UK Payroll - Download and send reports
Hi there,
I am using payroll manager currently for all my client payroll services, and xero does not provide reports like HMRC monthly payment, P32, I can see it but can not download it to send to my client for payment. Also no employee wage report whereby my client see all deductions/additions and pay net wage to all staffs.
Please check this software https://moneysoft.co.uk/payroll-manager-overview/ this is far best software so far and probably all accounting practices are using it because its user friendly and provide too comprehensive report to clients and employer
Please improve your xero payroll like this…

Reporting - Account transactions export format
The account transactions report when exported no longer has bold headings and is difficult to read - please change back ASAP!
2 votesHi team, we'll move this idea across to delivered. As noted in my last update exporting the Account transactions report to PDF contains bolding for all headings.
If you are having any issues with this I'd recommend raising a case with our Xero Support team through Xero central so we can take a closer look into what you're getting. Thanks

Income by Contact Report - Add the ability to include account code
The Income by Contact report would be able to do this if filters were added so that it could be customised to include nominal code filters.
1 voteHello, we want to round back here and let you know that while grouping by account code isn’t available through Income by Contact report, you can use other reports such as the Account Transaction report to do this.
If you need 1:1 assistance on how to use the group by and filter function with these two reports, you can reach out to our support team :)

Contacts - Add the File icon back to the Contacts transactions list
Under the previous Contact view, there was a book icon to show if there was an attachment to a bill. Now there is an icon to allow copy bill to draft bill. I can't imagine any time I would use this, but value being able to see if a bill has an attachment. I have to open the bill now to find if there is an attachment or go back to the Purchases section and create a report there.

Reports - Export all excel reports in .xlsx format
Please create all excel exports from Xero in the currrent .xlsx format. Most still produce an old xls.file format (for instance Sales Tax Report) and need to be resaved to bring up to date.

Profit & Loss | Tracking - Ability to drill down
The previous Profit & Loss report allowed you to filter by multiple categories. There was an add t report function which allowed users to drill down into secondary categories and export ALL of the data into one report which showed 1. A P&L Summary, 2. Detailed expenditure for the chosen secondary category. The "Add to report" function allowed the user to export the entire category details as a whole.
For our business this is critical. We are a bespoke project based company and use this filter constantly & No the project feature does not work for our business....I have…

NZ GST - Option to convert GST Return into a Bill
Once a GST return is filed, rather than creating a bill could there be an option to 'convert this GST return into a bill'? Then it will sit in the payables report (as a reminder to set the payment!)

Expenses by Contact Report - Filter by group
When breaking down the contacts into groups, such as 'subcontractors', it would be useful to run the 'expenses by contact' report, and to be able to limit that to just the groups I have created, to see how much I have spent on that group as a whole, as well as individuals. (Currently it just shows the full contact list)

Management Report - Ability to add Notes
Management Reports - Ability to notes in the newer versions as were an extremely useful function in the older version and missing from the new ones.
1 voteThank you for engaging here, Nick.
We recently launched an ability to create notes for the Management report pack by clicking 'Insert content' at the bottom of your page then you'll see 'Enable Add Note' option from there. This feature is available in the newer version of the main report pack which includes, Executive Summary, Profit & Loss, Cash Summary, Balance Sheet, Aged Receivables Summary, and Aged Payable Summary reports. You’ll also be able to annotate any figure in your report and link to a text-block for further information too.
I’ll mark this idea as ‘delivered’ now. Feel free to explore more ideas or raise a new idea here.

Reporting - Accept 2 decimal places in Budget Manager
Modify the Budget Manager so that it accepts 2 decimal places and does not round to the nearest full dollar.
Rounding all figures means that the Net Profit amount is incorrect which means the budgets are incorrect.
34 votesThanks for your interest and input on this idea, everyone. Being upfront this isn't something we have planned at this time but we'll continue to monitor the votes and feedback coming through and will be sure to let you know if there's any change to this, here.

Reporting - Ability to show/hide accounts based on balance
I have voted for the idea "Switch Rules - Notes to Financial Accounts" but would like to also propose an idea that may be of benefit if that one is too complex to implement.
Enable a rule that allows an account to be shown/hidden depending on the balance.
For example - if Accounts Receivable is a credit balance then it will display, if it has a negative balance it is hidden.
That means that the Accounts Receivable account could be added to two schedules in the report, but will only show in one, which should align with switch rules…5 votesAppreciate you thinking of other ways to solve something, Jessica. With a lot of the reporting teams concentration on elements to redevelop the most vying features from older reports in the new before their removal later this year I want to be open that we don't have this in pour plans at this stage.
We'll start to get a sense of the interest for this here, and let you know if there are any changes.

Receivable Invoice Summary - Date range 'Any' option
Previously, in old "Customer Invoice Report" there was a feature under "Dates" where we could select "ANY" which allowed Invoices created outside of your selected date range to be included in your report.
This seems to be no longer available in the new "Receivable Invoice Report" and any invoices created outside of your selected date range (but paid within that date range) won't show up on the report.
You can expand your date range but this has potential to re-list paid invoices from previous reports.
Can "ANY' be added as an option to Dates as…4 votes -
AU Payroll - Payroll Activity Summary report to show unused annual leave paid
just like overtime wages, it's important to separate unused annual leave paid from regular annual leave paid because this will enable accountant to quickly cal-check whether super guarantee has been calculated/set up correctly. it's impractical or inefficient if we have to check all the pay item settings.

Reporting - Remove the extra FX column between months on the Balance Sheet
The new balance sheet report has introduced a column between every month which contains a flag if there is an item impacted by FX. This now means that when exporting into excel the report now has 24 columns as opposed to 12 previously and the months are not sequential. I like many others use the balance sheet in other tailored reporting and financial models so am now having to delete the blank columns in order for the report to fit into my reporting templates. Why is it necessary to flag on every month that there is a FX…

Reports - Include name of user in account transaction report
Name of user in account transaction list - Would it be possible that the username of the person who edited or created a specific transaction be visible when downloading the account transaction? This is to make it easier to track who updated the information.

Banking | Account Transactions - Show # of unreconciled transactions
Bank : I work in practice an an issue I see day in and day out is unreconciled Account Transactions. Unlike the 'Reconcile' tab, there is no number in brackets to indicate how many unreconciled Account Transactions there are to prompt people to look at it.
Most of my clients didn't know about the Reconciliation Report, all they concentrate on is getting the number on the 'Reconcile' tab as low as possible.
I would really like to see the number of unreconciled Account Transactions to appear on this tab.

Contact - Select 'TPAR Reportable' when adding contact
Hi Xero,
could you please add a tick box button TPAR reportable in Supplier Contact - when adding new Supplier to have there option to tick "TPAR reportable"?
It would really help with ATO reporting when working with high volume of Suppliers/Contractors.
Atm Xero does not have a tab to differentiate between Supplier providing material only and Supplier/Contractor providing service, labour on which we need to file TPAR every year and within a year we are taking on numerous new contractors.11 votes -
Reports - Sort archived published reports by end date
Please provide better organization tools to published reports archive such as being able to sort published reports by report end date (cut-off date)!
Sometimes we have to go back and reperform a client's bank reconciliation because they don't always know what they are doing, or new transactions cleared in the subsequent period affect previously published report. It doesn't take long to see the published reports archive get disorganized and hard to find a published report.
