  2. We run multiple branches out of one Xero ledger. We find the income and expenses by contact report very handy to track sales data, however it would be much more useful if we were able to filter by tracking catagory (for our instance we track branch locaiton).

  3. Xero doesn't have a built-in option to directly integrate with or automatically use Gmail for sending W-9 requests. That would be really helpful ~

    It sounds like you're referring to the Request W-9 window, Reuben? You should be able to set up Gmail as your default email app on the device you're using. If this isn't opening Gmail by default you may want to check your device's settings.

  4. Sometimes clients pays an invoice but then if a refund is issued from that invoice to the same client, in Xero there is no option to add a refund on an invoice, you can only add a payment.
    You can only add a refund on a CN but no always there is a CN available.
    When a company has multiple clients and there is a large movement of funds, refunds and payments it is very difficult to keep track of these and a suspense account has to be used and therefore be reconciled at the end of the year. Is…

    Hi Sara, along with Credit Notes, there is also facilities for Overpayment and Prepayments. Would these commonly fit the scenarios in which you're describing here where large amounts of funds are transferred and perhaps a business overpays their invoices to the business through which a refund is then issued? 

    Bein quite a tied in feature to the payments model I want to be open that we don't have any immediate plans for changing this or adding a new type of transactions that would directly add refunds to an invoice. 

  5. Ability to identify which Xero files staff members who leave the firm have direct access to the client Xero file as opposed to being granted access from a firm level. This way, before you delete the user from Xero HQ/Blue you can check to see if any clients need to be contacted to update to invite the firm rather than a specific employee.

  6. I think it would be great to have a submit for approval option in timesheets on the web version just like you can with invoices and bills. I am a third party bookkeeper and therefore Xero Me isn't really an option because, I am not an employee so I can't really use Xero me and if a timesheet is submitted by an employee, it has to be sent to me for approval for editing to ensure it comes through to payroll correctly for processing as an approved timesheet cannot be edited in payroll. Not all staff are tech savvy…

  7. Receipts sent to bills do not require due dates, having to have them as a compulsory item wastes a lot of time. Can you make this an Option?

    Constantly having to fake a due dates and re-approve is not needed for 60% of bills.

  8. We pay our employees under the Electrical award which includes several compulsory 'All Purpose' allowances that are now reported separately as per STP2. When our staff are paid a shift loading, these allowances need to be included in the loading. I have to manually add the allowances into each all purpose loading (which is time consuming)
    Can you please have an option to fix this in the pay items? There are certain allowances that have to be included in overtime, annual leave (which you have an option to include) but you dont have one for shift loading

  9. Currently, it’s not possible to assign a invoice only-Purchases (orders and bills) user permission and not be able to see bills paid or to have the Invoice Only create drafts user role and see purchase orders approved by other users. Can you include this option in Xero?

    Our AU Payroll team are testing some changes to Payroll reconciliation. The idea to create an AU payroll reporting pack is highly associated with payroll reconciliation and we feel that voters here would also have an interest in payroll reconciliation. They would love to hear from you!

    They’re aiming to conduct some 1 on 1 interviews between 6 Feb - 16 Feb 2024, the interviews will last 45 minutes.

  11. When I enter a reference in batch deposit, this does not pull through to the bank reconciliation. On the bank reconciliation report, the Description is "Payment: multiple items" and the Reference field is blank. This is not useful as I have to go into each transaction and see which company the receipt has come from. Why enter a reference when it does not appear on the bank reconciliation report? When I try to search to match deposits using the company name, these deposits do not appear as the Description is unhelpful. If there are smaller batches which add up to…

    HI team, appreciate not directly within the Customer statement at present and being open we don't have immediate change planned for adding this to the customer statement. However, for the time being you could look to run the Customer Invoice Activity report which has a few more options for the columns and detail shown. 

    Once you've set up as you like you could save as Custom to make this readily available in your org and export to share externally with a customer/client. 

  13. At the moment the only option to allow us to offer Auto Pay via Stripe is to set recurring invoices to "approve for sending". Clients receive an email from Xero when their invoice is ready and an email with the payment confirmation linking to the paid invoice and their receipt. Clients on a subscription do not need to get the initial invoice and this confuses many of them. I would like the option to disable sending the invoice when Auto Pay is active, where the only email they receive is the payment confirmation.

  14. Currently, Employee summary gives a a lone total only for the period entered. A report showing one line of detail for every payrun paid, would be very beneficial when processing government claims, or providing information to employees for Centrelink instead of the the cumbersome Activity report, or multiple payslips.

  15. Payroll:

    Allow changes to employees' regular earnings details even when a draft pay run is in progress. If an employee's rate needs to be changed, they should be unticked or deselected in the draft pay run.

    Currently, the entire pay run needs to be deleted, even if only one out of fifty employees needs a rate change, doubling the time spent on preparing the pay run. All calculations for overtime, leave, reimbursements, and deductions will need to be redone.

    Hopefully, this can be considered.

    Hi everyone, we've released a new 'Tax Details' section for US customers in Contacts that allows you to request W-9s from a contact you've set up in Xero. From this section you'll also be able to see a contacts W-9 status and manually update this if needed.

    We've also added additional fields for 'Name on the income tax return' (previously 'Legal name') and 'Business or disregarded entity name' in Contacts to match the 1099 W-9 Management space.

  17. Offering a simple update to the Xero system which would dramatically improve one grey area:

    I had a discussion with my team and it's a common topic that keeps coming up - we find it very awkward having the 'Time Off' allowance displayed in 'Hours'.

    Just like some other tracking systems, they allow you to see your 'Time Off' as 'Days' which is much easier to glance at - instead of having to continuously calculate hours, which takes time and can cause confusion on some occasions.

    We would all very much appreciate it if you at least give the option…

In the "New version of Invoicing" disappeared an amazing function - when you open an invoice after it has been approved, it always displays as tax exclusive, even if you entered it as tax inclusive. In the new version if you approved an invoice tax inclusive it ONLY shows it as tax inclusive. Can you please add the feature of seeing both versions of the same invoice.
    And another feature that disappeared in the new version is to see account number, not just the name of the account. Can you add it back too? And move it back…

  20. I have clients whose bookkeeper does the payroll and also processes accounts payable/receivable invoices. Currently we can't have submit/draft only invoice access AND payroll access. This means that if they want to do payroll, they also get access to approval of invoices. Can we please create a user role where draft/payroll access is combined?
