  1. Add the ability to display the current actual bank balance from the bank feed alongside the statement balance and Xero balance. This would help users quickly see their true available funds without needing to log into their bank separately.

  3. When viewing a contact, the options to "add group" and "remove group" are two separate functions, making moving a contact from one group to another very clunky. This request is to combine the add/remove feature, so you can simply select/unselect which groups a contact is in. This would mean that to move a contact from one group to another, you would simply deselect the old group checkbox and check the new group checkbox.

  4. It would be great if there was an option to automatically attach the supplier source invoices to the batch payment summary report.

    For example, where an SME has an in-house accounts person raise the batch payment for approval, you would have the option to not just download the batch summary report but include the attached files as well (i.e. the supplier invoices).

    Currently you have to down load the batch payment summary and attach the invoices separately. Whilst accounting practices may have document manager packages that can do this for them, SME owners may not and this feature would be…

  5. Would be useful to have the option to decline a PO request to remove it from the 'awaiting approval' tab, currently the only option you have is to delete it.

  6. A few things I've noticed that annoy me that I think could be tweaked;

    • Duplicate bills screen is a complete waste of time in its current state. Either change the parameters for what flags as a duplicate (ie - if it's the same amount, it should also be the same date, or check for duplicate reference numbers attached to the same supplier). Also give the option to ignore all duplicates from certain suppliers or if something appears, an option to never remind for this supplier & amount again.
      Also there's a button to provide feedback that doesn't work.

If Reimbursements are meant to be used for certain allowances then we need to be able to set up units and unit rates in the same way as we do for allowances, otherwise the calculation becomes a manual one and leaves room for human error. It also means reporting is not clear on how the amount was calculated as even though you can enter a description on the payslip i dont beleive there is a report that summarises this.
    ie for overtime meal allowances you should be able to show how many you have paid and at what rate…

  9. After reporting a bug (can no longer preview contact files) I was given the following response :

    "As you’ve found, right now it’s not possible to preview contact files anymore. You can however, download it and view it instead.
    I’ve included a link to Xero Product Ideas where you can view and support current ideas or create a new one to share your thoughts."

    When something breaks you fix it. You DO NOT pretend that fixing it is a "New Feature" - that then needs requested and voted on.

  10. Bill pdf – to have a print function to print a Payment Voucher for Bill created via a template which user can customize and must contain bank payment details
    of supplier which is input in the Notes under supplier contact (see 1a above). This is to allow us to send the payment voucher manually to boss for boss to do the manual payment to supplier.

  11. Please explore the possibility of generating a report that efficiently and clearly captures Recurring Payments made to any contact or supplier with either monthly or yearly frequency?

    Currently, this is not achievable without significant manual effort to extract data from various reports in Xero. While I’m aware that the "Repeating Bill Payment" feature setup can also aid with producing a report of this nature, most clients do not use this setup, and the information isn't sufficient.

  12. Quote- Multiple formatting options in the "Summary" section.

    In the service delivery business the quotation is also your proposal. Having the ability to use bulleting or numbering as well as bold text or underlining would greatly improve the look and feel of your proposal when the "Summary" section is used to describe and summarize the work or project you are quoting on.

When paying a supplier bill, there should be a back button to get back to the same supplier to continue paying more of that suppliers outstanding bills due for payment once a payment has been made. Currently once you have paid a single bill for a supplier, you have to go back to the bills page and search for another bill or search for the supplier again, it takes twice as long as it should and makes more room for error (our company like many others i would guess need to check each bill against the products we ordered with…

  14. I would like to request that the parameters around the business snapshot ratio's (specifically current ratio) exclude long term loans that are connected to a bank feed.

    Currently if a long term loan is connected to a bank feed it must be allocated as "Bank" this then over rides any account type or account mapping settings otherwise designating the account as a long term liability in regard to ratio's. Xero simply assumes if it is "bank" it must be an overdraft or credit card and therefore is a current liability. This deems any ratio's within the business snapshot relying on…

  15. The real cost of an employee is not shown on the payslip, even though things like Workcover, public liability, Qleave could be shown as percentages based on no of staff over a year. Eg $20k workcover is / staff/weeks of year/hours work this week or $200000 / 16 staff / 52 weeks and 200 hours worked = 0.12c per hour. Same could be shown for Public liability, and any other costs attributable to each staff member.

To have a calendar where we could look back, for example, to 3rd June 2021 and see exactly what occurred on that date- who was on annual leave, what invoices were due on that date, what payments were made/ due on that specific date. Reports change depending on the day they are run, so if information is amended after it skews the figures.     Appreciate the thinking around your idea, Victoria. In the way Xero works data and reports are updated in real-time. 

    To keep a copy of a report at a given point in time you could publish it, and History & notes or Assurance dashboard can be useful in understanding users activity over a period of time.

    Being open, this would require quite extensive change and development across Xero and it's not something we have intentions of at this time. 

    If it's a circumstance you often find yourself needing, you may want to explore Xero's App store where there are connected and certified partners that can provide back up and storage services. 

  17. It seems to calculate values (unrealised gains) for international transactions we need exchange rates.

    However after retrieving the rates from XE.com, as well as another provider, we are unable to pull the exact FX values used by Xero, which means we cannot recreate the value from Xero reports. This interferes with our ability to automatically reconcile and may cause confusion for accountants if they cross check.

    Xero support advised us that they pull live FX rates at 11pm of the timezone of the organisation, however in general it is not possible to pull these live rates historically from XE.com.

    Hi Brendan, appreciate the detail provided along with your idea here. We have a separate community forum where you can log ideas related to improvements for Xero's API. While they have a few ideas around exchange rates what you've raised doesn't appear to have been requested yet.

  18. Ability to restrict the 2nd category tracker to a 1st category item.

    Eg - Category 1 is the property, Category 2 is the tenant.

    When we have multiple properties in an entity it would be great to be able to restrict tenant category to only relate to the 1 property that the tenants are for. This would help to stop a mis-match of property/tenant.

  19. I am a refuge from QuickBooks (after decades of use). I switched to Xero because of the ever-increasing costs of QuickBooks since they switched to a subscription model.

    I have to have two Xero subscriptions -- one for my (very) small business and one for my home bookkeeping. (With QuickBooks, I could manage both with a single account.) At the Early level, that's $15 per month apiece, $30 a month for both, or $360 a year in all. That's less than QuickBooks, but it's a lot for my modest needs.

    Appreciate you sharing your feedback on this and thoughts int he community here. Currently, Xero offers a discount when you subscribe to more than one small business pricing plan. The one thing you'll need to ensure is that each organisation is subscribed to the same email address - We have more information on Xero Central, and you can connect with our specialists through the Contact Xero Support option at the bottom of the page if you'd like to discuss your subscriptions further.

  20. I think the idea of Xero Projects is great. However, it requires a lot of hand-holding and reentering information to go through a project life cycle.

    Here are my top 10 improvements I think would make a FAR smoother experience.

    1. Pull through items quoted into the project as tasks once 'started'. This should be a bare minimum. At the moment tasks have to be manually added to any project.

    2. Push the project title into the reference tag so it displays in the Xero invoice list (otherwise there is no high-level description of what the job is for an invoice). Or…

    That's a few points you've listed, Nicholas. Sorry it's taken a while to respond to you here, and do appreciate the feedback.

    It's best for each point you've raised to be recorded as separate ideas so the community know what they're voting for, we can get a clear sense of interest in what customers are wanting to see, and we can keep you updated if a particular idea progresses.
