  1. Apportion payment to specific line items on invoices. This would allow you to choose where to apply the payment, making it possible to have invoices with multiple payments to have the sales taxed/no sale tax payment correctly and just not proportionally.

  2. Like it says on the tin. Why do Xero send an unnecessary EPS each month when its not needed? If I want to change my payroll, great send the EPS when I approve it. If I make a late payment, send the EPS once I've finalised the payroll. But please stop sending pointless returns which makes me wonder what Xero is doing filing unnecessary data that is more likely to cause problems with HMRC than not given their systems.

  3. Currently bill costs are not posted to the accounts until it has been approved. It would be beneficial if once a bill was entered/submitted for approval in xero the costs were shown in the accounts. If the approver is not available to approve the bills it holds up finalising month end accounts.

  4. Payroll>Employees>Leave currently has leave balances in days and dollar values, this makes it difficult to determine what the amount should be either way.
    As the dollar amount may change due to pay rises or an average applied as per statutory legislation, it would be better if all fields were hours based values. This would make it consistent and easier as a consumer to use.
    As a user, I should not have to be trying to calculate what the values should be and if something doesn't appear to be right, I should not need to contact Xero to find out…

    Hi team, we've recently released changes in Xero Payroll. As you may have seen you can now set up working patterns for employees to more accurately calculate employees wages and leave. While Holiday pay remains in dollars, Annual Leave will show in weeks and FBAPS Leave will now be shown in days.

    Just to note, Holiday Pay is not a one to one correlation to Annual Leave, however if you prefer to have leave in hours you could consider enabling leave in advance. You can see our article here for more information on managing employees leave.

  5. Ability to flag multiple invoices and update the due date.

    Purpose: It saves users’ time to update the due date in bulk, especially when their customers have some special terms that can change the due date of invoices.

  6. The Danish Business Authority requires Accounting Systems to be approved by them in order for you to use their system in the country. XERO currently have no plans to get approved by them, I think they should get approval from DBA, and other countries, to enable subsidiaries of Global companies to use the same software as their parent companies.

  7. when printing or saving the employee summary report x group the name of the group doesn't appear. If doing multiple groups, this makes it difficult to know which group is which when referring back or from printed reports.

  9. It would be useful to be able to assign a bill to a specific person for approval within the system - without this the function is pretty useless.

    This seems like a simple thing if you have this as an option.

    Hi Amy, could you give a bit more detail on what this would help you do, or is there a specific format you'd be looking to download invoices in? 

    Currently, you can export invoices from Xero and would be able to filter these in exported CSV file, or can do a search to do this before exporting - More on this here

  11. When in the Files Inbox, we need to be able to highlight multiple files by holding the shift key. (This works in other areas of xero already, like batch payments)

  12. Perhaps we need to be able to link ideas so that we dont have multiple threads or tag someone So that we know that these have been seen?

    There seems to be pages of ideas & unless someone has spent hours searching or had their search criteria correct, another thread is created. if other users could then link then perhaps the votes could be added and the thread might become a top request!

  13. Require functionality that allows quotes to be sent to management for approval before they can be sent out to customers.
    Purpose: to reduce business risk and ensure prices / vendor terms are agreed and approved.

  14. Add the ability to extract data from scanned receipts in the Xero Expense web app.

    At the moment, both the mobile app and HubDoc can automatically scan receipts and extract data (date, amount, payee, etc). This doesn't work in the web app and Hubdoc cannot send documents to the Expense app.

    We use a document scanner to scan multiple reciepts at a time and then batch upload to our expense keeping app (Zoho Expense). Drag and drop multiple receipts into Zoho Expense and the software will automatically extract the data from multiple reciepts at a time. This is more user…

  15. Could we include a notification when a staff member has a birthday? This has multiple benefits including allowing us to check if their award salary or benefits need to change and also be able to congratulate them on their birthday. Surely it wouldn't be a huge change to make but would be a unique and helpful change for many SME as I currently need to create a new Google calendar for staff birthdays, creating additional work especially when we have 50+ staff and low retention in hospitality. Thank you.

    Appreciate the interest through the idea, but want to be open that we don't have any development planned for adding reminders or notification of an employees birth date atm. 

    I see there are some supporters from NZ and UK in the idea here and wanted to point you across to these specific ideas for each region that I'd encourage adding your support for - Each version of Xero Payroll has been developed specifically for the that regions tax and reporting obligations and this would need to be developed for each version separately.   16. Create the ability to send statements to multiple customers at the same time. Having to go to each customer to send a statement is VERY time consuming and labor intensive. Create a way to list the customers that don't have a zero balance with the ability to check the customers to send statements to. The user could edit the text of the email one time and it could be sent to all customers checked. This would help a LOT!

    You can send out statements to multiple customers by starting from the Sales Overview menu.

    To do this, select 'Sales Overview' from the Business dropdown, then click the Send Statements button. This will allow you to select multiple customer statements to send at once 😊

  17. The ability to search for customers by postcode. It's painful having to search for customers by business names when there can be variations in spelling, grammar etc, the customer's name as there may be multiple people ordering. The search function for customers is woefully underpowered compared to other software such as Quickbooks, where you can search by almost any customer details.

    Hey community, last week we rolled out an update to the search feature for the contacts list view. You can now search for contacts by postcode, as well as phone number and address 🎉

    This'll give you more ways to refine your contact search, and make it easier and quicker to find the correct contact. Thanks again for all your feedback around this idea 😊

  18. When an employee has set amounts to be paid to multiple bank accounts, if there are insufficient funds to pay the amounts Xero allocates to the lowest amount not the order of the bank accounts. This means that payments like rent can be short paid. It would be good to have a flag notifying you of this and an easier way to reorganise the payments.

  19. To reassign or remove multiple billable expenses at once and to make edits to billable expenses from within reports.

  20. With the new invoicing the branding theme is not available which is an important feature for us since for different clients we had different branding theme. Can this be added to the new invoicing system? Please refer to the attached. We cannot switch to this new invoicing if branding them is not added and it seems in September we will not have a choice. Clicking on edit invoice is not a solution. This info was available with the old system without clicking edit invoice

    Understand the sentiment and urgency in wanting this feature available. We've just released an update so now you can view the branding of an invoice when viewing. This is visible on invoices with Awaiting Payment and Paid status 🙂
