  1. On the management report it would be nice to have more flexibility with the way it is laid out. On the front cover for example we would like out logo to sit in the middle of the page at the bottom whereas at the moment the logo doesn't even go on the front cover.

    Also we would like to be able to enter a footer on to the front cover which doesn't sppear on the rest of the pages.

    Is this something that we can do that we just don't know about? If not please can you look at including…

    I want to update you that the new management report pack is now released to all regions! You're now able to apply all of the customisations which are available in our other new style reports, to the same reports within a pack. 


    In saying that, I'll move this thread as 'delivered' 🙂.

  2. Would be useful to be able to narrow column width, especially when decimals are removed and more months are required on 1 page. Similar to Excel, where we can change width and height of rows or columns.

    Hello everyone, we want to round back here and let you know, you can already achieve this idea by either using Payable Invoice Summary & Detail or Aged Payable Detail & Summary report, as we’ve mentioned earlier. From there, you’ll be able to summarise/group the report by Contact Group.

    That being said, we’ll update the status of this idea. Welcome to raise a new idea if you’re thinking about different functionalities.

    Hi community, we understand user roles and the permissions a user has across an organisation is important to many businesses. Right now, as some may have seen across other ideas I've updated - we have some research underway to help us better understand where and how we might best tackle the most predominant needs in roles.

  6. I have around 100 billable expenses each month, I click on the 'Billable' in Expensify and that comes through to xero, but there are many that need to be entered into xero directly.
    We need a report showing unbilled expenses where we can click on the items to mark them as billable in bulk, rather than line by line, which takes up a lot of time.

  7. Reports - Quote Summary pulls incorrect column references. Xero dont accept this is an error and think its a product enhancement.
    Currently when you produce a quote report you cannot have a column titled Quote Ref or "Quote date". Xero has a bug which is using "Invoice Ref" and Invoice Date". Obviously for customers of our business they get annoyed that we are sending them reports implying a quote has been accepted and invoiced rather than purely pending. Such a basic error in Xero but they just dont accept the error

  9. Please fix the Schedule 5 PAYG calculation to include YTD commissions and bonuses as well as ordinary earnings. This is causing issues with tax not calculating automatically because the employee's only form of income is from commissions (real estate industry) and they are forced to report it under commissions for STP Phase 2 yet the calculation things they have $0 YTD earnings.

  10. I would like to be able to firstly differentiate my payroll journals from other journals and then produce an end of year report of the payroll journals.

  11. The ability to create a report where you can see which Supplier invoice a credit note has been allocated against.

    The reason for this is we have a large number of credits from a couple of suppliers and due to some of the credit notes being for a previous period, they are unable to be allocated against the invoice they were created for, so we send through a list of allocations to our supplier each month which we manually have to create at the moment so that we can ensure that our systems balance.

  14. Income Accounts by Contact monthly Comparison
    We have a requirement to report certain income lines by contacts. I can run an Account Transactions report and summarise by Contact, but there is no “Compare with” availability.
    The Income & Expenses by Contact report is available but only reports total Income and or Expenses. It allows for monthly comparison, but there is no availability to select specific Account Codes.
    Are you aware of any reports that may be customised to fulfil our requirement or could you develop such a report?

  15. As a workaround for an issue caused by the obsolete Xero payroll service, Xero support suggested that I use the "edit layout" feature to group 2 accounts in the report. However, Trial Balance does not have an "edit layout" button, so I am stuck displaying 2 accounts that have canceling balances. One of the accounts is the system Accounts Payable account so I am not able to resolve the issue "correctly" with a manual journal entry. Editing the report layout is my only option.

  16. Trial Balance new report: Be able to run a report by tracking category. At the moment there is only an option to filter but if you have many tracking units you end up running a multiple reports and need to combine them all. Really time consuming.

    My proposal attached - with such report you could do any analysis you want!
    Option to run it by month "compare with" option a dream!

  17. It would be great to be able to choose which headings are visible on the default invoices view. There are some customisable reports which allow you to run a report with your preferred view. But for others such as repeating invoices there are no options.

    Our company has different teams, so for these it would be good to customise the column headers, to show the contact groups the client belongs to. This would allow us to forecast what upcoming invoices are due for each team, so that they can allocate resources accordingly.

    Hi everyone, thanks for your patience. Ability to view bills that have not been assigned to a project is now live to 100% of users.
    To access this feature;

    • Click the 3 dot drop down menu from the Bills list screen
    • Select 'Bills not assigned to projects'

    You'll be taken to a page where you c an select the date range for viewing bills that have not been assigned to a project in your organisation, where you can then edit and assign each bill.
    Alternatively, go to Projects and select Add > Expenses from bill to get to the same screen.On a separate note - taking on your recent feedback I do want to confirm that this feature is limited to Bills at present and does not extend to Sales invoices.

  19. Please give us the option to also edit and custom project reports, I need to add fields, run reports by date and add calculation fields. Currently we have to export available reports and edit in excel, it would be great to do it in Xero.

    Hey community - this one was released earlier last month, apologies for the delay.

    You may have seen that last month, we released an update to our Project reports that delivers this idea! 

    In addition to exporting to Excel, PDF and Google Sheets, you'll now have the option to save the Project Summary, Details and Financials reports as a custom report.

  20. New GST return layout and a few thoughts around it :-
    1) when you export the PDF, the file name only shows as eg, GST return 01022024 for a GST return for period ending 31 March 2024. Why can't it show the client's company name, GST return followed by Period end date?
    2) when you try to export the PDF with accounting firm logo - it doesn't seem to work and who has "minutes" to wait for it to download?
