  2. Hi Team, my query is about Draft Invoices. Is there any chance of having a 'Stop do you want to proceed' when it comes to a draft invoice being sent instead of the actual Invoice? I was convinced that I had approved a draft invoice, yet when the email was sent, it was not the Invoice as per the subject reference, but the draft. Embarrassing to say the least.
    Just that extra step would be very helpful. Not the first time it has happened to us. Thank you,

  3. We are using the Xero API to post invoices from a POS system we have created.
    Our customer some large customers with multiple departments. They would like to specify which email address the invoice is sent to.

    The simplest solution would be to include the email address in the invoice data sent from our system to Xero. (If omitted, the main email address for the customer would be used.)

    A more secure solution would require that the email address be one of those entered in Xero for the customer or their contacts.

  4. Add a more detailed bank transaction report.
    It would be nice to generate a bank report that allows you to see the accounts booked in details. For example, if one transaction has multiple accounts, I can see what accounts where used and what amount. this would make it a lot easier to look over and control if you made some mistakes or did not included bank fees in the transaction.

    I prefer to check 'include in emails' for all contacts in an organisation, as the quote & invoice recipient/s often vary & I find it simpler to delete unnecessary recipients from the list on each quote or invoice than to add them. I've only just accidentally realised (after years of use) that invoice reminders go out to every email address in an organisation that is 'included in emails' & not just the email recipient/s of the original invoice - I've been unintentionally sending reminders to multiple

  7. On the Bills page, the New Bill button has been moved top right. More distance to travel = more time wasted. Need to look harder to find it too because it isn't where it was and the New invoice button still is. No - the new colour doesn't help that much as I am colour blind. Could you please move the New bill button back to top left of the screen like the New invoice button ?

The new invoicing page design has created a bloated feature-packed version of invoicing that, whilst great for companies who regularly email or print invoices for posting, is an absolute pain in the proverbial to navigate for companies such as ours who only create invoices for accounting purposes, and never send them out.

  9. ATO Category pay items of Directors Fees should be able to be the Ordinary Earnings Rate for employees. Currently only the ATO category Ordinary Time Earnings can be the Ordinary Earnings rate for employees.
    Whilst adding a zero Ordinary Earnings Rate solves the problem, it leaves the processing of pays open to input errors unnecessarily

  10. Case CX0013378184 - Aged Receivables / Payables Reports have changed - Please re-insert "0.00" balance Current Column

    We urgently request that the “0.00” balance “Current" column be put back into the Aged Receivables / Payables Reports

    XERO has just changed the format of the Aged Receivables / Payables Report to NOT show the "Current" column on the Reports if there is a "0.00" balance.

    This is a huge Problem to us as a company with the way in which we do our reporting as we need that column to show. I cannot see the benefit of why this was changed…

    Thanks for the feedback and raising as an idea here, Katie. We initially made this change based on customer feedback. 

    Appreciate how different businesses have differing needs and we'll keep an eye on the interest of this build here, however want to be open that there are no immediate plans for adding a Current column back to these reports at this stage.

  12. Xero calculates tax per line based on the total tax value of all components then rounds this figure. It is later split between tax components.

    Xero should be calculating the sum of each tax component rounded for each line item.

    Image attached shows how Xero calculates a different value for two equal tax components due to this simplistic method it is using to calculate tax. What is the point in having the ability to set multiple tax components if this is not taken into consideration when calculating the total tax value per item.

  13. Matching foreign currency transactions - Bills that have been approved in a foreign currency should be checked and matched against local currency transactions. These are very common in credit card transactions for online service subscriptions.

    Also, the default setting to only match to local currency should be removed, or the user should be able to chose the default setting.

  14. Reconciliation - when you have multiple payments of the same amounts over several days... Always selects the Invoice to the newest payment.. even tho the invoice date is the same as the first payment? seem like the system allocates backwards?.. We get lots of the same payments and Invoice totals and we have to always manually select/search for the invoice as the Auto reconciliation seems to not factor in Invoice date to Payment date as an option.

    I’d like to submit a request for an enhancement to Xero Payroll to improve the setup and management of default superannuation funds.

    Currently, when adding a default fund in Xero, there is uncertainty around what should be entered in the Member Number field. We typically process super contributions through the ATO Portal, but we would love to have the ability to do this directly within Xero.

    Specifically, we would like the ability to:

    Add a Default Fund chosen by the employer.

    Assign employees who do not have an existing super fund to this default fund.

  17. I often have 30 or so bank transactions (both credit and debit) that I need to on-bill/on-credit to a customer. The process described in https://central.xero.com/s/article/Add-a-billable-expense-to-an-invoice requires multiple clicks per transaction and does not work for credits.

    In addition, there is no indication in the bank transaction list that the entry has been assigned to a customer as a cross-check.

  18. New invoicing has to go, it is aboslute rubbish and does not work, The new reporting si so bad and hard to work along with the latest change I will likely leave. And no one at xero wants to talk to you, and one reply i saw was basically gaslighting every one into a tough ti..ies it is changing. keep old invoices, and work on weaknesses like inventory for small businesses.

    Sorry to hear you're not liking some of our changes in Xero, Fiona. I've made sure to share your feedback here with the team but want to be honest that we will be retiring classic invoicing in September and we will move the idea here to not planned. However, that said we are committed to continuing to build on new invoicing. 

    I understand you've seen some of our responses elsewhere and as you may have seen some of the ideas on the site that relate to changes that you'd like to see I encourage you add your vote and join these for any updates. If there's not an existing idea for a particular change you'd like to see please do add it, our product team are taking on board all feedback we're receiving on this. 

  19. Bulk update account for multiple line entries to allow for easier reanalysis of multiple line items within the software.

    Include a feature to make it easier to change the account for multiple line entries at once through the supplier side to make it easier when bookkeeping to reanalyse multiple line items, rather than editing them one by one if they get reanalysed within the accounts.
    I.e. for a client I originally posted all AXA payments as insurance, in the accounts they were reanalysed as other staff costs, at the moment I need to edit every single line item included in…

    Hi Adam, we have a feature called Find and recode that will enable you to bulk update the account code for multiple lines at once. You could filter by the contact and then recode whatever lines of transactions as needed.

    I'd recommend giving this a try in the demo co first and potentially working with your accountant before implementing this in your organisation. Have more of a read on this here.

  20. There is a significant risk to accuracy allowing the ability to edit an approved invoice without further approval from a higher access tier to what is already provided.

    We have experienced a number of clients sending out the invoices to their clients and then editing the invoices, resulting in differences between the original invoice and that on the system. There is no real audit detail either.

    Therefore, the request is to consider introducing an additional access level restricting the editing / amending of documentation after approval.
