  1. Currently the 'attach files' function in the Products and Services (Inventory) only allows attachment of files outside of Xero. It cannot attach files from Xero inbox.
    Currently, my client will send documents directly into Xero inbox. I have to open the document, download it and save outside of Xero and attach files to Products and Services. Just too many steps. Would appreciate it if your team can look into this.

  2. Ability to import the number of days of annual leave/other leave taken per employee for the month. It is very time consuming to manually add the leave taken for each employee when completing the payroll each month.

  3. It would be great to be able to export a report of all notes on employees contact. We use the notes section to record notes about attendance issues, conversations, warnings given.

    You might've noticed that we've recently added a new button to the Payroll menu - Payroll History.

    This report keeps track of all the changes recorded in your Payroll History tabs and can be filtered by employee. You can then search 'Notes' to view all of an employee's notes in full on one page.

    Whilst this page can't be exported, you can print the resulting page, or copy the values to a blank excel sheet.

  5. Would really appreciate the ability to export expense claims for an individual employee for a defined period which shows which are billable to a client and those that are not.

    Currently the Expense Claim Detail report only shows aged (unpaid) expenses and the Account Transactions Report shows all expenses whether paid, unpaid or submitted, but doesn't differentiate those that are general expenses from those that can be billed to Clients (Customers).

    Hard to believe we are the first small business to request this functionality.

  6. I have been following a number of ideas, and it is apparent that some confusion often occurs when using the terminology 'Bills' and 'Invoices'.

    Could we have the option within Xero for bills to be referred to as 'Supplier Invoices' or 'Purchase Invoices', and invoices referred to as 'Customer Invoices' or 'Sales Invoices' to avoid this confusion, as they are in every other accounts package I have used?

  7. Hi, requesting an improved memo setting within payroll. Can we have more setting for memo? for an example a font, format (bold, italic, strike and understrike) and repeating memo.
    Example, a quite unique bonus system for a certain employee and we would like to show her the description for the bonus. we would like to put it on a smaller font size with italic format.

  9. When entering dates, can you please bring back the mouse scrolling function, where you could scroll down to go to the next month.
    Rather than now, we have to click the right button to go to next month.

  10. When entering multiple contacts, it would be good to have the option to "save and create new contact" as well as the "Cancel" and "Save and Close" option after entering the information. Currently you have to press Save and Close, go back to Contacts, then select New Contact.

  11. Journal Accrual or Cash Basis default setting and journal import column.

    Default journal setting in is Xero is to post on a cash basis - apply a settings to select which basis is the default method (Cash or Accrual)

    Import journals on accrual basis - add an extra column to the import template to state if the journal is accrual or cash basis or a default setting if blank.

  12. When users are reconciling quite often two mistakes are made frequently:

    • Reconciling wages payable incorrectly to Wages and salaries (expense)
    • Reconciling super payable incorrectly to Superannuation (expense)

    It would be great to have a checkbox similar to "Enable Payments" that says "Do not allow reconciliation to this account" so that when people search for wages/superannuation they can't get shown the incorrect option.

  14. It would be good to be able to clearly identify accounting practice users on a clients xero platform. All they see is name and email and it would be good if the accounting firms name was somehow shown to give clients comfort especially where firms outsource work.

  15. Changes to Xero that have not improved the program

    How do I upload files from Xero Files (documents scanned to Xero etc) to my client it no longer allows this - previously you could access either Xerol Files or your own files from your drive - am I missing something ? Also you can no longer just print invoices you have to download them _ why this is a total pain - the joy of Xero was always click and print or email ??? Please put it back many thanks Kate Milne long time user and Xero fan!!!!

  16. Apart from utilising the Notes function in client profiles, may I suggest a field be added for short term notes (not needed to be archived) to highlight an alert/instruction/warning for all staff when working on a particular client. As an example: do not lodge Tax returns for ABC until Paid.

  17. I would like to be able to have a remapping feature (similar to find and recode) but on a bulk stage. It is common that a business operation changes and the previous COA is no longer fit for purpose and updates are needed.

    This can be done by having a feature that presents the COA with a current a proposed column. The proposed is automatically mapped to the current if no answer is added. In the proposed there is a drop down item that allows you to remap all historical transactions to a different account or remap.

  18. Please consider adding a field to the contact, to show how payment is made (BACS, DD, Proforma, Credit Card etc). This would avoid paying a supplier bill via BACS when there is already a DD arrangement set up. Likewise, for customers we can turn off statements for DD payers. You could show this on the summary screen and make it a selection field when running aged debt/credit reports.

    Hi community, we want to update you that we've recently released the ability to include Purchase Orders (PO) through Payable Invoice Summary report. If you expand the side panel on the left of the report and select the 'Outstanding purchase orders summary' report, this will automatically display all Bills, Credit Notes and Purchase Orders and group them by Contact for you. You can use the total row of each contact to infer the remaining balance.

    We're aware this may not directly show the information that you’re asking for here, so we'll keep the status idea as it is and we’ll let you know if there’s any further updates.

  20. We use another software programme which exports all our customer details and invoices etc into Xero automatically. The other programme uses Google to create addresses. A lot of the addresses include te reo, so include macrons. When the text is imported into Xero the macrons cause non-recognition of the characters, so we end up with a mess.
    Surely in this modern world, Xero, an Aotearoa, New Zealand, developed programme, can be made to recognise our indigenous (Official) language, and allow correct te reo spellings.
    This is 2022 not 1922, please allow us to get this basic NZ requirement correct. Xero…

    Hi Karin, would it be possible to get a few more examples of names that you've tried to import and not have show with macrons? 

    One of our team have tested creating a contact via import with the name Whakatāne (/mækrn, me-/) and this created a contact in Xero as shown in this image. 

    It'd be great to better understand and see if we can look into this a bit more.
