  1. "Business and accounting" role needs ability to more narrowly define. I want an employee to access invoices (receivables) but that then gives them access to ALL financial reporting, e.g. P&L, which I don't want them to see.

  2. There is no options to insert automatic date formatting into the reports at the client level. When the "current date" insert field doesn't work you have to manually enter the date all the time. It would be easier to be able to insert "current date" field.

  4. Payroll reports - it will be good to have a COMPARISION field on payroll reports just like the P&L - to compare with previous n number of months / periods.

    While the grouping / summarizing features are good - they are limited to just reporting on a particular period.

    Hence any Comparisions are tedious to run / export and consolidate on excel.

    For. eg. I'd like to run a report to display :
    Afternoon Shift Loading & Overtime work for a month OR the full FY with monthly columns.

  5. Provide an option to allow standard users to publish bank reconciliation reports, but not all reports.

    As a Xero Advisor, I don't always perform all of the accounting functions for my clients. For some clients we mutually prefer to have them perform the bank reconciliation process each month. This is a standard internal control that isn't always outsourced. Requiring publishing bank reconciliation reports at the Advisor level user seems overkill and limits how advisors can manage levels of service assumed by the advisor and their clients.

  6. The TB in Xero does not show lines that have a nil balance, however, you may need to drill down on a line that has a nil balance but may have have transactions (such as a control account). Could an option be added to the trial balance that would allow it to be displayed either with or without the nil balances?

    Hi community, we've just released the ability to show nil(zero) balance accounts in reports.

    Along with the Trial Balance report, this selection is also available for the Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss (Income Statement), Statement of Cash Flows - Direct Method, Cash Summary, Movements in Equity, Blank report, and Report templates

    You'll find you can turn this on as a toggle option from the More menu of the report itself, or there is a selection in Report preferences.

  7. On the notes section to the financial reports in adviser reports templated under the groups, I would like the accounts selected to be in alphabetical order. At the moment the only option is to manually drag and drop - with a large number of accounts this is extremely time consuming. An automated function would assist.

  9. AU - Compulsory Employee Super When a Employee Superfund changes ABN, USI number, merges with another fund.

    The only solution at moment is to export the employee data into a file and save it. Then deactivate the Superfund. The problem is if you have a query on these past transactions you cannot do it through Xero. If you a subjected to an audit you cannot generate report for the data prior to the date of the changes made to the super fund. If you have been through an audit this creates a lot of work.     Hi team, rounding back to confirm that the changes shared last week have now been rolled out and you'll find the next time you export a report from Xero to Excel that the formatting will be a little different. To recap the updates we've made;

    • The report will now default to 100% zoom (rather than 150%),
    • we've adjusted the size of title and currency fonts for ease of reading, and 
    • made slight changes to the formatting of cells in rows for consistency across the report

  11. Xero doesn't currently have the option for reporting PAYG Income Tax Instalment on a monthly basis. Could Xero look into providing this option in the monthly BAS Activity Statement reporting.

    Appreciate your input here, everyone. Our team has looked into this idea to better understand the needs and complexities involved, however they don't have any concrete plans for it just yet.

  12. Ability to filter and view results in the Project Reports by date on the transaction, rather than the date it was entered in Xero

    Purpose: Understand total costs assigned to a project/all projects at a certain point in time.

  13. The filter right now only allows to select all or select/deselect some, but sometimes it would be easier to be able to just exclude something (an account, a group of accounts, a contact, an invoice etc).

  14. Broken down to location/ postal code with the total cost for a contact/supplier in any period is needed.
    I am aware 'the expenses by contact' gives you the total spend in a year but this doesn't filter down to location/ addresses or post code. At year end a key part of our process is reporting local suppliers for our social impact and purpose, we have to complete a time consuming exercise entering addresses/location manually line by line for key suppliers in excel.   16. We would like to be able to go next and back through GST periods/returns on xero. At the moment you have to got back into the GST report tab to see the next/previous period. You should just be able to click next or pervious off to the side

  17. Can you please add balances to the edit layout function so we can see what we are mapping or where things have automapped? I often need to open the financials in a separate tab while editing the layout because I can't see the balances and it would be nice if I didn't have to do that.

  18. At the moment, you need to raise a credit note to write off a bad debt, which then records the invoice as "paid" which is extremely irksome, and factually incorrect. There needs to be an actual "write off" option so that the debts don't show up constantly in your reports and you can claim a tax deduction for them, but they don't get recorded as paid.

    Hi community, we appreciate this idea has collected a fair amount of votes and commentary. This has all been feedback and taken seriously by our product teams.

    Currently, there are ways to record a bad debt in Xero, depending on your tax registration status and how you want the transactions to be recorded in your reports - We have help for this on Xero Central you can draw into.

    We don’t have any plans in the near term to expand functionality to develop a button to write off invoices or bills as 'bad debt'. If anything changes in this space, we’ll update you on this idea!

  19. General Ledger Report - Show separate column for supplier/client name and other side of double entry

    We are accounts practice with more and more clients using Xero. However General Ledger export is not sufficient, as it is hard to group expenses, when there is no supplier name, as reference or details usually left as per bank upload, hence difficulty grouping while preparing final/management accounts.

    Also another side of double entry would be very helpful, as you could see for example that entry in lets say Telephone nominal is from Bank # NL, Jrn from Accruals NL, Jrn from Prepayments NL,…

  20. To have a report for NET Sales for a month. Currently there is a report that only shows what's payable with VAT (not all sales are vatable) so, when trying to reconcile with the in-house ordering program it becomes a whole big xcel spreadsheet exercise...... takes to much time. the report also includes Prepayments which are not goods sold, but money transactions in advance
