Chart of Accounts - Ability to add custom fields
Provide the ability to add Custom Fileds to Chart of Accounts entries. Perhaps 3 each of the following field types... Date, Text, Number (to 2 decimal places), Logical Fields (Tick Boxes).
3 votesHi John, to better understand how these custom fields would help - could you explain where you'd expect them to appear or how you might use them?
For example, would you expect to be able to report on these? It sounds like you'd like them to be visible when entering an item such as posting a journal, or adding a line to an invoice however it'd be good to know how you expect these to differ to the fields that are available in those as well.
For example when adding an invoice you can enter an issue and due date, writes a text description and enter a price with 2d.p.

Sales invoice List - Option to add an "Excluding" filter option
When using search in Bills/Invoices Awaiting Payment, it would be beneficial to include an option to allowing to search or filter for "not" or "excluding".
For example, if I want to exclude a particular customer/supplier from the displayed results, I could search for that contact name and check "not" or "excluding".
Secondary, but in the same vain, when you do add the ability to search or filter by contact group within bill/invoices, this feature would also be extremely handy to exclude a particular group from the results.

NZ Payroll - Support for multi-currency
Small businesses are now much more global and have employees in multiple countries. Therefore payroll should also accomodate for multi currencies, otherwise several different payroll sytems need to be used. DEEL is available in multi currency so it would be logical that Xero Payroll is also

Invoice Reminders: Ability to select that reminders only go to original recipient/s

I prefer to check 'include in emails' for all contacts in an organisation, as the quote & invoice recipient/s often vary & I find it simpler to delete unnecessary recipients from the list on each quote or invoice than to add them. I've only just accidentally realised (after years of use) that invoice reminders go out to every email address in an organisation that is 'included in emails' & not just the email recipient/s of the original invoice - I've been unintentionally sending reminders to multiple recipients who have nothing to do with payment... Very embarassing!Other than having to uncheck 'include in emails' for every contact in all of my Contact profiles, bar 'Accounts Payable', or more likely making Accounts Payable the primary contact, is there a way to have the reminders only go out to the original invoice recipient/s?

Thanks for getting in touch.As you may already be aware, invoice reminders are sent to the primary contact and any additional people who have the Include in emails option ticked in their contact record and it's currently not possible to change this.

Contacts - Ability to search group
Currently when you want to add a contact to a group and you have a entire list of different groups, you can not search for the group you are looking for, you have to scroll through your list. It is very frustrating not being able to search for the group.

Xero Accounting app - Ability to add & edit repeating invoices
In the app, it would be a huge timesaver if you could create repeating invoices. I spend most of my time in the android app and this is the one thing it's missing 🙂

UK Payroll - Employee time tracking
I need to report on employee timesheets against my tracking categories. For example how many hours have employees recorded against Job A, Job B, Job C etc in any given timescale. In the transaction/payroll activity report it only gives £ and not into tracking categories.

Advanced templates - Font for Thai language
Custom Invoice Template did not work well for Thai characters. I've used Tahoma font as suggested on https://central.xero.com/s/article/Change-font-layout-and-column-headings-on-invoices-quotes?userregion=true#Useforeignlanguagecharactersininvoicesandotherdocuments but the characters above and below letters are not display properly.
Please find the attached for your reference.I would like to ask for a font that can work well with Thai characters on invoice template.

Contacts - Sort customers/clients by surname
Option to sort customers/suppliers by their surname.
Purpose: This feature will make it easier for users to find their contacts in Xero.

Sales - Ability to calculate commissions
Ability to track Sales representatives commission for each sale.
Each invoice to a customer will require a commission calculation to be made and accrued to the reps account.Purpose: Ease of keeping track of commissions owed, and a pulse on cashflows

Reporting - View payment reference and date paid
Reporting - to run a report that can show payment information (eg. paid date) and reference/item information.
A report under cash basis does not show the reference that I put on the invoice reference or the item information chosen in the invoice, it is really hard to search receivable payment based on the information I need (PFA).
A xero support specialist explained that because there is no reference on the payment, I can only search by Contact name or invoice number. But, when we do reconciliations to match the bank received with the invoice, there is nowhere to add an additional reference for receiving payment. How can we search for a receivable payment reference if we can not add them?Therefore, it will be great if a report under cash basis could show the reference I put on invoices or items I picked in invoices to help us more to search information. Especially, when we receive partially payments form customers, there is no report to show that a invoice was partially paid at what amount and on which date.

New reports - stop default jumping to top of the reporting page on refresh
The new reports are, as default, jumping to the top of the page on refresh. This is impractical and time consuming having to scroll down back to where you were. Can this be looked at and stopped

Invoice Payments - Reverse bounced payments without removing from Accounts Receivable
Occassionally a debit order fails/ bounces after a considerable amount of time, after the receipt has already reflected on a customer statement. In this case, I should be able to reverse the receipt without removing it from the Accounts Receivable account.
For example, a debit order runs in March and bounces several weeks later in April, after the customer has received a statement.
E.g. end of March they receive a statement showing
Opening Balance 0
Invoice 100
Receipt -100
Closing Balance 0When the receipt now bounces in April, their next (April) statement should begin with what the closing balance was on the last statement:
Opening Balance 0
Receipt reversed 100
Closing Balance 100I should be able to unallocate the receipt from the invoice and reverse it at a later date, and these transactions should reflect in to customer's account.

Remittance - Automate 'send me a copy'
When sending invoices using my laptop the 'send me a copy option' remains ticked when creating invoices but it does not remain ticked when sending remittance advices. This would be helpful please.

Invoicing - Choose which columns to show on the Invoices screens
It would be great to be able to choose which headings are visible on the default invoices view. There are some customisable reports which allow you to run a report with your preferred view. But for others such as repeating invoices there are no options.
Our company has different teams, so for these it would be good to customise the column headers, to show the contact groups the client belongs to. This would allow us to forecast what upcoming invoices are due for each team, so that they can allocate resources accordingly.
Ideally the following would be helpful
1) the functionality to customise the headings of the repeating invoices view
2) add an export to excel or pdf option and

Bills - Ability to approve a bill with a total negative amount
I would like to have the ability to create a bill with a negative balance. This way, I can control the full credit to the exact sales tax account. The current way a Credit is applied to a batch bill it takes a percentage off each line item (total due and sales tax). I have to remit tax in multiple states, and the way credits are handled throws off my totals to remit. Right now, I edit existing bills and apply credits within the bill for a workaround. It's a painful process. Creating a bill with a negative balance would be the perfect solution! THANKS

Projects | Tabs - Ability to filter by status
To add Sort and Filter into Quotes & Invoices and Task & expenses inside a Project, so we can filter by Price/Status/Draft/Awaiting payment/Paid or sort we we want it

Contacts - Export formatted contact details (like PDF)
I was recently asked by a client how create a formatted PDF list of their contacts in Xero with addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses etc.
They had been asked for this by their factoring provider.
I know they can select all contacts and use the option at the top of the screen to export, but that creates a csv file which obviously doesn't have any formatting and runs the risk of it being opened in Excel which then messes up phone numbers etc (we are in the UK where phone numbers start 0 and Excel 'helpfully' removes this when opening the csv file and if you are not careful when saving the file down again you can lose it for good).
Can the export option have a choice to export to PDF, or can you add a report that lists all the contacts with all their details (similar to what shows on the contacts screen) which can then be sent to Excel / PDF / Google sheets etc in the same way as others?

While we also don't have plans for creating a report that includes all the detail from a contacts record atm I've slightly adjusted the title of your idea here and we'll continue to track interest in this here. If any plans are made down the line I'll be sure to let you know on the idea here.

UK Payroll - Indicate premiums on payslip when payrolling health insurance benefit
Be able to add a message for each individual employee to tell them what their premium is for their medical insurance benefit.
The premium for each employee is different, so can't use the payslip message on a payroll run. Adding individual data to a person's payslip each month is too labour intensive.
Maybe some type of pay item without affecting their pay/tax/NI etc. It could then be added to their pay template so it appears every month.

UK Payroll - Calculate pension contributions on pre-SMP earnings
Employer pension contributions for employees on SMP should be calculated on the employee's earnings before they went on leave, not on the reduced rate of 90%. Xero's calculation is currently on the latter with no option to overwrite. The correct calculation would be first choice, but the option to change figures would be helpful also

Right now, you can create an additional Employer Pensions pay item and add it to the employee's Pay Template. When the pay run is processed you'll be able to enter in the difference due, to ensure the total contributions equals the required value. If anything changes in this space, we’ll update you on this idea.
