Budget Reports - Ability hide selected accounts
The ability to remove the nominal accounts from a budget or show only selection of nominal accounts on a budget report. This would be useful so we can send budget owners a reports which shows only the budget lines that they are interested in and keeps actuals and forecasts in other nominal codes confidential.

Bank Reconciliation Report - Show how a statement line was deleted
The current Statement Exceptions report in the Bank Reconciliation report pack doesn't differentiate between statement lines that were deleted individually and statement lines that were deleted as part of removed an entire statement. Both are listed as Deleted (Manually).
It would be helpful if the report marked these types of deletions differently since only individually deleted statement lines still appear on the Bank statements tab/can be restored.

Bank Reconciliation - Restore duplicate statement line from exception report
I have a client whose workers use toll gates daily, often returning on the same day. Xero sees this as a duplicate expense and delete the second transaction.
It would help if Xero can create a report showing these duplicates and giving the option to pull them into the bank.2 votesHi Mariaan, while not possible to restore the statement lines from the report, you can run the Statement Exceptions report which shows deleted or duplicated statement lines.

Tracking - Ability to bulk Archive categories
We use tracking categories of building jobs. It would be great to archive the tracking category once the job it complete. Allowing a P&L by tracking category report to only show active jobs.

Reporting - Show Invoice Approved Date in the Current Nominal transactions Report for Turnover reconciliation
Turnover per XERO and VAT declared Net Sales should be ideally Equal ,however often may not match and therefore need reconciling-which is important to understand the difference from both the YE accounts and HMRC point of view .
There should be a report in XERO which can facilitate this reconciliation rather than use spreadsheets -which is time consuming when the information is already existing in XERO
One of difference arising is -"The Date" invoice created and approved -are different and will report in different periods of the VAT return and Xero Sales Nominal Account
Example -Invoice created and left as…

Reporting - Bring back ability to highlight text in main report area
A while ago before an update, when working on a set of accounts in Blue Xero, there was an option to 'highlight text' from the main screen of the report, but this was changed to make it so you had to go to 'edit layout' in order to be able to highlight text yellow.
It would be so great if we could have this feature back on the main page as it was so much more user friendly. I would suggest in the area next to the bold/italics/underline/bullet points area which is where it used to be.

UK Payroll - Adding Employee Group data to reports
You can enter a group for an employee on the employment information but this function cannot be used on the reports.
If the information of which employee is in which group, then surely its not a huge leap to add this function to the reports. Using the gross to net report, you could select a group rather than an individual, saving a lot of time.

AU Payroll - Submit child support deductions through STP
Could Xero please introduce the ability to report child support deductions and garnishees via STP reporting to the ATO.
Xero currently does not support reporting of child support deductions through STP Phase 2 with Xero Payroll.

Reporting - Remove Unrealised Currency Gains opening balance from Gains and Losses report
Foreign Currency Gains and Losses - remove opening balance from P&L account 498
Revaluation of the open positions is calculated from invoice/bill issued date to the report date and it is correct. Not sure where from opening balance are coming and are impacting the P&L balances.2 votes -
Bank Statement report to show who the contact is that the transaction has been reconciled to
In the Bank Statement report it would be extremely helpful to have an additional column/option to view the Customer or Suppliers contact name that the transaction has been reconciled to.
We have a lot of invoices for the same amount and depending on who is reconciling, they can be matched to the incorrect customer.
A report showing the contact would help pick up anomalies, rather then after sending statements wait for a disgruntled customer to notify us that a payment has been made when we have reconciled it to another customer.3 votesPerhaps the Account Transactions report would be of help to you here, Tracy? You can adjust the report to add related account and Contact columns so you could see which account a payment came from as well as the contact it was assigned too.

NZ GST - Keep separate Late Claims tab
The New GST layout needs to keep the "Late Claims" separate on the transaction details report. Lumping them all together with income or expense and then the totals don't tie into the numbers on the face of the GST return is frustrating. I can see you can filter by "late claims" but we don't want to have to export and manipulate the data when sending the documents to clients.
It doesn't make sense that the detailed transaction report doesn't match the face of the GST return without manipulating
86 votesThank you for your feedback on the changes for NZ GST returns here, everyone. Late Claims display in the body of the return, to review them. If you click on this the Transaction tab will open and to toggle Late claims on and off, select the 'More' option.
Late claims have been separated into their own section in the Transactions tab, and if needed you can also use the Filter to choose to only view Late Claims. We'll soon be updating the export to PDF to allow late claims to be excluded.
We want to be open that we don't have plans for separating these back into their own tab and will close this idea. We still very much appreciate your feedback and will continue to iterate on this overtime to make filling and filing GST for an organisation simpler and more efficient.

Management report pack - Adding Bank Reconciliation
You've created these great packs or ability to create one, but for majority of businesses when they are reporting for the month that was in a meeting they want a bank reconciliation or a transactions listing with opening bank balance, transactions and closing bank balances!
Can we please have this as an option to add into the Report Packs.1 voteHi Natasha, with lots of change to reporting over the last few months we've been making a few more reports available in the Management report 😊
You can now add the Bank Reconciliation Summary, Bank Statement, and Statement Exceptions as reports into your pack.

Report - Deselect accounts by typing over selected account in Account Transactions report
In the old version of the report you could over type a selected account with another to quickly see the new account.
In the new version you 1/ can't see the accounts you choose easily, 2/can't deselect (you must first "Select All" then "Deselect All".
If I have missed something please let me know.
This is making spot checking of account transactions much slower, and time equals money.
Thanks in advance.1 vote -
Reporting - Show/hide option for future-dated payments in Aged Payables/Receivables
A aged report that will show the year end balance but can also update this to remove for payments that have been made/received post year end (something that can be done on Sage and is a very useful tool)

NZ Payroll - Employee search filter in the Leave Transaction Report
would be great to be able to filter current employees when looking at Leave Transaction Report. We have many hundred old employees and have to scroll through all of them to get the individual employee.. also no search function to be able to find the employee easily
2 votesHeya team, thanks for sharing back on how we could improve Xero for you.
As part of our upgrading Payroll reports with the new version of the Leave Transactions report for both Australian and New Zealand versions of Xero, you can now Search by Employee. So, you'll be able to quickly jump to an employee of interest!😊

Report improvements for GDPR
Since Xero has little to no features to help manage data privacy, please can we have the ability to show date added on Contacts. Even better, date of last activity - and show them on reports?
If this isn't possible, custom fields would do as notes do not show up on the export.
Thanks

UK Payroll - Generate a report with employees names and NINO
UK HMRC often carry out routine checks on compliance with PAYE and National Minimum Wage. In one NMW check we have been asked to provide them with a list of the names and NINOs of all staff employed by us between two specified dates. To make it easy they dont use tax years but calendar dates
We need a standard payroll report that allows us to export a list with the employees name and NINO. The only way to create this at the moment is by a manual trawl
3 votesThanks for your interest and feedback on this idea, everyone
Currently you can generate a Pension Contribution Report which includes the employees name and NINO 🙂 When creating the report - under Columns select the fields you'd like to include in the report as well as the date range. Once created, you can export it in PDF, Excel or Google Sheets.
- Don't see your idea?
