature
There should be a support chat feature, especially for new users. Drilling through support topics and forums is cumbersome for simple questions.
36 votesHi everyone, we wanted to let you know about a new update to the navigation help menu that's in the process of rolling out in Xero.
We're introducing an AI generated answer field to the content search results in the existing help box within Xero blue, HQ and Xero Me. When you search or ask a question in this box you'll receive an AI generated answer based on Xero Central support content that's displayed above the regular search results.
Introducing generative AI to our navigation help menu will help to improve the results returned by the search function, saving you time especially if you're just getting started in Xero, or doing a task you don't do often.
We aim to have this to all users over the next week, and I'll round back to confirm when available to 100%.

New Invoicing - Type the date manually, without / delimiters
It would be really useful to have a way of typing the date without having to use a / in between the numbers, like you could on classic invoicing
e.g. 20012024 used to convert automatically to 20th January 2024 on classic invoicing
24 votesThanks for your interest in this idea, everyone. We understand there are different ways our customers find useful when entering dates for invoices in Xero.
Based on feedback our team are looking at improvements to the date pickers in new invoicing. While I can't confirm exactly what these will entail atm, we'll shift the idea to working on it and I'll be back to confirm when we have more of the detail.

Xero - Maintain previous design style in Xero
Keep the Xero Classic Look everyone preferred.
The design of the New Invoicing, Bills and Fixed Assets pages are sadly reminiscent of an excel spreadsheet.
One of the enjoyments of the Xero software compared to its competitors are the fresh, clean pages that make it inviting to use. When changing to new function, Xero has changed its design elements and is missing the 'attractiveness' that has been part of Xero's signature branding.
Specifically black text, flat checkboxes, grey cell borders and grey column headers makes it feel like an outdated 1990s program.
I am hearing similar comments from my clients.…

UK Payroll - Automatic pro-rata holiday calculation
Fixing issues with holidays and making pro-rata holiday calculations automatically
Calculate starting holiday allowance from the starting date of the employee for new employees joining throughout the year.
Calculate final holiday allowance based on the end of employment date when employees leave.
Since Xero knows the holiday hours per year and the working patterns, it has everything it needs to calculate this.
If an leaving employee has taken too many holidays before they leave, it is important to ensure the leave is negative.
Furthermore, at the end of the year the employee should be given the option to carry over…8 votesHi everyone, appreciate the feedback on the idea here. Being open we don't have any immediate work planned for this.
However, I also wanted to highlight with differing needs and regulation our payroll products are developed separately for region specifically. We try to keep the ideas regionally separated in community here as it helps when feeding back to the team and also in keeping customers updated.
That said we have a separate idea for this similar feature in AU Payroll and I've added any voters from AU to that idea to keep updated there.

AU Payroll - Superannuation end of quarter reminder
Would be great if Xero could trigger an automated (email and/or text) reminder to the superannuation payment approver 10, 5 and one days out from the superannuation due date each quarter.
A similar reminder feature already exists in XPM for Activity Statement Lodgements - reminders can be turned on.
Xero also has the ability to automate reminders to Customers around bill payment.
Xero has the email and SMS of the superannaution approver already on file.
Advantage of these reminders:
Super gets paid on time - we're all human and life can take over and sometimes things get missed - a…

Repeating Invoices - Quantity of payments option
Repeating Invoices have the option to provide an optional 'End Date', however it can sometimes be difficult and/or time consuming to identify the correct end date. There's also potential to miscalculate the correct end date which can sometimes result in customers being under or over charged if the selected end date results in the wrong quantity of payments.
It would be very useful if there was a 'Quantity' option for Repeating Invoices which would automatically select the correct end date. Therefore eliminating over/under payments.
This feature would be useful for those who know exactly how many times a repeating invoice…

New invoicing - Don't open new tab when clicking the contact
Dont automatically open a new tab when clicking the contact link in the new invoice or give option to turn this off.
There is Alt+click shortcut on all browsers to do this already.
Making this auto open as default leads to too many unnecessary tabs and attributing to a more messy workflow3 votesAppreciate your feedback, Ximenes. To better understand your idea here, can you share what you would like to happen when you click on this link? E.g would you expect this to open the contact in the same page and shift away from the invoice?

Changing subtitles on reports when changing the year end
Changing subtitles on reports when changing the year end.
When shortening the year end, eg with Basis Reform periods, the year end is showing incorrectly as 'year end and the original year end date' rather than period end and the new year end date. It would be great to have the flexibility to amend subtitle dates within reports so that the accounts can be produced straight from Xero.4 votes -
Sales - Ability to 'add payment' to multiple invoices at once
This would be a really helpful time saver. When our clients make payments, sometimes one payment can be for 20 odd invoices. Rather than having to find each individual invoice to add the payment (which involves these steps: click on invoices awaiting payment > search for customer > click on last page > click on invoice > add payment > then repeat all steps 20 times); there are tick boxes next to the invoices, with the options to 'print', 'email', 'copy to'... could an option be added to the tick box, to 'add a payment'? Therefore the steps would be…
2 votesHi Emily, it sounds like you could use batch deposit here. This is available from the Awaiting payments list like you noted and will allow you to to record multiple invoices as paid in a single transaction.
It can be useful if you’re banking one deposit for multiple invoices, or when a customer makes a single payment for multiple invoices. 😊
Does this solve what you're after?

New invoicing - remove $ value within email
Hi Kelly,
Thank you for all your help with the new invoicing layout.
Would you please ask the product team to enable a tick box, or the ability to edit the header of an email, to remove the value of the invoice?
Please see attached image to see exactly what I'm referring to.
Kind regards,
Andrew Chadwick
