AU Payroll - Assign an employee to more than one pay calendar
Ability to switch between payroll calendars for an employee with multiple roles eg Jane is on the weekly payroll for her role as studio manager. She is also paid monthly super only for her roles as a sub-contractor yoga teacher.
So far we have managed this by posting Jane's weekly pay, and then switching the payroll calender to process the super and then switching it back again. The problem is that if Jane is already in a draft weekly payrun the calendar can't be switched until the draft payrun is processed. This makes the process fiddly.

Projects - Add Invoice Paid Column to Project Summary Report
We've started using Projects and I've created a test project, sales and purchase invoice and have marked the sales invoice as paid.
However the project summary report doesn't show that the client/sales invoice has been paid and this is so important for us to be able to plan our payment run for the direct costs relating to that client/project.
Can this field be added to the report?

Recent Bills report - Reinstate "View recent bills report"
The "View recent bills report" functionality on a Contact page has changed since the new reporting was deployed this week. Previously, if you clicked on the link you would see a nice list of all approved bills for that vendor whether paid or not. This functionality has now changed and is effectively useless. Yes, you can get the same info by going into Business/bills to pay but that it is more clunky. Thank you.

Sales invoice - Export Contact account number
Hi,
I have seen several posts about the Account Number not being searchable/usable within the system or via exports. Contacts' names can vary easily from the different systems used by a company and even between departments: ABCco , ABC Company Ltd, ABC Ltd... - the account number can solve these format issues.
In my case i need to export invoices in csv to be then imported in another system, also the invoice standard template has this field (to be ticked or not) it does not get exported which is rather peculiar; that obliges our finance to maintain a mapping file in excel and run a formula which is far from ideal.
Will this get solved in the near future?Hi,

If so we don't have any direct plans for developing this at this stage. I'll change the title of your idea here slightly and we can get a sense of the interest from the community of this, here.

AU Payroll - Ability to calculate protected amount for child support deduction
Currently payroll is only able to child support as a deduction.
In Australia, there is a protected amount that employee needs to earn before the deduction is taken out of their pay. There isn't a function that will allow this currently.
Payroll officers manually have to keep track of this and remove the deduction if protected amount is not reached. Small businesses with a few employees would be able to keep track but for the likes of a bigger business with more than 20+ employees, this would be a nightmare.

Invoice - Add billable expense hyperlink invoice to bill
I can create a Purchase Order, and from that I can mark it as billed and it creates a bill record for this purchase, putting the PO number into the Reference field of the Bill. The Bill also has a hyperlink to jump to the Purchase Order.
Within the Bill, I can assign the expense to a customer, which is fine.
When I create the customer Invoice, I have the option to add billable expenses, which is fine, and it marks the line as a billable expense, but there is no hyperlink to jump from the Invoice to the Bill.
Having created the Invoice, when I go back to the Bill, the chargeable expense line is marked as invoiced to "Customer Name" followed by a hyperlink to open the Invoice which is perfect! So in summary:
There is a hyperlink on the PO to jump to the Bill - Perfect
There is a hyperlink on the Bill to jump to the Invoice - Perfect
There is a hyperlink on the Bill to jump to the PO - Perfect
There is NO hyperlink on the Invoice to jump to the Bill - This is the missing link and would be very useful!!Adding this hyperlink would allow you to look up a customer invoice and very quickly track back any items to the purchase Bill and Purchase Order, something that is very important in the case of a warranty claim on a failed item!
Where the line on the invoice is marked "Billable Expense" could this not simply include a hyperlink to jump to the Bill?
(Out of interest, this is also one thing that Quickbooks can do that Xero cannot!)I can create a Purchase Order, and from that I can mark it as billed and it creates a bill record for this purchase, putting the PO number into the Reference field of the Bill. Bank Reconciliation Report - Show how a statement line was deleted
The current Statement Exceptions report in the Bank Reconciliation report pack doesn't differentiate between statement lines that were deleted individually and statement lines that were deleted as part of removed an entire statement. Both are listed as Deleted (Manually).
It would be helpful if the report marked these types of deletions differently since only individually deleted statement lines still appear on the Bank statements tab/can be restored.

Allow the Why entry from reconciliations to be displayed in reports
When I reconcile a transaction in my bank account I can enter a "Why". I.e. Gas for Youth Hostel. So when I have multiple transactions to the same customer, under the same Chart of Account I can differentiate them.
However, this data entry can not be pulled into a report. This is really hampering my ability to differentiate my transactions.
5 votesHi Stephen, is there a specific report you've been running to try include this data?
When creating a transaction during bank rec, the 'why' is saved as the description of the transaction. You should be able to run the Account Transactions report to view this detail in the Account you've coded payment too. Let me know how you get on. 🙂

NZ Payroll - Allow timesheet approval for employees with authority
For employees who use Xero My Payroll, if you are a Payroll Admin user, you can grant employees authority to approve leave. The option for Timesheet approval should also be there, it is available in other countries but not NZ.

Apportioning single cost bill line to several projects
Projects Management - There are instances when a bill line item needs to be apportioned/allocated to two or more projects. At the moment the only way to do this is by splitting this line item across several bill lines (as many as projects to allocate to) and then do the allocation. The idea would be to add a "Split" button to the project allocation form, say next to current search field in the form ( not the search at the top but the one next to each billed item), so that current functionally remains i.e. type project in search box to allocate 100% of the cost to that project or, if needs to be split, the user clicks the button of the given cost bill line and a form is offered to add several projects and their corresponding apportionment in % or money value. Simple checks like the sum equates to 100% or total line value would prevent user input error mistakes.

Xero Expenses - Option to assign VAT rates to employees
Xero Expenses - Limit the selection of VAT rates available for employees to select (we have a client who has domestic reverse charge, reverse charge and other VAT rates that the employees will never need to select and therefore it would be better to reduce the available list for them to select from otherwise they are more likely to select the wrong rate)

Projects - Add 'actual hours' and 'estimated hours' to Summary Report
Project Summary Report always had actual hours and estimated hours on and since it has been updated this option is no longer available and that is 2 of the most important columns for us. Also the wording of the headings have changed and no longer match the Project Details report which is ridiculous. This report needs to be converted back to how they used to be.

NZ Payroll - Customise Cash Summary Report
Xero Payroll Journal non-cash option for the Cash Summary
Currently all transactions from the Payroll Journal will pull through to the Cash Summary Report. The information that pulls through doesn't differentiate what has being paid from a bank account or non-cash.
Suggestion to add a functionality in Xero Payroll and exclude certain items from the Payroll Journal from automatically showing in the Cash Summary Report.

Invoicing - Assign & invoice a billing client
To be able to Assign & invoice a billing client within blue Xero. It’s not unusual to have a central billing agency looking after subsidiaries accounts so the ability to bill the agency while having the subsidiary with thin your system to raise the invoice against would work well.

AU Payroll - Manually including extra PAYG tax needs a zero cents validation
Typically Xero calculates all PAYG tax to be withdrawn from employees to the nearest dollar. Correct. However, the same check isn't in place if you manually add extra tax. In the past, I included extra tax to be withdrawn from an employee and included cents in the amount. At tax prep time, this caused a headache for my accountant. Xero could easily prevent this each time or warn you closer to the end of financial year to get back on track with zero cents.

Bank Feeds - Automatic feed for BNZ, rather than having to update online
BNZ do not provide receivers with online access to accounts. Xero only allow BNZ bank feeds to be updated online. Receiving timely access to transactions is very important but BNZ & Xero have decided to cease this feature and not provide a solution for all customers.
