Product Development Ideas - Ability for Xero Support to link case to XPI ideas
If there is a customer query it would helpful if the Xero Support Staff were able to add this as a Product Development Idea themselves, instead of having to send a link to the Xero user who raised the issue.

History & Notes - View deleted bank rules
My Bank rules were deleted by someone. Xero doesn't have a restore function or the ability to see who deleted these.

Xero Files - Attach files to Bank or Nominal Accounts
It would be a really useful to be able to attach files to a bank account within Xero, much as you can to a contact or transaction.
The use cases for this could be:

Overpayments - Create Overpayments with Tax on for cash basis VAT
Ability for Xero to treat an overpayment with VAT on - I don't want to use a secondary debtors control account.
We have a client on the VAT cash accounting scheme and we have a number of overpayments which need to hit the debtors control account. When I run the VAT return, these amounts are not being captured for VAT purposes since there is no option to select a tax rate when using the overpayments option.

Invoice - Default window size when viewing attachment
Enable Xero to remember the zoom and window size when viewing a document attached to an invoice, bill, purchase order etc.
I always find it annoying that the default size for viewing an attachment is too small and I need to increase the zoom and window size every time.

Contacts - Export and import all contact fields
Our contact cards are set up automatically through an API directly from our billing systems (we have multiple systems that are all coded differently). Fields like currency and branding are not updated with this link; therefore, the fields default to our Xero account settings. We want to export the contact card list with these fields to identify the clients with information that needs updating, to then fix and import in one step instead of updating each card.

User Role - Ability to share a published report with users
Every month I publish, export and share reports with certain individuals. I would like to do this within Xero. I set up users who can have "View published reports" access. When I publish a report I can then select that report and choose which of these users I wish to share it with. The user is notified, can login to Xero and is then presented with a list of published reports that have been shared with them. It keeps all the functionality native to Xero.

It would be great if there was a function to add a template including a business logo for the monthly subcontractor CIS payment certificates - like the invoicing templates.

Sales report - By contact location
It's unfathomable to me that it is not possible to do something as simple as output sales by state or by province or by country or by city. These are discreet fields in Xero and we ought to be able to filter a sales or P&L report to just include sales for some regions or to summarize by state or country. Right now all I can do is export all transactions and run everything through excel, which is not the way this should work. Thanks.

From Contacts you can set up and get a list of customers that meet certain rules that you've set up - such as 'Location' is and setting this to one or more locations your customers are based.

Navigation - Update the user interface
Not a major one but I feel the whole online site needs a facelift.
Information is not given in an easy to process way and this can make navigating the program more complicated than it seems to be.I recently transferred over from MYOB and where I feel the general program of Xero is better for ease of reconciling etc. some tasks can feel super overcomplicated and difficult to carry out due to poor layout and outdated visuals. Bills - Don't change the Description when editing the Item column on lines
When editing a bill, say the item column it removes the data that is on that line. Can this be avoided?
2 votesHi Robert, coming back across your idea here I want to be open that we don't have any plans for this. The Item field is driven by your inventory products and services, which is why it auto description and other fields with the contents saved for that item. If you have pre-filled the description column and need to change the item we'd recommend copying this so once you update the items you can paste your text back in the description column.

Organisation Settings - Display more than 5 organizations from change organisation drop down list
When a person has more than 5 organizations in their portfolio the 'Change of Organization' drop down list only shows the most recent 5 used. It would be helpful if ALL your organizations showed on screen to choose from. Or of course, having the option to reduce to the 5 normal.

BAS (AU) - Monthly PAYG Income tax instalment
Xero doesn't currently have the option for reporting PAYG Income Tax Instalment on a monthly basis. Could Xero look into providing this option in the monthly BAS Activity Statement reporting.

add column in invoice overview. Hi, I was wondering if I can add a column in the program in invoices overview. When I used sage 50 account before, I could see a list of invoices and first few lines of what the include. Now when I go to a customer and would like to check how much I charged for particular job and I don't know when it was done, I need to open each individual invoice to see description. Contacts - Add screen scroll bar to allow better view when minimised
It would be good for the lower scroll bar to display when a screen is minimised (in contacts). Currently, if you minimise the screen (as I do when I am comparing entries in another external on-line tab, for example, with my HMRC account, or my on-line bank account) you can only see the left of the minimised screen. The information does not compact into a full but smaller screen, neither is there a scroll button to scroll the information to the right. Xero Analytics Plus | STCF - Options to export
Even though the above feature in XERO has great potential for add on value services to clients, example, 90 days cash flow projections, I am very surprised that no one asked, why cant we produce a report in PDF or Excel??? Isn't this an essential part of a report?
