Bills | Awaiting Payment - Highlight the Planned date
Bills - Highlight the “Planned date” (in red or bold) as you select the date.
This would assist greatly when batching weekly and monthly payment batches and working alphabetically.
The Bills screen is very busy.

Reconcile Period - Note Date of Accounts Dashboard Tile
When an account is reconciled and the report is created for the period, it would be nice if there was a little summary alert for the end date of the most recent report on the dashboard tile (i.e. reconciled up to and including 28 Feb 2025). This would help to make VERY clear immediately which accounts are reconciled to which date and help to plan which accounts need work or need a report and which are done for the reporting period you are working on.

Xero Expenses - Default to today's date for receipts if date is missing
If Xero Expenses' OCR reader doesn't find a date in a photo/receipt, it sets it as 19 Feb 2022 (from reviewing a number of Expenses in my organisation submitted in December 2022 that don't have visible dates).
It would be more helpful to set the date as the day the Expense was initially created.
The submitter is likely to have incurred the Expense on the day they take a photo of the receipt. As it currently is, if a period isn't locked and the Approver isn't checking dates, they may inadvertently post entries to the wrong period, even…

Quotes: quotes past the expiry date should expire
At the moment, the options for quote status are: Draft, Sent, Declined, Accepted, and Invoiced. A sales quote that was sent but it's now past the date on which it expired still shows as Sent. It hasn't been Declined yet, but nor has it been Accepted, so there are quotes which are 4 years old still sitting in the list of valid quotes (see attached extract from the accounts of one of my clients). There needs to be another category for quotes which are old but which the customer may want to revisit (and therefore would be more…

Contacts - Default order of invoices/bills by 'Date'
When viewing a contact it would be helpful to have all the invoices or bills listed by "date". Currently they are listed by "activity date" but that is not relevant if I'm searching for an invoice. It can be changed manually, by clicking "date" twice (first time it brings oldest to the top!), but it's a very basic normal thing to look for invoices by the invoice date.

AU Payroll - Superannuation Payment: Filter by Week Ending not Due Date
It would be great to be able to filter by the PAYROLL DATE not just the DUE DATE for Superannuation Payments.
This would make it a lot easier when creating smaller super batch payments.
Currently, we pay our 100 staff's super each month (30 days after) and this means I need to manually click next to each individual payment line. I can multi-select all, but that will select every single line for all months.8 votes -

New Invoice Reports - Option to add a Date Paid column
Ability to add a date paid column in the new invoice reports.
Purpose: It’ll make users see the date paid figure in the report easily.
5 votesGood news everyone! we recently enhanced our Receivable Invoice Detail & Summary as well as Payable Invoice Detail & Summary report to have the option to add a Last Payment Date column. So you're now able to see the date of when an invoice or bill was paid.
Remember that you can always use Save the report as custom, so you don't have to change the report setting each time you're using the report.
Thank you for submitting your votes here. I'll mark this idea as 'delivered' now 🙂.

AU Payroll | Payroll Activity Detailed report - Separate date and Employee name columns
I hope that there's separate columns for date and employee name as seen in the previous report as it's totally useful when summarising data for various period. For instance, when generating the old report, it's completely quicker to use the pivot table and other excel formulas to calculate the total hours work and the corresponding cost in a certain period and prepare a comparative report for various pay item/period and employee using the old payroll activity detailed report. It's a single payroll report where all the relevant information is included.
32 votesHiya team, thank you for sharing your feedback and letting us know the detail and why this is valuable to you. Based on feedback we received on the Employee name and Date columns the team have just released an update to the Payroll Activity Detailed report to include Employee name and Date as separate columns in the report and these will now show by default.
This will help as noted when exporting and using the data for further analysis outside of Xero.

Accounts Receivable and Payable details reports - Flag manually entered 'expected date' in reports
On the Receivables and Payables Detail report, include a flag that shows when a planned payment date has been manually identified (as opposed to the credit terms due date). Will simplify cashflow forecasting

Bank report - Date last reconciled
Can we have a report showing the last date of bank reconciliation completed for clients?
This would be beneficial for me, listed by clients but also for the client.
3 votesHi Renu, you could run the History & Notes to see the last date of reconciliation in an org. If you search for 'reconciled ' this'll help you zone into the action if there's a lot of activity - See my image below.
Alternatively, you may find the Assurance dashboard useful where you can get a view of user activity and Bank Account activity.

Conversion Date Mid-Month
When posting conversion balances, you have to post balances at the end of the month. If you could select a day, i.e. 5th of April, it would make posting conversion balances a lot easier

New Invoicing - Time stamp in History & Notes
In the classic invoicing history, we can see the date and timestamp, this is not available in the new invoicing - see attached screenshots.
We use this time stamp a lot for trouble shooting - like what time or XPM and what time was the invoice approved. This helps if there is an integration problem or double up, or payment query.
78 votesWell that was quick! 😉 It turns out along with an entry when an invoice is sent, our product team also managed to release time stamps 🎉
In history & notes of new invoicing, next to the date you'll now see a time stamp of when an entry occurred. Thank you all who voted and shared with us on the idea, here.

AU Payroll - Automatically calculate pro-rata salary based on employee's starting date
New Employee start date is part way through a pay week. The New pay run does not recognise the start day and calculates an entire weeks pay.
This requires manual calculation and double check if the pay run has been recalculated. Open to errors and over payment17 votes -
Invoice Reporting (Payables) - Ability to include Planned Date as a separate column
In the new reports you can run a report, by supplier, of invoices that are due and planned to be paid, which is great. There is a differentiation between due and planned in both screen detail and reporting. The schuduled/planning option enables users or managers to plan which invoices they wish to pay either by viewing on Xero or running in a report. However, the reporting option puts the two together by adding in an invoice wiht the same due date, if a planned date has not been entered. This means that invoices not scheduled/planned to be paid are…

GST | Re-registering - Pick start date
Sometimes an entity will de-register for GST because they are no longer required to file, then circumstances change and they re-register. Currently in Xero when you re-register Xero creates all the prior period GST returns for when the client was deregistered. You then have to manually delete all the prior draft returns.
Would be great if you could have an option to choose the new start date for GST.
thanks!

UK Payroll - Set the date for when payslips are available
It would be useful if payslips could be scheduled to be posted to Xero Me on a date after the payroll is run. Eg you may run the payroll mid-month but want employees to be able to see their payslips on the date the payment is made at the end of the month.

Sales Invoices - Automatic Invoicing Date options
For when creating an re-occuring invoice, there is occasions, where invoices must be sent at specific times of the month, for example...
- Last Day of the month
- Every 2nd Tuesday
- Last Thursday of the month
The reason behind this, is because some companies who you are invoicing operate specific payment cycles, and in order for a small business to get paid within the terms of their invoice ( Late Payment Act 1998 & your own article on [ https://www.xero.com/uk/guides/invoice-payment-terms/ ] - Payments terms are getting shorter )
More tools we Small businesses have, there better equipped we are in order…

NZ GST - Include Payment due date on finalised/filed
Where have the GST due dates gone from the new GST Return layout?
Also would it be viable for Xero to default no GST for transactions up to a certain date considering some businesses are registered from any point during a month.

Uncoded Statement Lines report - Default 'To' today's date
Currently when accessing the Uncoded Statement Lines report, the last date of the prior month will appear in the To field. This is currently set as the default in Xero.
Be more helpful if the current date was entered as it is the current entries that are being queried. If everything is up to date there should few if any aged items left in the reconciliation report.
3 votesThanks for the feedback, Richard. Can see where you're coming from and we'll get a sense of the overall interest from users on the thread here but want to be open that we don't have immediate plans for changing this.
To enable a little more swiftness when changing the date of this report you may find typing the letter 't' before clicking or tabbing through to the next field helpful - we have a few more date entry shortcuts you may like to explore, too.
