  1. I need to run a report in Xero that sees the variance in purchaser cost price on a month by month basis for a product group not based on sales/bills
    Otherwise the only way is by an Excel spreadsheet

  2. Currently if you've created a custom report & then select (for eg) the Budget Variance report from the side-bar, all the customisations you've created disappear. We create these customisations for good reason & rarely do we only want to see the one report in that format, so customisation should carry through to the side-bar reports.

  3. Ability to allocate credit notes to a customer.

    Purpose: To save users’ time rather than having to manually go into the Billable Expenses, outstanding report, find the original invoice and edit it to remove from recharging the client.

  4. When you download a P&L / BS report (whether old or new templates), and include comparative periods, there should be an option to choose left to right, or right to left. If i have downloading for Jul-22, with 12 months of comparatives, i want the oldest month to be on the left, and Jul-22 to be all the way to the right. That is typically how all excel financial models are built, and the basis of these models is historical financials.

  5. Hi,
    When clients run the cash summary report - they often select Period - 1 month, then compare with - previous 11 periods.
    This report can be run at any stage throughout the year showing the previous 12 months (showing each month on its own column to track trends etc) on a cash flow basis (P&L reports not relevant if there is equipment lines, drawings, tax payments etc).

    Most of my clients run this report regularly as it 100% focuses on the cash, showing cash movements during the period.

    We wanted to let you know that we've released the improved Cash summary report, where you can now select more flexible date range by clicking the 'Date Range' field, then choose the comparison period from 'Compare with' column.
    To get the full picture on how this new feature works, check out our video here!

    Note that if you need to add a total column into this report, you can use the layout editor then add a formula that you're trying to get.

  6. The new custom report pack looks great but it would be good to be able to export the VAT return within the same pack. Can the VAT reports be added to this functionality? I think it would be helpful for many people.

    I regularly look at a profit and loss, balance sheet, aged receivables detail, aged payables detail and the VAT return reports monthly for all clients and it would be great to export these together, and would save a lot of time.

  7. Need the report linked from dashboard's Total Cash In and Out to MATCH to the data shown on a report.

    Right now it opens up a Bank Summary report which includes transfers, but even after removing transfers from the equation, the numbers still do not match up on the cash flow widget. I can't verify the cash flow widget's numbers.

  9. Currently there is detailed expense report in Xero Projects. That's why I cannot use Projects for invoicing and billing yet, because we (engineering consulting industry) are required to submit itemized documents to support any invoiced expenses. For example,
    - if it's a subcontractor cost, we need to present the subcontractor bill details
    - if it's a mileage reimbursement, we need to present mileage rate and number of miles and the employee who requested such reimbursement.
    So, please add the expense report feature in Xero Projects!

  11. It would be great if when you use the search field to search for a name/description, if there was an option to 'select all' of the searched items. I often search for a description and then have 10-15 account codes I want to view, but i have to tick them all individually. A select all button would be amazing!
    There is already a select all / deselect all option but only when there is no description searched.

  12. Why are we limited to backdating GST Returns in Blue Xero just 12 months.

    It's crazy to limit the backdating of GST Returns to 12 months for Advisors. In an ideal world our clients are well behaved and we only need to deal with recent GST Returns. But we often get situations where we need to backdate GST Returns beyond 12 months: ie A client comes to us who has been trading for 2 or more years and not filed any Tax or GST returns - how do we deal with that? It would be good to have a bank feed to account transactions matching report which could show which bank feed entries have been reconciled to which account transactions without having to click into each entry. Something like the attached would be good to enable someone to spot mismatched bank entries

  14. Xero to create a function that allows you to see a total of Direct Bill Payment charges through a specified time period (similar to running a report on a specific account type). It is a direct cost and therefore it should be very simple to obtain the information. At the moment there is no real visualization, you can only obtain the information by multiplying the amount of payments made in a certain period by £0.24.     Hey Theresa, thank you for raising this suggestion. Whilst there isn't a report dedicated to showing the Direct Bill payment fees, you can use the Account Transactions report to see the fees for a specified time period.

    The payment fees are recorded as spend money transactions to the 'Payment Fee' account. Running the Account Transactions report on this account will show you the fees paid.

  16. Ability to a total of all employees gross wages, and download figures for each individual employee with the total lodged with the ATO.

    Hi everyone, appreciate this idea has come from the prior Feature requests forum and to explain what is currently available -  You can export a .CSV with all employee detail before finalisation.


    From the STP Finalisation screen, select the check box at the top of the list for all employees - at the bottom of the page you'll see an Export .CSV option become visible, so you can view all the payment information before it's sent across to the ATO.   

  17. SureIy this would be a no brainer??

    I'd like an option to download PDFs with a password automatically added.

    The password could be added in the company setting pages with the option to download "Protected PDF" when you print a report.

    This feature seems so simple to create and i'm not sure why it hasn't been thought of.

    This would also save us having to do this manually with every report sent to a client.

    Please set this up at it would be a great option for bookkeepers and accountants.

    Appreciate the feedback on the use you found with the previous worksheet. 

    With the newer BAS while there is no GST calculation worksheet, you can run a Custom Date report to get YTD figures, which can be accessed through the Activity Statement dashboard.

    Being open we don't have plans of adding the worksheet to the new BAS report at this stage, however we'll continue to get a sense of interest on this here and share if there's any change.  

  19. Ability to assign a user where they can only have Invoice only and view only reports.

    Purpose: To make user permission easier to set up, rather than having to upgrade them into Standard. As this will allow a user having access to more confidential reports.

    Hi everyone, thanks for the interest in this idea.

    As you can appreciate, user roles span across the entire Xero product so there’s many combinations of permissions our customers want to see us build. Specifically, our reporting product team is very much aware of the challenges with the current permission sets relating to sharing individual reports with different users and are beginning to look into how we might be able to alleviate some of these reporting challenges.

    However, at this stage it’s far too early to anticipate or confirm any direction on where this discovery work will lead, but it will inform our next steps. Additionally, as I'm sure you can appreciate there are sensitivities of data access and security. Creating upgrades to user permissions will need very careful consideration. As most will be across, the reporting  team are leading up to retiring older versions of Xero’s reports on 31
