Projects | Bills assigned to a Project - Filter and search options
Feedback - Projects: Reporting - Bills assigned to a Project
This is providing feedback on the new feature released in response to
Unfortunately, the issue has been closed for comments - which seems strange as this feature release is clearly a start and not the end of the road for this topic.
My feedback: Thanks for shipping this new feature. It is a good start, but only a start.
Most businesses have a large number of suppliers (& bills) that are overheads related and not project related. As such, these need to be omitted from the view to useful see the bills to be reviewed / assigned to projects. Key items for filtering in this regard are: (a) Contacts (certain contacts will non-project related always, (b) Filter by P&L account (only certain cost/expense accounts related to project work in many cases).
Add some of you standard components: (a) date range shortcuts - FY, quarter etc as per reports, (b) a general text search/filter.
Thanks Xero Team!

19 votesThanks Daniel, and really appreciate your feedback in relation to the recent release and update of the idea you've linked - Feedback you share on our Status updates also get back to the teams involved so they've received your comments there too!
Not meaning to cut the curb the conversation, but we do sometimes need to make tough decisions of when to change the status of an idea.
It's great to get a fresh sense and understanding of interest in further improvements to this feature that our Projects product team can consider development for.
I've slightly amended the title of your idea to reflect the abilities to search and filter within this view and it's really good to have this detail from you of the specific fields and ways in which you'd make use of this change.
We'll begin feeling out the community interest on the idea here, and can keep you updated of any plans made 🙂

AU Payroll - Hide employee personal details for payrun
In the age of outsourcing, it is impossible to outsource pay run function to an external service provider (especially if they are based overseas) since they can view employee's personal info such as their Tax File Number, Date of Birth, Bank account Details etc.
Once the subscriber or authorized accountant/bookkeeper has created an employee card, they should be able to restrict the access of outsourced partner to just doing the pay run. The outsourced partner should be able to just view the employee name to do the pay run. This feature should restrict their ability to change bank account details or hourly rates, they shouldn't be able to view their TFN, date of birth, contact details etc. Having this feature on Xero will improve functionality and make Xero the only software provider in the market with this feature. Currently, no software provider has this feature.

AU Payroll - Automatically calculate pro-rata salary based on employee's starting date
New Employee start date is part way through a pay week. The New pay run does not recognise the start day and calculates an entire weeks pay.
This requires manual calculation and double check if the pay run has been recalculated. Open to errors and over payment17 votes -
AU Payroll - Option to delete additional super funds from the employee record
I'd like the ability to delete a super fund from an Employee's Employment tab where they originally had two super funds operating in parallel, and then closed one of their accounts. Currently the obsolete super fund can not be deleted, and can only be updated, which means you end up with two of the same super funds in the employment tab.

Bank statement - Filter by spent or received
Bank statement search needs to allow the user to filter the search by spent or received as the amounts elements apply to both spent and received.
Also - please fix the bug with status being ignored by the search.

Purchases - Ability to apply a deposit
Deposits on Sales and Purchases - will this ever be possible in Xero? The workarounds are fine if you have a few deposits to keep track of. But what if you have many? Like my Art Gallery client where most art is sold on a 'layby' system. The layby isn't recorded as a sale until it is fully paid. The customer makes multiple payments. There is no way to directly link the payments to a pending sale. They all coded on-mass into a prepayment liability account. The only way to keep track of payments is a spreadsheet which is time consuming, unweildly and prone to errors. SURELY this functionality can be added to Xero. Pretty, please?

Inventory - Add a Quantity on Order column to the Inventory Item Summary report
Would it be possible to be able to select Quantity on Order as a column option in the Inventory Item Summary report.
Such feature would greatly enhance the product overview in this report.8 votes -
Reporting - Checkbox to reconcile bills against supplier statements
I think it would be helpful to have an interactive check box next to invoices in aged payables detail report to help with reconciling against supplier statement.

Reporting - Add Related Account filter to Account Transactions report
For some reason the related account is not available to filter on the Account Transactions Report. Can this please be added?
7 votesHi Esteon, you're right that it's not currently possible to Filter by the Related account column atm. It'd be good to understand what you;re trying to look at when running this report atm.
Rather than filter by related account, could you select the Account that you'd be looking to filter by and then click the Related account header to order the transactions by the account they came from?

CIS deduction after retention - subcontractor invoices
When creating subcontractor bills and deducting retention, the CIS includes the retention when calculating the deduction
For example, XERO should read:
£250.00
minus 3% retention (£7.50)
£242.50
minus CIS (£48.50)
= £194.00HOWEVER, XERO calculates:
£250.00
minus 3% retention (£7.50)
minus CIS (£50.00) (off the gross amount not the amount after retention deducted)
= £200.00This means that CIS deduction is incorrect.
There is no way around this currently even though similar issues have been raised since 2019 on Xero discussion threads and no solution has been made.
The only way around it offered by Xero means that payment & deduction statements are not as per HMRC guidelines and would not show retention deducted from a subcontractor meaning that contractors could be fined! When creating subcontractor bills and deducting retention, the CIS includes the retention when calculating the deduction

AU Payroll - Ability to reverse pay run
An option to do a reversal of a current pay run as currently there is no option to allow this. I had a pay run today and the client had not let me know that there was a change to their pay run until after it had been lodged with the ATO. I subsequently went to the portal and found that both pay runs had been processed as was out to the actual amount in Xero.

Audit Trail Report
We desperately need an audit trail report available for advisors.
I think it would be sufficient to have the below added to the account transactions report style (but named as Audit Trail):
1 - the ability to include an 'edited date' column
2 - the ability to include a 'notes' column
3 - a tick box to show/hide audit trail history (so voids would show as separate creation and void lines netting off, not just removal of the original transaction)
4 - a unique un-editable transaction identifier for all transactions, not just bills/invoicesIt must be exportable to excel with the dates on every line.
So many times I have gone to produce a set of accounts and the prior year has changed because the date wasn't locked, or the client unlocked it, or someone didn't realise they shouldn't retrospectively correct the bank after filing the year end...

New invoicing | Payments - Auto populate FX rates
To have the Xero Fx rate populate automatically, show up as a suggestion, or be able to be selected via drop-down list within the Payments screen when Fx is involved. Currently you have to open a new tab, go to settings/currency, enter you date and then copy/paste the Fx rate.
1 voteHi team, while this isn't in our plans right now, we'll track interest in this here and share if there's any change.
If coming across this idea you feel this'd be useful to you too, make sure to add your vote.

Quotes- Ability to approve quotes
Hi there,
Most clients cannot accept 'DRAFT' quotes, and not all clients like to be emailed through Xero (how you turn it non-DRAFT currently).
Please can you add the same functionality as an invoice where you can accept, save and export it so we can email non-DRAFT quotes to clients and keep communication on our systems/in the format they like?
THANK YOU

Bank Rules - Ability to set Date as a criteria
It would be great to have the date of bank transactions as a criteria field when creating a rule. When we are paid by the ESFA, the amounts we receive at the beginning of the month have a different nominal to those received later in the month. In Sage we could set a rule as 'between 2 dates'
1 voteHi Sarah, when a bank rule is applied it'll use the date of the statement line to apply to the transaction it creates so you don't need to set this within the rule itself. Or are you saying you'd like to set the date of the transaction that's going to be created when the bank rule is applied?
